1) Verfire and Verstone gives different amounts of black/white mana than Verthunder and Veraero, and there's only a 50% chance that the ability to use the former will proc when you use the latter (unless you're under the effect of Acceleration), so mana management is very much a thing, particular later on when you unlock more spells which further manipulate levels of mana.

2) Yeah, the schools of black and white magic are more of a theme with RDM in XIV than having practical differences. Fire and Thunder spells are offensive black magic, whilst Aero and Stone are offensive white magic. Although when it comes to supportive/restorative white magic...

3) Verheal and Verraise are unlocked later on, so RDM is still very much the jack-of-all-trades, as well as other party buffs.

I think I'd prefer Endwalker in the first match but it feels a bit weird voting for it having not heard the clean version yet. I'd like some confirmation on whether it could be subbed in once it's available later this month (assuming it's still in the contest), but I don't see why not since it's sort of like swapping a video to a higher quality one.

Servants of the Mountain is probably my second favourite song today, but alas.

It isn't like summoning in X, or even XIII (which is what I assume you're thinking of there), but it's much more of a thematic summoner now than it was pre-rework, which was essentially a caster class with a pet summon (carbuncles and egis), that also used poison spells like Bio, and other non-elemental ones like Ruin. I'm sure there's reasons why there aren't larger summons that hang around for a longer period of time, be they game balance or technical.

Yeah, the server is constantly overwriting data as you play so you can log out when you want. Although make sure to do so in a settlement with an aetheryte so that you get resting exp whilst you're offline (you'll know you've done this right if it doesn't make you wait 20 seconds to log out).

Tanks, such as Gladiator, are simple enough in the overworld. You should be self-sufficient enough to not worry about dying compared to, say, a DPS. In dungeons though a tank is accepted to take the initiative and lead the way, since they pick up monsters for everyone to attack. So there's a little more responsibility there compared to other roles, but if you feel like you can quickly explain that you're new to a dungeon to your party at the start, and they should be understanding and allow you to take your time.
