I have a question. When did the a instead of er begin? Was it dialect that carried over? I always kind of assumed it was due to music and the a sound rhyming / flowing more in song.

Speaking as a linguist rather than a black person (my family is African so I've never picked up the typical dialect) I'd have to assume it came out of the dialect, since it just follows the trend in black vernacular or replacing the -er ending of words with a schwa or "uh" sound. Think of how blacks pronounce words like "finger" or "rider" hell, even something like "cheddar". It's not necessarily something only done in rap, but in all honesty, rap is where most people hear the majority of black speech in their lives so it makes sense that your mind would go there first. Pronouncing -er endings is probably the easiest way to get called out for "sounding white" if you didn't grow up around a lot of black people.


So I watched the apology video... he seems genuine. I've never believed that I or anyone else is entitled to an apology when something like this happens, but it sounds like he feels bad about it so... cool. The part I found most convincing was that he said when he hears others say it online he finds it immature. He didn't go overboard by saying he's disgusted or that he gets offended or anything like that, just that he finds it dumb and immature which seems real as fuck. I appreciate that.

primary sources are always the best information. even if he made some really terrible statement that made himself look worse, it's better to see it for yourself rather than just reading about what someone else says about what someone else had to say about it on twitter.

PDP should be banned from youtube pretty much asap. He's done this garbage enough to warrant it. My only point is leftists pick and choose what to get mad at. The left can be equally vile all day long and never get called out for it.

Go look up the twitter responses for any conservative minority, especially conservative black people. It's disgusting, and you'll never see the left talk about it. The worst was when Ben Carson endorsed Trump. I can't link tk any of it until Allen updates the site and allows nsfw posts, but it's easy enough to find.

And for the record, it didn't slip by how gamers universally hated PDP until he started acting like a racist sexist idiot, then magically gamers started defending the dude. They, the people who defend this nonsense, are equally to blame for it. I just say it should be enforced across the board instead of ignoring it if the one doing it is on "our side". Screw that.

the difference is that PDP is literally the biggest guy on youtube, so obviously this gets a lot of attention. nobody gives a shit about random idiots saying racist shit about ben carson.
