FYI, I've played that GBA port without knowing about the Native Americans (this is the first I've heard about them), and nothing felt "off" about it. I think I assumed, due to the fort and desert, that it was either Union soldiers vs. Confederate soldiers or Americans vs. Mexicans---but not the stereotypical kind of Mexican!

It was actually a completely fictional video game that they were playing during the show (a Zelda 1-type game). The grandmother said she won the system in a bowling tournament, so I guess if you care you can assume it was one of those cheap knockoff systems.

FYI, this review said, "This episode was adorable, I loved every minute of it."

Unfortunately, it doesn't look as if that's a controller for a real system from that time period. It's definitely not a SNES controller, and I think the colors aren't exactly right for a Super Famicom controller. Also, the title of the episode mentions an "8-Bit Princess", and I don't think there were any 8-bit systems whose controllers had that many buttons. Were there?

I wonder if they'll show any real games on Sheldon's TV?

Actually, Spy Hunter was the other game I thought about mentioning in my own topic. I assume that most people know about the arcade game, but I don't know how many know there was a NES version.

Anyway, it was okay, but it got old fast. Maybe I'd have said the same thing about the arcade version if I'd played it more.

Just curious; have you played any NES games that almost never come up in discussions (online or in the outside world) anymore? They can be good or bad, but they shouldn't come up often on, say, "hidden NES gems" or "worst NES games" lists. So things like Mr. Gimmick and Action 52 don't count.

For instance, I almost never hear anything about the Tom & Jerry NES game. It actually had good graphics and music (not a lot of different tunes, though), but its levels were just too long and confusing. I think I got up to the first fight with Tom on my own, and I couldn't even beat it with the infinite lives code in Nintendo Power!

Also, regarding that pic, I have a Big Fish Games subscription too. I can't tell if we have any of the same games. You can delete those shortcut icons to the different games and boot the games up through the Game Manager program that gets put on your computer.

Possibly Fire Emblem Awakening. Mostly I've beaten it on Normal mode, but I have beaten it once on Hard mode.

Normal seems much easier than the easiest mode of every other Fire Emblem game I've played, but I periodically try to find a party that makes story sense (to me) and that makes it an okay challenge, since Hard mode is hard (again to me). Unfortunately, all the parties I've tried still make the game easy. >_>
