Echoing the motion that 24 topic games do nothing to help town in the slightest. They certainly don't need six fucking topics (or whatever it was) on Day 1. If I'd have been town I'd have been bristling at the suggestion that I needed to keep pace with that level of posting. That's just posting for posting's sake. You don't need verbal diarrhoea (or the mafia equivalent of it at least) to win as town.

I'd be fine with Estinien. Also Thancred since best scion got booted last year. Yugiri might do better than on her debut now that Stormblood's had time to settle? Gaius will also need renominating but I kind of like Zenos as a villain instead.

Calling Fates' story atrocious is one thing, but doing so whilst holding up something like Blazing Blade as the pinnacle of storytelling is not exactly consistent. It isn't Shakespeare by any means.

It's very polarised. Most of the negativity come from traditional fans of the series who lament how far it strays tonally from games like Blazing Blade and Path of Radiance, and the writing in particular tends to come in for heavy criticism. Meanwhile it remains very popular among more casual fans, and was very well received by critics. It's also frequently held up as having some of the best gameplay in the series, especially Conquest, even among those people who dislike much of the rest of Fates.

This is just speaking generally though. There are plenty of Fire Emblem fans like myself who still really like Fates, and are willing to overlook it's flaws. A new mainline game would get fans excited regardless, but from what people know of 3H, it looks to be writing a few perceived wrongs that some fans felt have been prevalent in the 3DS games, whilst not alienating the fans it picked up around that time.

On the topic of TH, I'm amused to see for the third original mainline game running they've made overt references to Cordelia. Maybe Tharja was never the #1 supporting cast member in Awakening after all!

OK, if it were me I'd lynch puns on principal in the hope it'd stop people claiming Miller Day 1 and inviting the sideshow it brings. If I was feeling more rational I'd say that Ben's claim was very "ehh...", Scare wouldn't be the biggest loss but I'm not leaning scum on him, Lea I'm slowly warming too because I'm having a harder time seeing someone play so brazenly as scum, and who knows about Corrik but there's probably greater gains from keeping him alive than lynching him Day 1.

Seems like a dead end for now in the face of such adamant backing for some.

Regarding the lynch leaders, MZero I don't have much of an impression of yet, I can only really recall his defence of his inactivity being typical of Day 1 - I won't hold historical Day 1 behaviour against him or anyone else, but the problem lies in the lack of a positive stance when he has been here, at least as far as I can recall.

Red just seems like red to be honest, fairly hands off for the most part and persistent and critical the rest of the time. Lopen is my strongest town reading; I've found myself agreeing with his insights the most, acting like affirmation of my own thoughts of sorts.

Pez I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt for the time being, the major issue I had with him is centred on a hypothetical SK, and I don't want to get hung up on that. Lea likewise but for a different reason, I'm not a fan of eclectically hopping around different players - it's an easy smokescreen IF she's scum, although that isn't enough alone to convince me she IS scum.

Ultimately I find myself coming back to Ben as my main suspicion, not for any one moment but just his general demeanour that feels very plasticy. I don't feel any weight behind his words.

I mean I do think he's been wishy washy and non-committal I'm just not positive it's a scum thing right now as much as a lack of assertiveness and that post seems like a weird one to get on his case for since it takes some stones to go that way given Chris's general reception among the players at large currently.

I was voting for him for his behaviour before that pointing the finger at Chris. In hindsight the subsequent vote weakens my position somewhat, but I disagree that it isn't scummy. Non-committal suspicion, in conjunction with sounding out approval, with a reticence to actually vote until he feels like he absolutely has to is like, textbook scum traits.

Oh, I see what you mean now. You mean your use of those strats rather than what I thought of the strategy itself? Honestly I don't think it's inherently town or scum-like, but in the wider picture it's beneficial to scum, which is what I was getting at in that post. It doesn't colour my impression of you one way or the other unless you continue to do it, since you could feasibly make that your lynch strategy as either alignment. It's a nul tell.

Specifically going after the perceived 'weak links'? I can understand why you might, but I think it's a flawed endeavour. Never put off until tomorrow in mafia what you can do today, since quite often it's already too late by then.

For the sake of argument, lets say eaed and Chris were both scum, and more to the point, you suspect both are equally likely to be scum. Sure lynching eaed is the path of least resistance and any scum lynch is a good one, but what good does it do if Chris is left up days later when the most assertive townies, and possibly yourself, are dead and can't confront him?
