What? Why? Open world games are hugely successful.

I think the big ones will stick around (GTA/Zelda/Elder Scrolls etc) but there wont be as much of a focus on them just because of ballooning costs in the industry. At the very least, less new IPs built around them but maybe just built around old IPs that are trusted.

I said it in the Xbox topic but these results do not look so hot for Playstation. The PS4 seems uncatchable by the PS5 now, on much smaller profit margins. Overall profits are significantly down which also means they cant do a substantial price drop like they did for the PS4. They missed their target by a lot and have a good chance of missing their new one. And this lack of big games combined with no price drop likely means things will slow from here. Expecting the PS6 to be a return to weaker, cheaper hardware which might be a good thing.

I think it will be mostly a expansion on some of the things PS5 have done (Dualsense has felt barely implemented) but I also expect just a straight up death of physical games (maybe a disc drive thats optional/more expensive) and maybe even less of a focus on open world games (Great news for the haters on this board of the genre)

this doesnt rule out new IPs though

A good chunk of the heavy hitters from the last few years, gaming has been so strong lately I havent really gotten the opportunity to keep up, also have had multiple things that have made it consistently harder for me

off the top of my head Hades/Elden Ring/Outer Wilds/Obra Dinn/Death Stranding/Alan Wake 2/Divinity OS 1+2/3 Houses/Hollow Knight/Bug Fables/Cyberpunk/Post 6 RE all come to mind, maybe others when I think of them. Rebirth also comes out later this month and I have it preordered

They definitely have a "so bad it's hilarious" quality that the bad DC movies lack

they also are always like an hour shorter. Venom and Morbius were both like 1 hour 45, while WW84 was two and a half and Batman vs Superman was 3 hours

I dunno I find these films more endearing than the DCU films even if the latter are better

I feel like Interior Lineman would make sense too so Lily/Page/Greene/even Donald could all be argued, Interior LBs are different too so like Butkus or Ray Lewis make sense, secondary you have it mostly covered but can see a case for Rod Woodson. Lots of candidates really

Greatest defensive player of all time is debatable (I'd argue hard for Reggie White personally), but I don't think you'd get a ton of pushback on LT.

White has the longevity, but I think LTs higher prime, versatility, and influence on offensive schemes to try to stop him is why hes the defensive pick there. White is probably the second head on a all defense Rushmore though
