Any job changes in minor patches are always more about urgent fixes and course correction than big buffs and nerfs. Those are reserved for the X.1, X.2 etc. patches. They're clearly fine with Reaper's damage (for the time being at least) and are bringing Dragoon more in line with that, and they've readjusted Summoner's Firebird stance to bring more parity with Dreadwyrm stance given it's one less ogcd nuke. About whether they're capable of skipping the second Ancient Flare cast. As much that as how low his health happens to be when he begins casting. Eden's Promise was the first time they began with normal difficulty then made savage on top of that. | Luis_Sera89 12/16/21 3:58:00 PM #266 | It's worth pointing out also that games that have a subscription model that run on a consistent, predictable release schedule, like FFXIV, typically have an active userbase that ebbs and flows as major patches come out. A lot of players will resubscribe for a month at a time when new content comes out, then leave until the next major patch. Generally, XIV reaches it's absolute lowest numbers in the months following an X.55 patch up until a new expansion where it peaks again. Clearly what happened this time around was very atypical and kind of came out of nowhere, so it's difficult to blame SE for being unprepared, particular since the level of activity between February and June of this year was very much as expected. | Luis_Sera89 12/02/21 8:47:13 AM #30 | There's other examples in the series of spells going straight from the first stage naming convention to the third stage (Haste > Hastega, Slow > Slowga) so it's not that much of a stretch. As far as I'm aware, Glare is an original creation as a playable spell, so they can do what they like with it. Skipping Holyra when it already exists is more of a question, I suppose. Maybe it's just so WHM doesn't feel like it's as behind compared to SCH and AST (who are getting Broil IV and Fall Malefic) in some kind of Xbox 360 style slant? I don't know. Maybe they just think Glare III and Holy III fit the spells themselves better than II would. On an unrelated note, I wonder what kind of viewing figures Endwalker will be getting on Twitch and Youtube tomorrow? A lot of the recent surge of interest comes from existing players watching streamers pick up the game, and I can't imagine they'd rather watch tomorrow than play themselves. Speaking personally, it has a fantastic script, although one where the stories of it's individual characters take the spotlight over the protagonist's. Jill is very much the straightman in a world of larger than life characters, and her plot is more emotional than wacky, but it works very well that way. It's very funny, although most of the time it's very adult in that regard, if that bothers you. It has a very cool aesthetic, even before you get to the pixel art. Unlike a certain other game, it's cyberpunk done right. The soundtrack is great. Working out what kind of drink people want mixing for them is fun. Sometimes customers will straight up tell you, sometimes they'll want a suitable recommendation, sometimes you'll need to infer from the conversation you've just had with them what the most appropriate kind of drink to give them is, and then sometimes they'll be a regular and they'll just expect you to know what they want without even saying anything.
