Did you read your own source? The Edison company didn't "just" film it, they produced and distributed it. And yes, Edison did probably say that (because choking and poisoning wasn't spectacle enough).

Okay, I found something more reputable that says basically the same thing:

It does say that Edison electrocuted a bunch of stray dogs (that he got from the SPCA), but that he did it to see if electrocution would be less painful than other methods of "putting animals to sleep".

Dragon Warrior IV for its massive size and clever structure. On balance I might even find it better than the DS version, since the NES version is more dignified and not unnecessarily "busy" with its graphics. (But I haven't played the NES version in a long time.)

Maybe because there's a definite answer in this case as to whether the person is a man or a woman (I'm assuming the person is cisgendered here). I guess I could get used to using "their" in this situation if everyone agreed it was fine to use.

I'll try to use a person's chosen pronouns, but if those pronouns are neologisms or seem to contradict the person's gender presentation, I'm probably going to mess up. I've never actually had to deal with this outside of the internet, though.

We English speakers really need to agree on a set of gender-neutral singular pronouns for people, though. I don't find it grating when someone uses "they", etc., as singular; but it can make it unclear what's being referred to. Also, sometimes I want to refer to a particular person but not give away whether that person is a man or a woman, and in that situation I do find "they", etc., grating. I thought Fire Emblem Fates had a good story, though probably the dialogue and other text could've been better written so that it was clearer why everybody did what they did.

To appreciate it, though, you probably do have to play Birthright, Conquest, Revelation, Hidden Truths, and Heirs of Fate, possibly in that order (that's the order I played them in). I don't buy that many video games these days, so I didn't mind buying all of those parts.

I don't remember much about it except that it started with him being held captive in some government lab. He was never in any danger, though; I forget if he was deliberately tricking the scientists or just acting goofy and confounding them. I don't remember how the movie ended, but the page says that ALF ended up an ambassador to Earth.

Actually, although at the end of the TV show ALF got caught by the government, the Wikipedia page for the movie says that at the end of it he became accepted as an ambassador to Earth. So a new show could start with him just living with whoever.

Maybe the show wouldn't be as funny if ALF didn't have to hide from most people, but I don't think that that came up constantly on the old show.

Wouldn't that be great? It seems that at the end of that movie that "wrapped up" the TV show, ALF was still on Earth, so there wouldn't need to be a contrived reason to put him back here.

If I feel tired and I have nothing to do for a while, I just set my alarm for the time when I must get up (to get to an event or something), and if I naturally wake up earlier, that's a bonus. That does mean that sometimes I fall asleep for 3 or 4 hours in the middle of the day. >_>

I never try to sneak naps at work, though. I suspect that even if I didn't get caught, I'd get woken up ahead of time by some noise and then feel more tired than before I went to sleep.

"Back in the U.S.S.R." is also good, but again, for me it's due to somebody else's version.
