Yu Narukami (MC) is as he appears in Persona 4. He has the persona Izanagi available, with all default skills from P4 learned in addition to all the moves from Persona 4 Arena, with the exception of his mortal blow or gameplay mechanics (invincibility frames, etc). He also can freely switch to his persona Thor, who only has their natural non-passive skills and elemental affinities. Null Physical is not available.

Bass.EXE is as he appears in the Megaman Battle Network series, with access to all the moves and properties of his Omega forms (including Bass Omega GS), though if any of his barriers/auras is destroyed, he loses access to all of them for the rest of the fight. He can operate here same as he does on the Net. He has also inhaled Link from Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask, gaining a set of moves fitting him. Thanks to the Triforce of Courage, his parameters have been doubled. He has also inhaled Bass.EXE from the Megaman Battle Network series, gaining a set of moves fitting him. He may freely switch to his persona Kohryu, as it appears in Persona 4, who only has their natural non-passive skills and elemental affinities. Samarecarm is not available. He will be unable to use magic for the first minute of battle.

Location of the fight: The Undernet - The Undernet is as it appears in Megaman Battle Network 2, with all the regular inhabitants cleared out and everything unlocked. It is a long series of floating walkways and platforms. Access to any other area is not allowed. Attackers will start at the entrance to Area 1, with defenders starting in the depths of Area 7.. Which side will win?


Guidelines

- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.

Ellie is as she appears in the endgame of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, equipped with the Pinaka and a Godly Emblem, with all Radiant skills other than Endless Act and Endless Song, and no Extra skills. Virion is an Assassin with the Command skills Grand Tack, Myriad Arrows, Thunder Strike, Inferno Strike, Overload, Power Charge and Stealth, as well as the Passive skills Bow Expertise EX, Elec Expertise, Fire Expertise, Absorb Elec, Shura's Soul, Dodge Feather and Pierce.

Senator Steven Armstrong is as seen in his boss fight in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, with access to all of his powers and abilities. He cannot access Metal Gear Excelsius. During this match, It Has To be This Way will play loudly all over the terrain.

Urdnot Wrex is as he appears in the Mass Effect series, with all of his available talents from Mass Effect 1 at maximum level. He comes to battle equipped with the M-300 Claymore Shotgun (with Shredder Mod V), the Graal Spike Thrower Shotgun (with Omni Blade V), and the Striker Assault Rifle (with Magazine Upgrade V), all as they appear in Mass Effect 3.

Tira is as she appears in Soul Calibur V, with access to all her moves, although she must charge her Critical Edge/Brave Edge moves before using them. She will swap loyalties 30s after the teams meet, and will continue to swap loyalties every 30s. Neither team will initially be aware of this.

OK. So. To me, this match basically comes down to terrain interactions. To understand why, go the conventions and peep the first clause.

-No mercenary can ever start in a location where they would die instantly or end up ringed out of the terrain before abilities. If there's no room within a terrain to fit them, the terrain will stretch out until there's at least one yard of available, moving, safe space.

There's two ways to take this:

A) Mercs preferrably start at the starting point, but if there's no room there they're shunted off to places where they fit. If there's no room anywhere, the terrain stretches out a little so they don't get instagibbed.

B) Mercs always start at the starting point. It grows as needed to accomodate overlarge teams, or teams with colossal creatures in them.

If you take approach A, I don't think Eddv's victory is arguable - arwings should spawn right next to Tiro's team because there's space there, and wreck them with a fast crash or a barrage of gunfire. If you take approach B, however, Tiro has a very good chance because the arwings are bound to crash and this means the mostly heroic team of Eddv will spend its time rescuing survivors, letting the seconds tick down until Lightning Returns (Final Fantasy 13) and then this match becomes a boosted animal Ryu3, Cloud, Lightning, Lilith and Terra vs Eddv's team, which is pretty fair. It kinda sucks, but to me this very close match comes down to terrain/rules interp. And I think interp B makes more sense, so...Team Ryu takes it, I think. Sorry Eddv :-/

The actual reason we don't know is because Accession is written like shit and doesn't specify which base dragon form Ryu3 actually takes while dragoning out - like, is it a Myrmidon? Warrior? Kaiser? This matters, it makes a difference, and we have no fuckin clue ATM. My take is that at most you get a Kaiser Dragon base if the genez are awesome and then apply the parameter buffs and abilities of the gene'd mercs on top, but that's just me.

