You get more done in 16 hours if you sleep for 8 than you do in 19 hours if you sleep for 5. For places near me, I tried Novanta recently, but that's mostly a pizza place, one that tries to be authentically Italian. It was pretty good. But it's not like... a broad Italian place. The youngest castaways from the first five seasons are all now 37-40. We're approaching the day when the oldest contestant on a current season could have been the youngest contestant years ago. I feel old. That's pretty amazing, though. I've been watching Survivor over half my life. I was 12 on May 31, 2000 when I tuned into this new show that was being hyped up... that was one of the most pivotal days of my life, no doubt. I've heard mixed things about the place, which is probably why it came to mind. I don't get out to the North Side very often. So you can scratch that off the list. Cento is an expensive date night place. Owned by Food Fight, so you know it's good. Also Eno Vino works. That's a new place that I haven't gotten to yet because of crowds and a lack of funding. I can say that our Italian selection pales in comparison to Chicago or anywhere in New York state. But it doesn't mean we don't HAVE it. My Immortal posted... Good Chinese places include Imperial Garden and Ichiban Sichuan. Good Japanese places include Takara, Muramoto, and Tavernakaya (Wisco-Japanese fusion, but still good). Italian places include Cento (expensive AF, though), Naples 15 and, Benvenuto's. There is EXCELLENT culinary diversity here - just as much as New York. | KujikawaRising 02/12/18 1:44:38 PM #40 | I can sell you on Madison in more detail... 1. Great restaurants. Anyone who has been here can vouch for how good the food is. Burgers, fish fry, pizza, all kinds of ethnic food... and almost all of it is good. The restaurant scene here is always lively and you'll definitely enjoy it. Just ignore SephyG - he hasn't even been here, so how the hell can he base it on something he 'heard" from an idiot? 2. On a budget? Woodman's is an amazing grocery store where you can get national brand items for $1-2 less than other places, so you wouldn't need to be stuck on instant noodles. The farmer's markets are excellent and have a wide selection, too... and you can use your food stamps at them. 3. Cost of living is decent. Better than any big city. Like you can get a good 1-bedroom apartment in a great area for $900 a month. Cheapest is $600 a month and that's not even in a bad area. Getting a job that pays for that isn't overly challenging. Getting a great job might be hard. Depends on what you're looking for. Fast food pay starts at $10 an hour, for example. 4. Friendly people. Seriously. You can chat with people on the street for a bit and they don't mind at all. People will let you cross from their cars at intersections that don't have traffic lights. Traffic isn't rage-inducing... usually. People are mindful compared to many other places I've been. 5. Public transit is great. Buses are sophisticated and make sense since they're run by the city government of Madison (in conjunction with Middleton for some bus routes). I have a car and yet I take the bus to and from work. Lets me hang out Downtown. 6. Weather is awesome 2/3rds of the year. Winter sucks, sure, and there are a few excessively humid days every summer where you need a shower after just going to get the mail (Dew Point is too close to the actual temp, so the humidity is VISIBLE). When the weather is nice, though, there's always something going on - the music scene, great restaurants, or college activities even. You don't need to be a student for those. Also, Geek.Kon every August. 7. You have me and MI. Two friends that can show you around and help you out. It's worth noting that Middleton is almost always in the top ten best mid-size cities to live (10,000 to 50,000 people) in Money Magazine. That's just some of it, too. Should I decide to hold Save My Survivor IV (which would probably happen after S40), the 120 left right now would be automatically in and the rest of the roster would be decided through some other means (probably not the same way I did it this time). If someone else does it I won't hold them to this. Why 120? To irritate me for missing one round? Make it 128. Then I'll say yes. Underleveled posted... 2. We're going up to two saves needed to advance next round. I'll bump up the number of saves per hour to prevent these from going for like 6+ hours but it won't be ridiculous (like 5 or 6 saves). The Encore/Leech Seed maneuver is risky - time it wrong and Jumpluff gets 2HKOed.
