The second issue in, you don't show a single Dark Avenger. All you show are the Thunderbolts for the entire issue.

Definitely read all of a series all at once, that's what I do. I guess for the Batman series that could be a problem because of the Night of the Owls crossover but the rest it should help.

I've decided that today I'm going to get caught up on comics too. I don't think I have quite that much but I have about 4-5 issues each of a few series and the entirety of Red Hood, GLC, and Batman & Robin to read. let's do it

I wanted to check out one of the other Batgirls, but the 1st trade of the Cassandra Cain one is really expensive it seems. It's expensive on amazon at the very least. I could get it a lot cheaper than that if my shop can order one assuming it's still in print.

Just read the Splinter Micro Series.

Best issue of the new IDW Turtles universe. God damn brilliant.

So nice to get a look into Yoshi's past. Tang Shen and Oroku Saki as well.

And that last page might be the best thing I have ever seen.

Issue #11 better not disappoint!

Holy %#^ I just realized I currently own more then 200 physical floppies(pretty sure the exact number is 202. It is provided both the hundred bag and borads I got actually came with 100 bags and boards and not more or less). And I haven't been collecting comics in floppy form for even a year yet.

Who else read Outlaws #10? The backup artist, Ario Anindito, has been drawing for years, but this was his first comic. I REALLY hope he's the new artist after #0, because Dwayne Turner sucks.

Meh all my comics are on shelfs on my bookcases. Lying down for that matter. And yea I know it is a lot. But then again one of my first purchases was the entire New Mutant/New X-men Academy X series except for what is collected in the Messiah CompleX trade so that is part of the reason why.

Yeah the Splinter Micro-Series was good stuff. It was a little thing but I especially liked seeing Hamato Yoshi wearing Shredder-style shoulder pads. Also I find myself curious as to what the Turtles' human names were.

But DC art looks SOOOOOO much better than Marvel art, just in general. Like, it's staggering how different the quality is.

Some of the same artists work for both companies, and DC art can definitely be a mixed bag as well. But sure I guess I'd give the edge to DC, though I'd take indies or Image in particular over 'em both in that category.

Marvel has some pretty severe highs, like Jerome Opeña and Clayton Crain and a few others, but there are a lot of books with just garbage art. There's very little in between. Right now at least, bad DC art is, like, David Finch and Scott Clark. They're not good but they are still kind of cool to look at and you can tell they put a lot of effort in, even if it doesn't work out. But, using the direct comparison I just mentioned:

And this isn't necessarily the fault of the artists. Marvel puts GARBAGE inkers and colorists on lower selling books. It ruins the art.

•"It was not the experience I wanted it to be."
• "Unfortunately when you are writing major characters, you sometimes have to make a lot of compromises, and I was made certain promises, [...] and unfortunately not through any fault of Dan DiDio -- he was no longer the last word, I mean a lot of people were now making decisions [...] they were constantly going against each other, contradicting, again in mid-story."
• ""I didn't mind the changes in Superman, I just wish it was the same decision Issue 1 or Issue 2, and I had to kept rewriting things because another person changed their mind, and that was a lot tougher."
• "The writer who replaced me, Keith Giffen, was very, very nice. I've known Keith since we both started in the industry, he called me up when they asked him to do Superman to make sure I wasn't being fired off Superman. And regrettably I did have to tell him no, I can't wait to get off Superman. It was not the experience I wanted it to be."
•"I had no idea Grant Morrison was going to be working on another Superman title. I had no idea I was doing it five years ahead, which means ... my story, I couldn't do certain things without knowing what he did, and Grant wasn't telling everybody. So I was kind of stuck. 'Oh, my gosh, are the Kents alive? What's his relationship with all of these characters? Who exists?' And DC couldn't give me answers. heh, is this fairly recent? I actually saw these exact kinds of things being predicted by people elsewhere, pretty much spot on. like, when Perez was still writing. I guess it's fairly obvious what was going on with that book, huh.

writers like Morrison and Johns get way too much freedom, while other writers probably don't get enough freedom. Morrison being so secretive (see; irresponsible) with the amount of freedom they gave him seems to be what caused problems.
