She's clearly very uncomfortable, as is expected, but Eric feigns a crisis of ego and gets up in her face to be like "I'm shit I'm not good enough, I'm a fucking fraud, I need you to make me look good I'm gonna lose everything, please for the love of God help me" and she's sitting there saying "okay" after everything he says in a very tightly wound, uncomfortable way. Then Eric pretends to puke - getting some oatmeal in his mouth while she's not looking and spitting it up onto his desk - and he begins to slurp it up. Jeanette is horrified and escapes the interview, one of the only guests to just get up and walk away.

Oh absolutely. Like a big thing with me is that I don't want to be misunderstood, and I don't want people to think I'm being a dick.

Now occasionally I will make a spicy comment, and I'll even double down. I got modded for a very edgy joke just last weekend, and frankly that warn was expected and totally worth it.

This is a complimentary post - I will go down singing every possible praise of trans girls and of the dining establishment Subway. The concept is funny, but it's not intended to be mean-spirited. If trans girls post ITT and insist that they don't smell like Subway? Totally get it and I do apologise if the effect of my comment was negative. Obviously not every single trans girl smells like subway, but the effect implied - familiar and enjoyable to be around - is absolutely, out of this world intended to be positive.

For the record, I fully understood the context but most people would think comparing a segment of people to the smell of an unliked sandwich chain is offensive.

Honestly never got the hate for Subway. Not every subway experience has been positive, but a sheer majority of subway experiences have been a delight.

Well you see, subway has a distinctive smell when you walk into the building and it's a fun and neat experience. I'm saying that trans girls are a similar experience to walking into a subway, because they are a breath of fresh air and an unreplicable experience.

This is because they are fun and interesting, much like any time you visit a Subway location and get a delicious meal of your own creation.

I saw Jeanette McCurdy's Eric Andre episode recently, and I realised that I can't really watch that part any more. I only learned who she is and what happened in her life within the past two years, and seeing how uncomfortable that interview is isn't even uncomfortable in the "ha ha Eric Andre funny" sort of way. It's honestly kind of unwatchable now I know who she is and what she's gone through.

Final Act is a real mixed bag.

The first half of the show has significant pacing issues. There's one episode that feels like it crams three or so manga plotlines into one episode, and they're all unrelated plotlines that could be their own episodes of the show. The second half tackles the final part of the show's lore, and while it's more of a 6/10 or a 7/10 ending to the show imo, it's pretty okay. Like it's definitely not gonna elevate the show in any way, but it's not like a Game of Thrones y'know. Just kinda mid.

Kagome's dub actress didn't want to come back for The Final Act so they replaced her, as did Sesshomaru's original dub VA. But everyone else comes back, including Brian Cox as InuYasha and Kirby Morrow as Miroku. The new voices are fine, though you can absolutely tell with Kagome.

All in all, Final Act is a shaky product, but I was still glad to see the end of the story being animated. It's not dogshit terrible, but it has low points.

This is one of those games i've heard about for a long time and don't really know what it is.

The short answer is that Runescape is a free-to-play MMORPG with a point-and-click control scheme. It has quests you can complete, but they're not really necessary unless you begin paying for a membership.

The backbone of the game is the selection of skills you can train. Being a point-and-click game, you can probably intuit that you can fight a goblin or a big rat by clicking on them. But there's also mining - clicking on a rock and waiting for your character to mine ore from it - smithing - clicking on an anvil with a smelted metal bar and making something like a helmet or a sword with it - or woodcutting - clicking on a tree with an axe in your inventory and waiting until you cut the tree down.

One reason why it's so popular is because of how robust that skilling system felt back in 2001 for a game you could play for free. A lot of people grew up playing this janky point-and-click RPG, including me. But I think the actual spark that makes the game work so well is that downtime between you intitiating an action and the RNG granting you the result you wanted.

For example, at level 1 woodcutting, you could stand at a tree for a minute and a half before you get some logs from it. At level 5 woodcutting, you're going to cut trees down faster. Then at level 10, you'll be able to equip an iron axe and you can chop down oak trees which are a bit tougher than before. You can do this while watching a show, or you could listen to the in-game music and ambience, or you could just be listening to music. Same thing with fishing - cast a line, chat with other players in the world chat, cook your fish around the campfire and go fishing again. It's a game with a lot of downtime, and it's a relaxing routine.

And what seals it for me is how open-ended the skills are. Even without paying for a membership, you can smith entire sets of armour and make your own in-game weapons with the six default metals in the game. There's no in-game resource shop, you don't need a checklist of three bars, two spikes and a leather trim to make a platebody. This isn't Monster Hunter where you have to grind limited drops for good gear. You can go up to a rock in a mine, get some ore, turn that ore into metal bars and make yourself an entire set of armor and weapons. But before you do that? You have to level your smithing so that you can make a helmet, then a shield, then platelegs, and then a platebody.