So here's how I see things so far:

-Archer's turbodead.
-There's probably an arwing pileup to start off. A solid chunk of the W100 should survive tho.
-Ryu3's invisibility is being overvalued. Zeratul has psi so he can track cloaked units.
-Lightning's delay kinda matters since it means it's just ryu3, Cloud, Lilith and Terra vs Elma, Zeratul, the surviving Wonderful Ones, Mega Man and maybe Fox.

So the question is - guys, assume invisibility for Ryu3 doesn't matter here. Who wins that clash, and why?

This match may appear to be a stomp, but it's closer than it would appear. The terrain is an indoor bar that's somehow been stretched out to fit 102 Arwings with at least 1 yard of space. That's not a lot of wiggle room, and even competent pilots would struggle to keep from crashing into each other. When a chain reaction of Arwing crashes happens, this match will come down to which side is better equipped to handle the carnage, and my team has:
-Comatose Archer may be comatose, but he's still tanky!
-Lilith is 100% stat boosted and able to Phasewalk away from the damage.
-Ryu3 not only has Devil Trigger available to him to heal, he also has Kain's Blood Shower - an AoE life drain move. He's also stealthy and (presumably) can fly away from the crashes that are happening.
-Finally, Lightning conveniently arrives a minute and a half late and avoids the carnage and also Aethers any Wonderful 100 members still left after arriving.

No one on the opposing team would be able to tank that many Arwing crashes, so I think that survivability is definitely in my favor here.

The Wonderful 100 are as they appear in their on-foot Unlimited Form in The Wonderful 101, with Red, Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow, White, Black, Vorkken, Chewgi, Immorta, and 90 civilians that are equipped with Tiny Wonder Masks. They have all their techniques (except Hero Block), moves, upgrades, and custom blocks (except Ukemi). They don't have any additional Tiny Wonder Masks.

Ryu is as seen in the endgame of Breath of Fire 3, equipped with the Royal Sword, Divine Helm, Laquer Shield, and Shaman's Ring, and has combined the genes of Dante, Zeratul, and Kain to create a powerful Dragon hybrid form with aspects from the three. He may freely transform between normal and dragon form, and has all abilities except for Raise Dead and Resurrect, master skills, or enemy skills. He also has a Thunder-based breath/claw attack, as well as a 105% boost to all parameters. He may cast Blood Shower as seen in Blood Omen, may access Devil Trigger for 10 seconds every 5 minutes in battle and will be permanently invisible, detectable only by the shimmer of light refracting against his cloak.

Nilin is as she appears in Remember Me, fully upgraded with all of her Pressens and S-Pressens apart from Sensen RIP. She has been assigned to push Archer's wheelchair around, prioritizing the safety of the wheelchair-bound merc above all else.

Cloud Strife is as seen in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, with access to the First Tsurugi and any abilities/skills granted by that equipment. He additionally has access to all magic (green) FF7 materia and his wing from Kingdom Hearts.

Terra is as she appears in Dissidia and at the end of FF6A, equipped with full Genji armour, Apocalypse, a Hero Ring, and a Gold Hairpin. She has all her natural magic, as well as those gained from Unicorn and Bahamut, including Raise. She does not, however, have Arise, Teleport, Break, Graviga, or Meltdown. She can enter Trance form at any time for 30 seconds (which also grants her access to EX mode), although it will go on cooldown for 2 minutes upon ending.

