The U.K. prime minister criticized Trump for calling this a terrorist attack because he didn't wait the obligatory period before stating something well all immediately knew.

He waited with Charlottesville. I don't know if he ever even used the T word.

Because it wasn't. An idiot running over people in a rage after his group starts getting attacked isn't even in the same realm as a premeditated bombing that was intended to kill innocent civilians.

White supremacist runs over peaceful counterprotesters at a violent Nazi rally sounds like terrorism. I'm sorry you think terrorism is only brown people planting bombs. And Antifa, I'm sure. But let's spin our fucking heads off any time a white right-winger commits deadly political violence.

"Peaceful"

You're not even trying anymore.

None of the videos show violence among that group of people. You're doing that thing where we pretend the entire counterprotest was Antifa. Also, he killed a woman and seriously injured others. "But they messed up our protest" is not a justification. There is no justification. Remember when you said punching a Nazi makes you worse than a Nazi? Running over people with your car, and killing one, makes you worse than either

I'm sure if someone deliberately ran over counterprotesters (a go-to terrorist attack) at an ISIS rally, you'd be singing the "random idiot who got upset and overreacted and had no political motivation" tune. Yup. Totally.

Clearly there's a contextual difference between escalation at a protest and an unsolicited bombing. Or does that make me calloused or pushing an agenda?

It's true, their definitely is learning biased around the dataset which is the problem. Big data problems require big data. 35,000 is not big data.

The machine’s lower success rate for women also could support the notion that female sexual orientation is more fluid.

Most important thing to take from the study though, imo.

It sounds like a sufficiently powered sample size, but again a specificity of 80% (with no mention of false positives) makes this study a fun little story and nothing more.

I'm considering the entire possible data size, which is like 7.something billion people. 35,000 is on the order of like 1e5, compared to the population which is 1e9. So basically, it's like 1/10,000th the population.

Right but the point of a sufficiently powered study is that a sample size is large and randomized enough to be representative of the sampled population. Even a number that low relative to the global population should be sufficient enough to reliably extrapolate data erroneously not sampled. Idk I've been drinking.

And I stopped following Warcraft after Arthas died. Is Sargeras or whoever the final big baddie of the Warcraft universe finally gonna be a raid boss?

If we kill him then can we finally get a WoW reboot without all the hand holding bullshit

Yeah Arthas dying was pretty much when I lost interest, since the other stories were lame by comparison

Just another uplifting story about the non-violent left.

You are aware the sentiment towards killing nazi's has existed for nearly a century, right?

You're aware that people before this generation didn't just label everyone who hurt their feelings and supported the presidential candidate they didn't like Nazis, right? If there weren't so many stupid regressives who threw this word around like Candycorn on Halloween, it wouldn't be an issue.

But there was no labelling, the cake read 'Kill Nazi's'. not 'kill everyone on the right who has even tiniest bit of disagreement with my beliefs'. Isn't it equally the fault of people who 'hurt others feelings' or 'support the president' to presume they are nazis, as a result feels this is targeted towards them? Who cares what other people call you, you either are or are not a Nazi, only emotionally unstable and insecure people feel offended by randoms calling them a nazi, when they aren't a nazi.

Oh come on, you honestly think this baker is a WWII buff who just hates the traditional definition of Nazis and today's political climate had nothing to do with this? I think you're playing dumb.

As was mentioned earlier, the word nazi today has a very loose definition and most of us are intelligent enough to read between the lines with sentiment and actions like this. As a white cisgendered male, I find it a little worrisome because there are loons out there who would be willing to brand me a Nazi for holding anything right of extreme left. You can't even be silent on the issue if some political discourse comes up in public without fear of having this shit flung your way. I know other people have it worse, not looking for sympathy; just don't act ignorant about this issue.

Out of curiosity... what do you think the book is likely to be about? I understand you're calling them out on speculating as if it were fact, but you're also not doing anything to argue that their claims aren't likely true based on everything else she's said about the election.

I've only read two excerpts from the book, both anecdotes about the frustrations of being a political being, both tackling it from different directions. Her joke about shooting varmits on a stage in Oklahoma is about the absurdity of transforming yourself to campaign on a democratic platform in a state like Oklahoma, literal pandering. The anecdote about the Bernie debate was about the frustration of having to play superego to the democratic id of Bernie's optimistic campaign promises.

Looking at those two stories I could assume that the whole book is full of stories like that, but I've literally seen less than one-percent of a several hundred page memoir, and any conclusions I could draw from such a small sample size would be ridiculous. I know that. I suspect most of us know that. And yet...

TLDR. I don't know. I haven't any information with which to speculate except perhaps the title, which just tells me that this is a book about the 2015-2016 election told from her perspective.

Nobody is claiming that you know or should know, but to be this silent about any potential, probable criticism until the book is out to me is just feeding into a bias. Even then, after this book is released, I'm anticipating some heavy rationalization or intentional understatement of the book's potential flaws from people like doom art.

Yes, supporting and enabling someone to harm/kill themselves or other people for my distraction and amusement is an immoral act.

Legally speaking, if they're doing it that's on them but it's not something one ought to endorse. If you're looking for competitive team play there's lots of team sports with less significant injuries and if you're looking for the ability to throw cash at someone and make 'em dance there's all sorts of strip clubs, movies, theatres, and concerts to attend that don't involve the aspect of harm.

So you don't endorse any contact sports? Keep in mind that football is not designed with the intention of causing TBI, so it's not like we are rooting for people to get hurt.

Secondly, could you explain why it matters at all if it's a WW2 Nazi or a 2017 Neo Nazi? Both groups advocate white supremacy and both groups are for the removal of people of color by force. The only difference is the former actually attempted it while the latter is just gearing up for it.

By this logic, I might make the same argument about the risks that come from them.

Most of treatment and prevention in modern medicine is a risk vs. benefit analysis; and we have decades of data to show that the benefits of vaccination far outweigh any theoretical risk. The only documented risks are those of allergic reactions, which depending on the vaccine are as high as 1 per 1 million.
