That the wall needs to be built, or at the very least, heavy immigration reform is in order. Living in a border I see firsthand just how bad it is every day.

That alternate gender pronouns are getting out of control. Look, I'm gay myself, but frankly without what we typically think of as heteronormative language in place things can get pretty ridiculous, pretty fast. I'm not negating the actual feelings of being a he, a she, or neither, or both, but demanding others keep up with you reeks of ego.

I watched it about two weeks ago. I actually liked it quite a lot. The story itself isn't so much about the reveal of a demonic presence - this is established fairly early - so much as it is figuring out how to get rid of it. That isn't to say there weren't some unintentionally cheesy moments - I chuckled outloud when they flung themselves out the front door of the church and rolled on the ground - but overall it was pretty decent.

I second this. As someone who went to theater maybe once every other year even pre-pandemic, Jungle Cruise is the first movie in quite a while where I'm like, hmm, kinda want to see that.

Yes, it's true. I'm 38 and Facebook is the only social media platform I use, but the majority of my coworkers are young college kiddos around 20 who turn their nose up at it.

I never saw the second one but it took me about four tries to even make it through the first I hated it so much, and that was very popular. It was tonally weird and severely miscast, in my opinion.

I didn't hate it but I remember thinking how overhyped it was by the time I got around to seeing it. It was marketed as this really trippy, surreal movie even though it was really only one scene.

Personally I like Billie Eilish's album, but you are correct. I would actually say that anyone who has become famous in the last ten years will not be known in another ten. The days of global, massive timeless celebrity a la Madonna and Michael Jackson are over.

I don't know the title of the episode offhand but it's on season 4 of Parks and Recreation, the one where Leslie gives her speech for city council in the ice rink and the "Get on Your Feet" snippet loops over and over again as they waddle to the stage. I have never seen just a great, well-written piece of comedy in my life.

I love her music, but at times she strikes me as her own biggest fan. I look at artists writing songs with similar themes, appealing to similar demographics, such as Kesha, and it sometimes seems like she's bent more on gaining sympathy for her problems than solving them. But overall, as an artist, yes I am a fan.

Nothing super recent that I can think of. Though back in the day I would buy a game like Mortal Kombat 2, for example, for both Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, then again years later when it was remastered for PS3. So I guess that's at least three times right there.

Hot take maybe, but Jurassic World nearly surpasses the original. I think simply being a marvel for its time is what keeps most people clinging to it. (Kind of like how people poop over Crystal Skull even though it's actually the most fun Indy film, but I digress.) That said, Fallen Kingdom really didn't need to exist. It was unnecessarily bleak and was clearly only meant as an excuse to turn what should have been a perfect one-off into a whole new franchise.

It really just depends what it is, but a good rule of thumb is to immediately disregard any review of 1 star or 5. Another peeve of mine is agent they simply write "Great" or "This sucks" without further explanation.

Reynolds annoys me in a way I can't quite put my finger on. It's like yes, he's adorable, but he knows he's adorable and that somehow cancels it out.

As for Gosling, I find him more physically appealing but haven't seen as much of his work.

I had a similar situation, but not with porn. As a teenager I kept audio diaries, meaning literally everyday for probably two or three years I'd talk into a tape recorder, go over my day, talk about my thoughts, feelings, fears, crushes, school, (homo)sexuality, everything. I guess I fancied myself a bit of a documentarian, I dunno. Anyway, there's gotta be half a dozen of these tapes floating around out there and I have absolutely no idea where they are.

Arkham and Uncharted, for sure. This might be a bit of a hot take but I would also say Mortal Kombat. Now, obviously some entries are better than others, but there's things to like about each title on its own.

I felt this way a lot when i was younger, in my teens and early 20s. I'm an introvert and it just seemed like everyone was so...loud all the time, and it just felt so false to me, like they were putting on some kind of show. Unfortunately all you can do at that age is deal with it, but as an adult I'm more in control of the types of situations I find myself in. Turning off news and social media is helpful.

They can be relaxing, plus they can tell a story more thoroughly sometimes. I don't have a problem with them as long they're upfront about what they are. I remember being in cancer treatment a few years ago and zoning out with Dear Esther; it was pretty nice.

2016 was influenced in terms of a third party (Russia) controlling information, hacking social media, planting stories, etc, but the actual votes were legitimate, I believe. Falsely informed and heavily manipulated, but legitimate.

Actually, as a medium, he's not wrong. I've had too many negative experiences with mirrors to not be super careful about where I place them in the home. I once had to dispose of one completely because it was a sort of passageway for less than savory entities. I'd listen to him.
