I saw one they made that includes the battery extender as well as the CCPro, I'm not sure they made one that lets you use the standalone extender with it. Also yeah I really wish America was getting the white XL. The whole idea of the rounded corners design is to make it match the look of the Wii U Gamepad, so why aren't we getting them in the same colors? Unless we're also not getting the white Wii U but I can guarantee that even if the Wii U does launch in America with the black unit as the default, it won't be two-tone red or blue. That was one really cool thing about the DSi, too; with its matte finish, you could draw on it with pencil and put all kinds of custom designs on it and it would just erase off cleanly, and it showed up great on the white unit. It's a little hard to tell from still pictures but it LOOKS like the 3DS XL will have a similar matte finish, but pencil customizations won't show up as well on a mostly-black unit. -- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... Once I figured out that the pixels-per-inch on the 3DS XL and DSi screens are almost exactly the same, I started to think I could replace both devices with the 3DS XL. Previously I didn't want to replace my DSi with my 3DS because original DS games looked crummy in both fullscreen mode (blur from the increased resolution) and 1:1 mode (viewable area was too small). But with the same PPI, 1:1 mode on a 3DS XL will leave me with a viewable area about the same size as the DSi screens.
Looking on ebay, it seems like I could get around $140 for the both of them, so I'd only have to spend $60 for the upgrade, and I can pare 2 handhelds down to 1. The only downside is the battery life. It's a little better than the 3DS, but not really as good as the DSi. -- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... The bigger size is just more of a hindrance than a help and it means that DS games and even 3DS games will probably look worse on the bigger screen. Actually, it's quite the opposite. You can play original DS games in 1:1 mode on the 3DS, and this eliminates the blur caused by the resolution upscaling in fullscreen mode. The problem is, this puts a border around the screen, which shrinks the viewable area to a very small size. But, on the 3DS XL's larger screens, if you use 1:1 mode, the viewable area is actually a tiny bit BIGGER than the normal DSi's screen. tl;dr - playing an original DS game on a 3DS XL will look almost exactly the same as playing it on a DSi. -- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... Last night was an outburst so today let's be positive. Way off the mark here Jakyl. It just turns the X-Division title into a glorified Money in the Bank briefcase that you can only cash in at Destination X. It completely devalues the X-Division belt because it is no longer a goal worth pursuing in its own right; its only value is as a stepping stone to the world title. Who in their right minds would even WANT the X-Division title immediately after Destination X? Why win it now and have to defend against increasingly-determined challengers all year, when you could just win it at Slammiversary and throw it away without ever having to defend it? It's pretty widely accepted that vacating a title detracts from its prestige, at least temporarily. OK so one of the sticking points on this storyline is why did they even want to keep the rehab secret so badly, because nobody has any idea who this woman is outside of people who know her personally who probably already knew she needed rehab and would see it as a good thing that she was getting help, rather than judging her for it.
