Breath of the Wild is a masterpiece. Even with its flaws, that game is incredible.

Whether Genshin Impact is better or not depends on the person, and both games can be considered great independently of each other. You don't have to tear one down to put the other on a pedestal.

As graphical fidelity increases and public expectations keep rising, games require exponentially more effort and more staff members to keep meeting the curve - let alone try to surpass it.

I can't find a budget for GTA3 - let's say that it had between $10 million and $30 million to be generous. San Andreas cost $100 million to make in the 2000's, and it took a crew of 1,000 people to make that game.

GTA5 had a budget of $265 million. Again, over 1,000 staff members over multiple Rockstar companies worked in this game, and that doesn't count the hundreds of contractors utilised during periods of crunch to get the game finished.

Think about how much money, time and manpower went into Red Dead Redemption 2's horse genital physics compared to the entire roster of weapon animations in GTA3. It takes that much more time, money and effort to create an AAA video game today that meets expectations and pushes the envelope to a level that most people are happy with.

I did the gnarliest shit in my friend's toilet earlier, I hadn't crapped in days and it hit me all at once like a freight train. His toilet is right by the back door, and he'd let his dog out about 15 minutes earlier.

So I'm doing this mudpie shit - it's dense like a bocce ball, and as clean as a chocolate bar you find in your pants pocket the morning after getting shit-faced. And my friend's dog starts barking and howling to be let back in, because it knows I'm there and it feels like I'm ignoring it - not understanding that I'm on the shitter.

So I've gotta dig through this ass mud while my friend's mutt howls and barks. And it was a bad shit too, probably my worst one this year. It was the kind of crap you want to take your time with, because the damage to your butt hygiene is incalculable and it's gonna take a precision job to get out of this one with your dignity intact. I barely had that courtesy.

Overall, it was a 2/10 shit - the shit itself was 3/10, but my friend's dog being a fuckwit and barking at me to let it in the house made the experience that much more stressful. It's like fuck off you dumb animal, I'm trying to take a shit here. Can't even get 5 minutes to get over the muddy cannonball I just passed.

That's where I disagree.

I'll admit that this isn't the best era of modern Doctor Who. I at least appreciate what it's trying to return to, but for every Demons of the Punjab or Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror, there's an Arachnids in the UK or an Orphan 55. I also thought that the TARDIS was overstaffed, and the scripts didn't know how to write four characters without at least one of them being neglected every time. Despite enjoying the show a degree more than when Moffat's DNA was blasted all over it, I can ultimately accept that the last two seasons - while ambitious imo - are flawed.

But Jodie Whittaker's performance as The Doctor is the show's biggest saving grace. After edgy manchild (who ended up being okay in the end) and the inconsistent mess that Capaldi's Doctor was (which was unfortunate, because I wanted to like him more than Matt Smith), Jodie has been a return to the bouncy, adventurous sort of Doctor of the Russell T. Davies run.

My biggest gripe is that she doesn't have the best material to work with, like in Arachnids in the UK where she staunches the Donald Trump expy for going to shoot a giant spider to death, despite the spider suffocating under its own weight otherwise. And it's not just her being mistaken, the show takes her side as the more morally righteous choice. I think the inflated TARDIS cast is a factor in how stretched some of these episodes felt, but a lot of the material is just kind of mediocre with Jodie Whittaker trying to hold everything together through sheer force of personality.

I think she's an excellent Doctor. The show has just been hamstrung by a series of creative decisions that writers and directors have trouble actualising, resulting in episodes where at least one of the core characters are underbaked every time. If those scripts aren't just SyFy TV Movie of the Day-tier scripts in the first place, looking at you Orphan 55. Jodie Whittaker is a consistent delight imo, trying her best to work with what's given to her.

Denoting protestors as terrorists would be a step too far, simply vocalising one's dissatisfaction with the government is a valid form of protest and labelling a protest group who's critical of the government as "terrorists" sets a dangerous precedent that enables state-sanctioned violence against the citizens of a country.

However, these protestors overwhelmed the security of a building that is the heart of your country's democracy while state senators and the President-Elect were in attendance. They walked in with guns and zipties, they broke down doors and broke windows and stole mail. They stormed that building with the intent of subverting democracy, at the heed of a man who lost an election.

What they did is an example of domestic terrorism, and they are terrorists. Every motherfucker who marched on Capitol Hill and broke through security is a terrorist.

Current Who isn't prime Who, but the issues that everyone's fucked up about tend to start with Moffat. I think political topics need to be moderated more closely. It'd be preferable if topics about politics were required to use the Politics flair, and if stuff like 3kl made a comeback in the event of someone being a shithead. A lot of CE's worst shitposting stems from politics - I would like moderation to become stricter because of that.

Maybe make the Politics board the go-to place to have those discussions, with CE posing a larger risk to your account if you want to be a fuckwit about it. Politics has a place on CE, but measures should be taken to crack down on the shit posting it invites.

This is a smart move. Trump's regime has seen multiple instances of government overreach, with his frivolous pardons and broad, heavy-handed acts like COPPA. The government is already on thin ice with the left for stuff like a disgustingly high defense budget at the expense of education and infrastructure, and government overreach can be - and should be - a hot-button issue that the government is taken to task on.

By pushing for an investigation into the pre-existing resources that monitor domestic terrorism, it can be assumed that AOC is preventing an instance of government overreach - broadening the powers of the state to throw someone in jail for terror charges, which can be abused. She's also putting faith in one of the largest defence budgets in the word and holding it to account instead of blindly inflating it in the face of a new threat.

It's a good move for PR, and it's less wasteful than jumping the gun.

Rebuild is a fan term, the actual titles are just Evangelion 1.0 or 2.0 or whatever. I think it's rooted in the idea that these movies are reconstructions of Evangelion as a part of the mecha genre, rather than genre deconstructions on the level of the original series.
