Same. I beat all the content and had max level gear pretty much in every slot, but they kept delaying the cataclysm and no news was forthcoming, so eventually the game got uninstalled and shelved. It would have to be some majorly exciting content to get me back in to it again after all this time but I definitely enjoyed playing.

If you're completely burnt out on open world games it's not likely to blow your mind. But it's a great game and $20 is amazing value.

What I don't like is that airplanes are completely pointless. I flew a plane twice, and that's just because I happened to be by an airport and there happened to be a plane there. I found another plane "in the wild", on some hilltop but I crashed before I could get enough lift to clear the treeline. And you'll find runways full of static drone models but no airplanes, it's weird.

I didn't even realise there were planes in this game...

Wait, that's the "end"? They literally couldn't write a cohesive story so it just ends with a fifteen second boss fight and some cutscenes leaving absolutely nothing resolved. That's "beating the game".

Yeah, it's all set up for DLC and extra story chapters. And since everyone dies with a single headshot they had to give the boss some bullshit magic drones to protect him and draw out the fight.

Although it felt ridiculous that some of the "alpha" Wolves died so quickly (mostly without a fight or even detecting me) so I guess I don't really know how they could have handled boss fights.

Also just realised the raids aren't live at the moment. Think I'm moving on to other games until some content comes out to make it worthwhile playing again. I've barely touched any side quests because they didn't seem worth bothering with.

2 - The NPCs that you interact with for missions have different voices for cutscenes than they normally do. Meaning, you'll talk to someone with a thick ass accent and then after the cutscene ends they'll have some white Wisconsin nerd accent and tell you to stop bothering them.

I had this happen after a scene with an enemy deserter. He was giving the big man talk of how he was only telling me where this base was because it would make it easier for all his friends to kill me. Cutscene ends and he immediately cowers away and whimpers "please stop, you're making me nervous".

jfc I alt tabbed out and now I can only move and nothing else. I can't shoot or change guns or anything.

I'm on PS4 and haven't had anything quite that bad, although I have lost the ability to use my drone on a couple of occasions. Had to log out and back in again to fix that. I did get a video of the time my bike got stuck trying to go up an incline that was too steep. Couldn't turn left or right, I was trying all combinations of accelerate and reverse, and all of a sudden I get fired backwards probably a couple hundred metres down a mountain. Only lost about half my health from it, too.

Absolutely this. I'm sure there's probably an incredibly simple explanation but I have never understood why a medium that removes physical production and shipping costs does not in any way result in lower prices. You'd think it would be pushed for just from an environmental standpoint with how much plastic is involved.

I mean, I'm the type of person who still prefers to have a physical copy of something on my shelf so I guess, whatever, it works for me. I just don't get it.

I didn't really think much about any of the cutscenes apart from a fairly frequent problem with character models flickering in and out of existence. Oh, and during one early-ish plot event rubble from the preceding boss fight was perfectly placed to completely obscure what was happening (although in fairness this is not the first game that's happened in).

That's good advice. There is a Polish girl in my office who I could approach in that regard but I think I'd be more comfortable with that once I had the fundamentals down. Otherwise I'd just feel the pressure of someone measuring my progress which I don't particularly enjoy.

The Pimsleur trial was quite engaging and interesting. I assume the full course is the same, but the first lesson was a short conversation entirely in Polish which it then broke down piece by piece, asking you to repeat back the individual phrases before tying them back together, and then occasionally getting you to recall the earlier phrases as the conversation progressed.

There was a positive and a negative to the purely-audio format: on the positive it felt like a very natural way of learning, rather than rote memorization of nouns and adjectives and rules. The negative is that I could not for the life of me write down anything that I said. I spoke a few of the phrases in to Google Translate and I was just like "....that's what I was saying?!"

I have, at least, learned how to say "I don't understand Polish", so that's something!

To be honest "only so far" might be good enough. How do you find learning with Duolingo? There's a trial lesson on Pimsleur which I'm going to give a go, but it seems that Pimsleur asks for half an hour each day and Duolingo only 5 minutes?

I've got no experience with Slavic language at all, unfortunately. I'm not expecting to be fluent this time next year but it'd be nice to have some mutual understanding, else I'll just be stuck with my family and risk looking standoffish, or at the very least have one drawn-out evening.

So my brother is engaged to a Polish girl and the wedding is going to take place in Poland late next year. Apparently only one person in her family speaks any English so I'd like to try and get some kind of grasp on the Polish language between now and then. I've heard good things about Pimsleur previously and the website makes it all sound very impressive but I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it? Or if there were other methods/programmes people found more effective.

Attending classes is out and while I'd love to get out to Poland beforehand to immerse myself a bit I don't know if that will be viable with work (although it's a possibility). Any advice on the matter is appreciated!

I'm just up to the vault on Promethea and I have been surprised myself. I'm hoping that the game opens up after this since it seems to be gearing up for all the collectibles that you can't interact with at the beginning. Currently just seems like one "dungeon" map after another with a side quest or (maybe) two after you beat the boss.

I clocked about 400 hours on Civ 5 and didn't really like 6 much when it came out. I gave it another chance and now have 940 hours on it across the original game and all the DLC. For that price it's well worth it, even if you only get the base game (although I'd highly recommend picking up the expansions too).

I had one of my pets glitch out and not attack enemies. The inventory/skill tree menu gets really laggy too.

We had one main issue which was during a fight that happened after some dialogue early on; the game completely de-synced our instances and we had to reload the game. Other than that the menus are very laggy which is a bit of a pace killer but I haven't encountered anything else.

Over the past couple of years I've rescued two juvenile hedgehogs that I've found out on their own in the middle of the day and in bad shape. Fattened them up, kept them wild, and handed them over to a local nature reserve when they were ready.

They're super cute but they stink to high heaven. I found putting lavender around their temporary home kept the flies away but the little guys kept eating it overnight...

When I was younger I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So there I am sitting in the waiting room of a hair salon with my niece, and who walks in but Keanu Reeves. I was nervous as shit, and just kept looking at him as he read a magazine and waited, but I was too scared to say anything to him. pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want to bother Keanu, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asked what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So Keanu Reeves put down his magazine, picked up my niece, and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

First reaction was definitely excitement. Then came the slight anxiety of remembering I only managed a few hours of the first Divinity Original Sin and gave up on it.

Mostly though I'm concerned about making illithids so prominent. Any enemy that has that many stun/charm/confusion spells is annoying as hell en masse (always did the Kuo-toa in the Underdark in BG 2 to avoid the illithids and the beholders because screw that noise) so I don't want them used as primary enemy types. Then conversely they have mind reading powers so how do you balance bluffing/persuasion checks?

All supposition at this stage, obviously. I'm all for a new Baldur's Gate game, I just really want it to be done right as it's a big series for me.

Genuinely this. Currently playing AC Odyssey and I'm not even going to touch the underwater ruins. Any mission that forces me down there takes so much longer because I refuse to enter the water until I'm satisfied that I've sniped every single shark and Ikaros has done a comprehensive sweep to ensure such. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been mentioned in this topic already; any time I encountered an aquatic challenge tomb or section of the story I looked it up on YouTube first until I was satisfied with how to get through. To be fair it's less about the water and more about the horrendous things that live in it, but still.

And yet I hear about games designed specifically around that concept. There's a multiplayer game I've seen on Steam where one team are divers (in first person, I think) and the other are different kinds of sharks. Absolutely fuck that.
