Getting the resplendent hero gives you a neutral 5* copy of them and turns all other copies on your account (and any you might pull in future) into the resplendent version as well. This persists after the FEH pass expires too, so merging wouldn't lose anything. You can revert them to their original art if you want, but they'll keep the stats regardless.

I reached Heavensward and decided to play dragoon instead of machinist, so playing all that time as monk was a waste.

If you want to continue WoL cosplaying in Stormblood, Monk is the 'canon' job of that expansion, as Dragoon is for Heavensward and Dark Knight is for Shadowbringers.

The new Valentines banner gave me a free... 5* Echidna. Who I'm actually building up, so really this saves me 20k feathers. I hope this spate of off-banner 5* demotes ends by the time Lysithea comes out though >_>

My free 5* pick was Soiree Reinhardt, by the way, who is a new unit for me at least.

I just checked how much they're charging for the pass in the UK; you get used to being exchange rate screwed over here and having to pay more for the exact same product, but the fact it'll cost 9.99 (currently ~$12.74) honestly makes me more irate than anything on the pass itself.

Sticking DC and Vantage on Laslow kind of makes him a budget Altina. Very good for the 3/4* pool, but if you were to expand it to all sword users I'd probably still take her and an enemy phase Laevatein over him.

Barst's refine is great, and probably the best of the bunch. If you happen to have a spare F!Byleth you could give him Fury 4 and Wrath to make a very scary player phase unit, even unmerged.

Morgan also came out of it very well. Her's is basically a better version of Camilla's prf, and suddenly gives her an offensive option, where previously she was either enemy phase or you slapped a Bladetome on her.

Jakob got a ton of raw stats with his refine, but still doesn't off him much a niche unfortunately. His statline is very mediocre, and now he's just a stronger kind of mediocre.

They decided it just made sense to stop using union actors for an ongoing game once it became clear ARR had made FF14 a success, since they
a) cost more
b) are more likely to have scheduling conflicts than non-union actors, and
c) are mostly Americans putting on British accents to fit the aesthetic of the game

You may as well just hire British actors in that case, and despite not being household names (for the most part) they've done a pretty good job. There were also some enforced recasts, such as with Yugiri's original voice actor, which probably factored in to the change in studio as well.

If you spent a small amount on the game each month i.e. you bought the monthly orb bundle for some additional cheap orbs, then you may as well replace that with the pass. You get less orbs overall but all the other benefits like grails and resplendent heroes more than compensate.

Otherwise, it's easy to view this as a cynical cash grab (for example, map reset macros are free on many other gachas) and a slap in the face for strictly f2p players.

Were you going for HS!Elise? I guess Brave Alm is a fairly good pitybreaker if you have to get one.

I did eventually get Ellie and Tsubasa this week, both at 3%, which makes up for how Day 1 cost me all the orbs I'd saved up. They're +Res/-Spd and +Spd/-Atk respectively though, so it remains to be seen whether I'll settle for just pulling them all and start saving again or try and get rid of those nasty banes.

So my first ~330 orbs got me a neutral Mamori and a +Res -HP Kiria, plus off-banner Lethe, Flora, F!Celica and F!Tiki. Those last 4 are a little frustrating, but the Kiria came with my last few orbs so it could've been worse! I'll probably go back in once the Anniversary rolls around and my orbs have built back up a bit again.

Oh, apparently there's a mistake on the English trailer with Ellie's bow, compared with the JP trailer. It doesn't prevent foe follow-up attacks, it prevents the foe counterattacking entirely. So basically a legendary firesweep bow.

The Hot Springs banner always felt like a one-off to me. I think people only expected a new one because they're so accustomed to seasonal banners repeating year-on-year. The same probably goes for the Picnic banner. I doubt we'll be seeing any more of those kinds of one-shot seasonal banners this year with a brand new game to release characters from to fill in the calendar with.

Yeah, the glut of quests between ARR ending and Heavensward beginning are widely considered to be the biggest slog in the main story. The stretches between Heavensward and Stormblood, and Stormblood and Shadowbringers aren't nearly as bad.

Certain screens, particularly party member profiles would cause the Wii U to freeze whenever you scrolled down holding the down button. It was baffling at the time because it's such an innocuous reason for causing a crash.

This banner was a roller-coaster of emotions alright. I went close to 10% before getting broken by a +Spd -Atk Sothis. About 50 orbs later I then got broken by a regular Fjorm on a circle with no reds (which'll teach me not to tempt fate by imagining the worst case scenario).

Then after backing out my very next pull was Altina! She was -Atk (because of course she was). After backing out, since that was the only red, I then did what you really shouldnt do and went straight back in, largely out of frustration, and immediately pulled a second Altina, this time +Def -HP. This game.

I got another +Atk Hector, so I'm good on DC fodder for a while. Also got +Atk Ross and +Valbar for the first time. Ross's Spd is a little awkward, so I'm not motivated to give him Slaying Axe and non-PRF Brave Axe isn't great even at base 40 Atk. I'm glad they decided to introduce 3-4*'s this way, as it's a great way to get additional Dragonweed fodder. I'm always in need of infantry weed

On new banner, I got 4* Python, which means Tethys didn't get demoted. Them not demoting units because of the Exp skills is so odd

Her banner isn't over yet. We'll find out if she demotes in a few days.

I was hoping Brunnya would be a green tome since the existing grail options we have are either cavalry and of dubious strength (Picnic Leo) a dancer (A!Azura) or dated (Female Robin), whilst it isn't that long ago that we had a very competent free blue tome in F!Delthea. As it stands though she pairs up nicely with Thrasir without doubling up on colour.
