My mom had two strokes in her lifetime. The first happened four years ago and put her in the ICU and rehab for the better part of five months, but she did end up recovering nearly fully from it. The second happened a month ago, and she was in a coma for a week before dying. I was with her at the time she had it, we got her to the hospital as soon as we possibly could have, and it still wasn't enough. I'm terrified by the prospect now.