It's immensely satisfying to be able to get raw materials that you always have access to in a set location in the game world to create armour pieces and weapons. And to go from making bronze armour to iron armour to steel armour, all the way up to fantasy metals like Mithril and Runite? The feeling of progression is unmatched.

And every skill has that same evolving level of mastery. You can catch bigger fish that restore more HP when you cook and eat them. You can chop down the tallest trees in the game. If you pay for a membership, you can just outright steal gems and precious metals from merchant stalls.

Runescape is a game about downtime, personal choice and progress. One day you're having a chat with some random players while you catch a fish. A year later, you're fishing for lobster on a tropical island so you can finally use a harpoon to start catching swordfish. That freedom to train whatever skillmyou want, and the feeling of achievement once you can start producing those high-level items? Unmatched in any game I've ever played.

I remember once when I posted Intrasport on CE and someone told me it was the worst song they had ever heard.

Vibing out and skilling is the ideal way to play.

With 92 mining you should try amethyst if you haven't already. Smithing has pretty good xp/hr rates no matter what you do but if you need a reprieve from an anvil try Giant's Foundry, the outfit looks amazing

Oh yeah, I got lvl 92 so I could mine amethyst. Great little moneymaker. I really want to train my smithing but I just don't have the patience lol.

One day I wanna be the guy who goes around giving armour sets to new players. I got so much cool shit when I was starting out in OSRS, I want to pay that kindness back. And like I was determined to get there on my own, I had an account as a kid, but folks were just super cool to me.

I've been on the outs with it lately. I don't have the free time I used to, and it's next to impossible to level my favorite skills past the point they're already at - mining is at level 92 and smithing is at 86.

I just need to watch the Blacklist or some obscenely long YouTube video while I play. I just don't have the time.

I feel like this has been a slow quarter. Elden Ring took over the world for a few months, and after that game releases have chilled out a bit.

The usual sports games are still being dogshit, an indie take on a beloved game concept is hitting it big, and we're about to see a packed holiday season with a new Sonic game and a bunch of new announcements for 2023 at the Game Awards.

The past few years have been loaded with a lot of speculation and some more low-key game releases. Team ICO is making a new game. Kojima and Konami are all over the rumour mill, with Metal Gear remasters and remakes and stuff swirling around for at least a year. GTA6 finally got confirmed, with about a year of coverage beforehand speculating on the "Project Americas" concept where the game map would span down into Mexico and into Canada.

I think we're about to see a bunch of hype announcements. If GTA6 launches in 2024 or 2025, I'm hoping for a world premiere at the Game Awards this year. Anything Metal Gear related - except for NFTs - would win me the fuck over. It's gonna happen some time, and with how slow 2022 feels and how lacking 2021 felt, I think we kind of need a shot in the arm with some hype announcements.

All of that to say - Saints Row is probably a fun game to play on a lark, but it's also a pretty slow quarter in between a massive phoenomenon like Elden Ring and what I can only hope is a bunch of massive announcements coming soon.

But saying that, the answer to your question of "is it insane to just keep going" is a clear, unanimous, absolute YES. Like I said initially, I can only imagine the nightmare this situation would be for this couple. How do you reconcile six years of a close romantic bond with the sudden knowledge that you're related to them? But it is absolutely buttfuck insane to go "they're just two crazy kids who've already done it all, why should we rain on their parade and make them stop?" It's because they're direct fucking siblings. When that becomes apparent, you have to stop.

I'm not exactly a hit with the ladies, but I did lose my former best friend last year and that's been fucking me up ever since.

I ended the friendship over a girl, which is absolute pussy shit, but it was one of those things where it literally would have not been a problem if she had gotten with anyone else, and it was only such a massive deal because it was my best friend.

Like you'd expect me to be mad at her, but I was mad at my friend because I spent a year building myself up to asking her out - she lived somewhere else during a lot of this - and confiding in him about this crush.

He was upset that I didn't share more with him, like he knew that I had shit going on I wasn't telling him and he wanted to be let in. I'm a private person and I keep to myself, but he was getting worked up about it. So I let him in on this crush I had, because it was the most benign fucking thing I could think of and there was only one way for him to fuck it up.

I asked her out eventually once she moved back, and she rejected me and we stayed friends - that was fine. I have a long history of like intense jealousy and self-loathing when a crush doesn't work out, and I committed myself to breaking the cycle here. She's gonna get a boyfriend and it's not gonna be me, and I'm going to be okay with that because she's my friend and I want her to be happy. Then one day when I put the work in, I'm gonna find love and everyone is gonna be happy.

The one caveat in my brain is if that boyfriend ends up being my best friend.

