No, the odds of winning are always too small. Actually, maybe when the prize is really big, the expected payoff is bigger than the price of one ticket (assuming you're the only winner, which could easily not be the case), but the absolute odds of winning are still so small that I can't care enough to track that.

My parents sometimes get me scratch-off lottery tickets for my birthday and Christmas, and while they never get me more than a few dollars' worth, I always wish they'd spent that money on something else for me.

She's not someone I'd fantasize about, but I guess I'd go out with her and see if she was a nice girl.

To be fair, when on a conference call with a PR firm whose job it is to fix the fact that consumers hate seeing your face in commercials, you should probably avoid saying the n-word all together. He literally could have just said "Colonel Sanders had some not so colorful language back in the day." But giving him any kind of benefit of the doubt on it ignore the fact that Sanders was born in 1890s and shouldn't really be used as one's moral compass.

Yes, "To Catch a Predator" was great. The uncut interviews you can find on YouTube are even better, though.

I thought that too at first, but this guy says that the writers of the Fourteenth Amendment did consider unborn humans to be people. I don't know what the counter-evidence is; I'm sure there is some.

In the second link (I didn't read the whole thing), he says that the "born or naturalized" phrase tells only what's necessary to be a citizen of the U.S., not what's necessary to be a person; and that the equal protection part of the Fourteenth Amendment applies to all people, not just citizens.

Obviously, if he's right, the Constitution could be amended to state that humans become legal people only at birth. There probably would be a lot of support for such an amendment.

And to answer my other question, I think she's pretty. Maybe she's technically overweight, but she carries it well. I also like her eyes, which is odd because she clearly has eye makeup on, and I usually find visible makeup to be a case of trying too hard.

Most people say it's a better game, with a better translation, on the DS.

Still, it doesn't seem as iconic with the DS's 3D graphics. The Game Boy Advance version could've been the best version all around if it didn't have bugs and slowdown (though I didn't notice anything when I played it without any other version to compare it to).

I live in an area with "Private Property - No Trespassing" signs around it and where your car will be towed if you park there without a permit, but there's nothing keeping people out. Anyone can drive or walk in without having to show ID. Does that count as a gated community to you all?

We need more context. Why was he being arrested in the first place? The way he's acting makes me suspect he's a drug dealer or something.

From his video description and blog post, it seems that he saw the cops talking to a homeless woman that he was friends with. He asked the cops what the problem was, and, according to him, the cops immediately started yelling at him.

Ever see this? It's a few years old.



Any thoughts? It does seem like the cops were too rough when they arrested the guy; at least they could've taken off his book bag before they handcuffed him with his hands behind his back. But I am a little glad to see the guy get in trouble for thinking he could just walk away from the cops without giving them his ID. I also wonder if all his backtalk and his mentioning that he's specifically a "Ph.D. student" was meant to communicate to the cops that he was superior to them.

Again, it does seem that the police overreacted, but it would be easier to tell if the guy hadn't been trying so hard to be dramatic and intellectual in his account.
