1. It does if it's rigid and not form fitting, which Stormtrooper armor looks to be. Stuff like kevlar won't but if the weight isn't enough to compress the armor it will protect against it yeah.
2. The logs weren't bigger than Stormtroopers iirc.

Whatever. I don't think it's exaggerating because they're equally as bad. The logs should barely have been able to knock over Stormtroopers never mind AT-STs.

Those logs would turn a Stormtrooper to paste if they hit one. You're just being silly now. >_>

What. The logs were not that big and stormtroopers are supposedly wearing heavy duty PLASTOID armor. A trooper could take some of those logs and get up imhhho.

Matrix 3 was awful simply because a Matrix movie where 75% of it is outside the Matrix is not interesting. Matrix 2 was perfectly watchable though

Jar Jar's "zany" antics didn't bother me nearly as much as the Ewoks taking down the Emperor's "best" troops.

"Gently tap them to death!"

This so much.

AT-STs getting taken down by small rocks and spears no thanks.

People hate on Jar Jar too much. There were plenty of stupid aliens in the original trilogy. Ewoks being the big problem but there were plenty strewn throughout the movie. The Cantina and Jabba's Palace also have a few laughably bad ones. Ewoks are the only ones that approach Jar Jar levels of exposure, mind you.

There's also Valkryia Chronicles (seems to be somewhat disliked for messing with the story focus, but decent other than that) and Devil May Cry (lol. And I say this as a huge DMC fan).

there is no series that doesn't have a lot of haters, I don't even like 80% of the stuff I listed. I was answering his question which is 'what are considered by many people to be the greatest of all time anime'. the answer I gave might have been 'subjective' but it was the subjective opinion of most people which is what he asked for.

what you're doing is instead of answering his question, telling him something else that you think he needs to hear. aka the #1 problem with all anime recommendation topics ever.

Except I'm not because if I was doing that I would've shot down Gundam too. But I've never really noticed a disproportionate amount of Gundam haters.

My perception is that One Piece has almost as many haters as fans, particularly among the more casual anime fans. Perhaps I'm wrong, but yeah. I would've probably recommended Death Note (haven't seen) or Bleach (dislike) over One Piece pretty easily, for instance.

depends on what you're looking for really buy if the criteria is 'what do people like' I'd break it into categories like this

Definitively (huge consensus with most who have seen, not just a passing fad, etc.): Legend of Galactic Heroes, Gintama, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (arguable but I doubt opinion on it will change with time), One Piece, the original Gundam trilogy and the Zeta Gundam series, Kara no Kyoukai

I don't think One Piece goes in that first category at all. Series has a lot of haters (including myself).

I've very rarely had any issue with it beyond the occasional matches that are unplayable. Which is bad but I mean the matches where I can move I don't notice input lag that isn't negligible to the point where you can easily account for it. Certainly no sort of "tactics that only work due to lag" stuff going on, anyway.

Like in the Urien example I think the issue is more that you're learning how to counter shoulder spam as a an important facet of anti-Urien play rather than getting the timing wrong.

well that's the point. it's not important to Urien play at all and doesn't work. it'll get you punished hard offline. but online it's practically safe, so playing online against Urien is a waste of time unless the other guy already knows how to play correctly.

but it might not be as bad in SF4 for instance, I'm not very good at that so I wouldn't know!

Well my point is that was more that it's not safe online either. Not against everyone, anyway.

Well, I've never played SF3 online but I'm just saying I've recalled people whining about being trapped in things because of lag in Marvel 3 for instance and I've never had that issue for the most part there. Yes people try spammy crap and so it probably works against some people but some of those people it works on are bad, some of those people are bads who blame it on lag, and then a significantly smaller portion of the lot is people who are actually unable to punish because of lag.

It has nothing to do with XBL so no but Microsoft does benefit from it so for this poll specifically it would have to be taken into account.

My whole point is that if you're ranting about how used the Steam service is it doesn't really fly to include people that are indoctrinated into it as evidence that it's widely used.

For another example, it'd be like if they packaged 3 free months of XBL with 360s and counting these people as subscribers even if they don't renew. Microsoft is still getting money because the 360s are made by them, but it's not really the same thing.

A lot of people overblow lag anyway... particularly these days on XBL. If your connection isn't crap your opponent using "lag tactics" won't really work most of the time. On a good connection I think the main issue is that you learn to play against people who abuse lag tactics less so than you can't apply the correct solution. Like in the Urien example I think the issue is more that you're learning how to counter shoulder spam as a an important facet of anti-Urien play rather than getting the timing wrong.

Well I don't care if you know what I said (it wasn't intended as a jab, really, just an honest, if perhaps incorrect, appraisal) I just deleted it to not start an argument over it more than anything! And it apparently worked on that front so everything's copacetic.

Bahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Both of them have just as much trash talking, flaming, etc etc. That doesn't change. LoL's community is a joke, however, because of how much handholding Riot does with bad players and whiners, catering to them rather than helping them learn.

It might just be because in DotA you have more power over things but in DotA games you're often kicked out of the game before it even starts because of something you said or whatever. In game you'll basically get flamed for small errors-- forget feeding. Missing a deny or having a weird but viable first item will make people flip sometimes. It's not always this bad, mind you, but yeah, it's often enough that it's worth mentioning-- at least it was 6 years ago.

DotA's community to me is like a bunch of people waiting to flame you, actively looking for an opportunity to do so.
LoL's community is like a bunch of people who are unassuming and then overreact a ton to their team not winning and start flaming then.

Big difference. The reactions of LoL players are usually justified, but overblown. DotA come off as a bunch of nerd ragers chomping at the bit. LoL isn't great, but it pretty much wins by default there.

I played a lot of DotA back in the day but LoL does a lot of stuff better-- the laning phase an number of viable champ builds/roles in particular. Possible DotA2 helps that (though DotA fans seem to like the things I have problems with like denying so I doubt it), but yeah. Enough that I don't see myself going back to DotA (also having a bunch of champions and stuff or this game certainly doesn't encour1age me either)

Course there are some things dota does better too but... given the choice I go LoL