At this point, I already feel inadequate compared to my former best friend. I feel like less of a person compared to him, in the way he can speak to other people in ways that I feel I can't and in the way I'm often made the butt of the joke around him. There's a bunch of stuff that began to fall into place around this time that made me realise how miserable I felt around him - i.e. how I let him in on this crush thing because he wore me down about letting him into more of my life - and after confiding in him about this girl, I can't see him getting with her. That's not in the sense of like "I can't possibly imagine this possibility ever happening", I mean that in the sense of "if this ever happens, it is going to break my spirit". The pieces were very much put in place for this to blow up in my face.

I've told him my history of crushes ending in like self-hatred and intense jealousy. I ask him, multiple times, to give me some sort of warning if he's going to pursue her himself. I get that I was asking for a lot with that last one, it's none of my business and he doesn't have to tell me shit, but I was asking so I could put some distance between myself and that situation so I could avoid being hurt.

And then it happens. I don't catch them kissing or anything, but I catch something damning and it snowballed into me lashing out and him eventually admitting it. And I had this long internal dialogue between my rational brain and my emotional brain, how I needed to get over it because I didn't want to hurt anyone but how I just couldn't overcome what had happened and how much it had hurt me.

I made multiple attempts to go back to that friend group. The only way that's gonna work is if I'm friends with them separately and never hear about their lovelife. That's incredibly selfish and unreasonable, so I try to come to terms with it. I get exposed to the relationship too soon and lose any progress I had been building up to. I had my first and only panic attack because I felt like I was on a timer and if I didn't come to terms with it soon, I was going to lose everyone I cared about. This friend group was an escape from a bad home life, and I was about to lose all my friends because I couldn't come to terms with this relationship.

But the tipping point - the part where I let my emotional side win and I committed to cutting these people out of my life forever - was when I thought back to when I first became friends with my former best friend. Specifically, the first time we hung out outside of school.

We went to the town pool and went swimming. And after a while, he gets out of the pool along with another friend, and I go to climb out - and he steps on my hands so I have to let go and stay in the water. I go to the other side, he's run over there so he can step on me more and keep me in the pool. He and another friend are having fun by stopping me from getting out of the pool, by treading on me for their own amusement.

And it dawns on me that this friendship was never built on respect. It was never a fair balance between equals. That's not to say that we didn't get along famously or were never friends, but it did establish a foundation of disrespect that had always been at the foundation of my friendship.

So I stopped trying to go back, and I left that friend group. And to be totally honest? I'm still incredibly fucked up about it. I tensed up multiple times writing this post, and I'll occasionally have like imaginary arguments about him trying to come back into my life and me having to explain why I didn't want that to happen. I just stand at work having these imaginary arguments because I need to get it out, because the thought of my former best friend trying to come back into my life is a fucking nightmare. I have to be prepared to shut him down totally and live my life without his backstabbing ass breathing down my neck. I owe him a lot, genuinely, but I can never repay that debt of gratitude and belongings because him being a part of my life in any way is going to fucking destroy me mentally all over again.

So long story short - my last "relationship", per se, ended fucking terribly. I became a really ugly person, and I learned how to be selfish in a way that lets me look after myself. I'm going to put my wellbeing first. I come first. I'm never going to let another person make me feel that shitty about myself. If that means hurting other people to do it, I will hurt other people to do it.

I feel like the topic title and the associated tweet is gonna get people laughing this all off as no big deal, because a random twitter user used extreme terms in explaining what happened with this court case. Lots of semantics over whether this is genocide or not, which I think is the wrong direction for this to be going in.

Because regardless of the sentiment, I don't think it's controversial to say that blocking PrEP is both a bad move and needlessly cruel. This decision should see backlash against it.

If you take PrEP, you cannot receive or transmit HIV. This drug neuters a lifelong autoimmune disease and makes it harmless for as long as the drug is effective in the body. It has medical use, and it has recreational use. After thousands of queer people died of AIDS 30 years ago, we are now at a point where the disease's spread is actively preventable.

So before this topic gets infested with mouthbreathers who just want to gawk and derail things because someone compared this needless drug restriction to genocide, I want to ask a question to anyone thinking of commenting along those lines.

Literally what excuse is there for PrEP to be taken off of people's insurance?

Like I just want to point out, this is going to primarily affect people who already have HIV for the rest of their lives. Without PrEP being on insurance, people with HIV will have to shell out hundreds of dollars for this drug that makes them non-contagious. This is on top of the federal reserve saying that the only way that the economy will survive is if a majority of the country's population have less money.

So forget the genocide part, because I know that's what people are going to hone in on to criticize. Why is this outcome, restricting anti-HIV drugs by making it illegal for insurance to cover it, a good thing? Or even remotely justifiable?

Is this them admitting that trickle-down economics was a scam, and taking the mask off in saying that they want more money concentrated under less people?
