Finally saw. Loved the movie, I agree that it's hard to call it "horror", and that's to it's benefit.

Really have no idea where the soundtrack complaints were coming from, even having that in my mind.

It will be an uphill battle for Part 2, I think.

My only issue was we had the most sterotypical horror movie in the theater black girl sitting right behind us the entire time. I'd never dealt with that before, had no idea it was actually as annoying as all the stuff parodying it let on <_<

I feel your your pain for different reasons. Ibuki was my girl, and her death hit me hard. My roomate was there at the time watching me play, and while he vocally said "that sucks", he claims I looked like someone had actually died during the reveal.

The Mikan reveal was also tough, I remember feeling pretty shitty that it happened. I tend to rank Mikan fairly low on the DR2 list, but I feel like it might have been opinion osmosis since the players on this board tend to lean pretty heavily anti-Mikan most of the time.

I mean, at the core level yes. Plot wise I have no idea, I've a avoided that like the plague (I fully expect the claim of no connection to the previous games to be total bullshit). A lot of interesting additions to the trial mechanics, a bunch of new trial games, and a looooooooooooot more bonus content and modes than previous entries. Even basic quality of life things like walking speed and cursor control are much improved, likely as a result of PS4 being the lead platform (PS4 versions of DR 1 and 2 do not have these changes).

Apocrypha is an incredibly shallow show, and isn't doing a good job living up to its modern pedigree. Like I said a while ago, though, obviously SOME big change is gonna have to happen for this to be two cour, and I'm excited to see what it is.

As it currently stands, the first 4 episodes of Wakfu S3 that have been subbed have had more engaging action scenes than any of Apocrypha's generic flashy air jousts so far.

I have put Ballroom and Restaurant on hold for time, and I think it says a lot that shows as sokid as they are gotta take a back seat. Every show on the remaining list is a high tier, except Fate which is....still good, but being overshadowed by expectations I think. Mordred is best girl, but that can't carry a show with a cast that huge, and Astolfo is the only other notably good character to me.
