You think that 10/10 babe on the beach is thinking about the stud lifeguards bank account when hes rolling by looking like a bronze Hercules?

You are absolutely delusional.

@Living-Legendx8
First, theres no need for you to sound unhinged. Second, nobody said anything about physical attractiveness not being a factor.

If youre good looking, people will notice and respond. But this thread is about dating overall, not just hookups. In fact, TCs article looked at not only casual daters but also those looking for a commitment. Interestingly, you mentioned a stud lifeguard looking like a bronze Hercules. Ask yourself whats the percentage of men who resemble that. Is it 10 percent, maybe even just five percent or less of men? Conversely, do you think men are only aiming at the top 10 or five percent of women? Men are way, way more thirsty than that and it wouldnt be shocking if theyre Ok with whatever hits the 60 percent mark, and thats being generous by not including top tier dudes who can date anyone, anywhere, any time.

Keep in mind, that its perfectly fine to have these standards. But when some people imply that the standards arent actually high or that they arent skewed, then thats just being unreasonable.

Guess what buddy?

A mans money / resources doesnt sexually arouse a woman either.

You know what really, really does not attract women?

Broke dudes. Especially broke dudes with no status and no connections. Cant pay for your dates meals when youre broke. Cant do a whole lot of things for her when youre broke. Dudes will absolutely date a broke woman who dropped out of high school, though.

Im sure you will find that one exception out of thousands who bucks that trend, and I say thats fine and good luck with that.

@Gladius_ thanks for your input. Like you said, at least youre a woman who is willing to participate in the discussion.

Something I hope youll consider is that a big reason why women are, perhaps unfairly, expected to not be promiscuous, to bear children and maintain a home is because those traits are becoming uncommon, even though thats what a lot of men are really hopeful for and what we are willing to trade our resources, time and services to get. A lot of my very educated female friends have a tough time wrapping their heads around this point because they think their high pay, prestigious titles and college degrees should be enough to arouse the men they meet. Seriously, they ask why dudes are not excited when they tell them they have a doctorate and own a house. We (generally speaking) dont care about that. We want our own kids, we want a spouse who isnt going to have sex with other guys, and she doesnt want to argue about everything. We already know were going to be expected to provide our own money and other things like protection and manual labor of some kind.

Of course this is not true of every relationship. Some men and women are cool with polygamy and having no kids, for example. I do think a lot of the conflict today happens because both sides want certain things but neither side thinks the transactions are equal.

You're married, what do you actually know about the dating scene? Legit question. You seem to base it on ideals instead of reality.

I think it goes way beyond that.

@Gladius_ seems like a decent person, but I dont think its possible for her to understand how unbalanced and difficult it can be for the majority of straight men to successfully date even just a handful of women. It would be like us, men, telling pregnant women that we know what its like to be pregnant and that its really not that bad because we read about it.

This doesnt mean women or anyone else should get rid of their preferences and expectations. Keep them because lowering your standards, regardless of how unreasonable they might be, still is no guarantee youll find happiness or contentment anyway.

Im not sure what it would take to secure a school. On military bases, Ive seen basic measures such as electronically locked doors, rotating shifts of security personnel both in and out of the facility, multi camera monitoring, easy access escape doors used from the inside, and such. People who work in schools would probably have a better understanding of that type of environment.

That was only done because several members were looking at the photo and eyeballing their conclusion. If youre going to cite an actual study, that wouldnt automatically apply to this specific case or even the ones where trans athletes are dominating in other sports, despite making up a tiny percentage of the talent pool. For the study to be both relevant and accurate to these cases, youd have to study these specific individuals or else youre just looking at the overall group, creating a missing a tree for the forest scenario.
