First Online game was Metal Gear Solid 4. Loved the Online mode. Fun as hell. Think I reached like Level 13, scrub I know never got to the fabled Level 16, oh well.

Huh? Early game you get Vyce and Catiua as guests and they can die at any time and will just escape.

Escorts really happen in like chapter 3, and yeah they sucked on the SNES/PS version. This version units died in 3/4 hits, and that included counter attacks. So really two proper hits they can be dead.

Whereas the PSP version its so hard for any of your units to die. You can survive like 7-8 hits, and since everyone doesnt have counter attacks mandatory in this one, that made it much easier for units to survive cause 7-8 hits is alot of attacks, you can heal between those amount of hits.

BTW This remake seems to be balanced more like the SNES/PS version.

Denam in chapter 1 hits for 88 damage when units have 350 HP, so about 4 hits to death. PSP version he hit for 21 when units had 150 HP, so about 7-8 hits.

High Voltage electricity and fire are it's main weaknesses, but it always escapes by removing itself from fatal danger so it's never completely dead. I don't know how it will fare against acid, though.

Yes the thing being able to detach itself is a problem, Its why despite fire being its weakness and it surviving being frozen, freeing it is actually the best way to stop it. It wont kill it, but it will incapacitate it long enough to be able to burn it without it being able to flee. Like stick its frozen body into a furnace.

Ofcourse you would have to be knowledgeable of the Thing in order to take it down, which would be really hard to do considering its tactics. IE The thing knew Macready was its biggest challenge and tried to frame him with the shorts.

Absolutely. I would also say Macready>Ripley, and I LOVE Ripley.

Old FF games were made with like 4-10 people, up to like 30 by FFVI. Big jump with FFVII, and even bigger jump with FFX. Now they are made by like 100 plus people and have outsourced content etc. aswell as the overwhelming assets they have to create. Its a lot more taxing.

And the biggest problem was Yoichi Wada. He changed SE design philosophy post FFX to sequels. Him and Sakaguchi were at odds and unfortunately Wada won out due to Sakaguchi leaving the company after X-s delay where he resigned from executive position, and the the spirits within where he resigned from the company.

Wada then run the company into the ground trying to get SE to make their own engines rather than use engines like unreal, and it was disastrous for the company. He was responsible for the versus XIII debacle, XIIIs problems and FFXiVs 1.0. He was shitcanned after XIV.

Now the new CEO allows Unreal engine to be used and scrapped the idea that SE will have their own engine, and things are doing a lot better now.

Its Yasumi Matsuno's story. He said hell work on another Tactics ogre like game before he dies, and Hironobu Sakaguchi said recently he is excited on the next game Matsuno is working on getting us very hyped, so who knows he might be doing a sequel to this finally, but well see.

I prefer Chaos. It feels more organic to me -- like I strongly feel like it's what most people playing the game without any foresight would pick.
Plus Aloser, Selye, and Forcas are my favorite characters.

I always hated the Chaotic route, so boring to me. Denam is like a scared child always running here and there trying to clear his name, its the vastly inferior route IMO. Plus its the worst for Denams character development IMO.

Law route is where its at, plus the PSP remake so much was going for the Law route(Ravness, Ability to get Vyce, and Aloser actually can join in this one as opposed to the SNES counterpart).

Snake wins, hes the ultimate soldier.

Shepard is the ultimate leader.

Shepard is better in war missions, like the suicide missions. Snake works better in scenarios like sneaking missions.

Fuck, missed opportunity. But my manga was so shitty back then, its much better now.

The GBA and the DS games are huge improvements over Symphony.

Only thing Symphony has is its less linear(which can be good or bad) and Alucard is cool as fuck.

The GBA/DS games improve on that game so much. They are better structured/linear, tell better stories(besides Circle of the Moon and arguably Harmony of Dissonance). much better gameplay balance(Wow symphony has very bad gameplay balance) and they arent as cheap(Symphony you can beat any boss via soul steal abuse, which you dont even have to find).

I mean yes its map is big, and it introduced the metroidvania style to the series, and its clear it was an ambitious game, but the GBA/DS games perfected the formula.
