There are Asian stars who are not so attractive (Im looking at you, Jackie Chan.), but its pretty much a given that they will be the comic relief or the sidekick of the better looking hero/heroine. This is usually the case in Hollywood as well, for the most part.

I didnt know anything about System Shock 2, so had to look it up. According to Wiki, it was widely praised by critics, but it sold less than 60,000 copies after about 9 months. That cant possibly be good.

Going just by what is in the first post, I dont think she is wrong. If the development costs are so high, as it is with many games now, then you do have to sell a lot of copies. Sure, some titles do sell, but I can see how the majority are either cancelled or end up sinking their development team because of lackluster numbers. Twitch streaming, free mobile games, and piracy arent going away anytime soon.

it wasn't an ad but this happened in a show called Flash Forward. really awesome show that only got 1 season and made me so sad. it was made by the same people as Lost and was planned to take place in the same universe and be the next Lost. but people didn't give it a chance. most never even watched it. but it had incredible potential so it's a huge tragedy in my opinion

I don't think that is true at all. It might be hard to quantify on a state-wide or national level, but I'd bet any amount of money that there many women will lose their "bargaining power" over some males who are easier to dominate than others. Right now, these sex dolls are primitive, but it's obvious that companies are spending more time, money and effort on improving them. It will be interesting to see how all of this will impact interactions between men and women in, say, 15 years if these dolls are easily affordable, capable of conscious thought and communications, and are basically more human-like.

If I had given it a sincere effort in trying to make it as good as possible, then I would feel disappointed that others didn't like it. I would probably apologize, move on and try to do better.

If I had just wanted to make money, then I wouldn't really care what critics and fans had to say, as long as I was getting paid. And isn't that kind of what happened with DBZ Evo? The writer admitted he just had a business mindset, except he then felt bad about it in the end. That doesn't reall make sense to me.

You can say that now, but I was just watching a demo of a sexbot that can answer simple questions. Yes, its probably scripted for the most part, but you cant honestly believe it will still be this primitive in 10 or 15 years. These things are going to get more and more sophisticated as time goes on. Frankly, Id love to see what a really big company like Microsoft could do with one of these, considering their financial resources and army of software development employees.

What I find odd is how much sex shaming is going on here. There are millions of people around the world who find all kinds of alternative sex lifestyles as being completely disgusting and even worth killing someone over. I agree with that officer, for the most part. Im sure there are many successful people who do not make their beds in the morning or at all, and he did acknowledge that its just a simple task. But that wasnt the real message anyway. Hes advising us to do something both positive and productive the moment you wake up. Given enough time, this becomes a habit that will help build overall discipline. It sounds easy enough to do, so Im going to try it out.

Not a good example, not a good example at all. During the Death Star attack briefing, Luke said that the shot was not impossible because he had made similar shots at live creatures back on Tatooine. Going back to the lightsaber training session with the small orb droid, Luke learned from Obi Wan to defend without his sight and this scene set up the Death Star ending by showing that the Force could help him in subtle ways if he could relax his nerves. Obi Wan also had to help advise him from the dead when Luke was attacking AND Han Solo had to be his usual awesome self and save Luke from being shot down by Vader.

Rey, in TFA, mostly saved other people, didnt really need herself to be saved AND was good or great at most things, despite having no formal training or at least some set up that would pay off in the end.