Archer is as seen in Fate/Stay Night's Unlimited Blade Works route. He may project Kanshou and Bakuya, Caladbolg, and his bow, as well as any other weapon seen in this fight, but may not project anything else. He may not use his Reality Marble, nor turn incorporeal and may be affected by conventional weapons despite his status as a servant. He will be confined to a wheelchair and braindead for the first minute of battle, returning to his normal self after that much time has passed. He will start the fight next to Zeratul, viciously uppercut by him.

Lightning is as she appears in the endgame of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, with a schemata set-up featuring a balance of her strongest physical, magical and debuffing skills and equipment, and with limited use of Curaga. She will arrive a minute and a half late to battle. She will benefit from a 50% boost to all parameters for as long as Lilith remains alive.

Lilith is as she appears during the events of Borderlands 2, fully adapted to her Eridium-enhanced powers. She has fully mastered the Controller skill tree, and is equipped with the HellFire, Baby Maker and Tsunami SMGs, the Cobra, Penetrator and Lyuda sniper rifles and the Flame of the Firehawk shield, with Corrosive ammo for the Penetrator and Slag ammo for the rest. She cannot mass teleport mercs or objects. She has been given Cloud's motorcycle, Fenrir, for her to ride on. She will benefit from a 100% boost to all parameters for as long as Lightning remains alive.

Attackers will start by the turbine, while defenders will start behind the bar.. Which side will win?

Knuckles is as he appears in the Sonic games, an echidna who can glide along with his trademark strength, punching, and digging abilities. He and the Wonderful 100 have all of the knowledge and experience that comes from starring in Star Fox 64, and are piloting Arwings as seen in that game as well. He has been given a Tiny Wonder Mask by the Wonderful 100.

Mega Man is as seen in Mega Man Series. He has access to his Mega Buster, his Magnet Beam, all of his weapons from the mainline Mega Man series (1-10) aside from the Time Stopper, Flash Stopper, Gravity Hold, Centaur Flash and Astro Crush and his moveset from Marvel vs Capcom 2, but may only use his hypers if he has enough meter and the necessary robots are present. He also has a variety of weapons based on his defeated foes, allowing him to use Red Lightning Hose and Blade Beam.

Eddie is as he appears in the mainline Mega Man series. He is carrying one E-Tank, and will attempt to remain hidden until Mega Man is low on health, at which point he will attempt to give him the E-Tank.

Zeratul is as he appears in the Starcraft series and Heroes of the Storm, with all of his skills other than Void Prison. He will be permanently invisible, detectable only by the shimmer of light refracting against his cloak.

Elma is as she is seen in Xenoblade Chronicles X in her mimeosome, a max level Full Metal Jaguar with all of her arts and skills fully upgraded. She has a Verus Cain skell, outfitted with its default Machine Gun, B-Claw, G Buster, SHD-Ray, Lasergun, and Grenade, along with a Beamsaber, Cracker-FL, Minigun, and Shield.

Fox McCloud is as he appears in the Star Fox series, piloting the fully upgraded Arwing in all-range mode as seen in Star Fox 64 in from the nearest convenient location to his team. He has no bombs. He may leave the cockpit but will only have his Blaster from Star Fox: Assault if he does so.

Kefka is as he appears in FF6A in the last battle, having access to all attacks and skills from the fight aside from Trine and Heartless Angel. He additionally has all his Brave and HP attacks from Dissidia: Final Fantasy, as well as the Exhilarating Magic skill. All of his weapons have been enchanted with divine power.

Shulk is as he appears in Xenoblade Chronicles, with all arts and skill trees learned and fully upgraded. He is equipped with the Monado II and Glory set of armour. Shulk also has access to his Super Smash Bros 4. version of Monado Arts, though they only affect him and have their drawbacks as well.

Sorey is as he appears in Tales of Zestiria, with all orbs and talismans (though they buff only himself and his seraphim) and an endgame skill build. He enters the battle with 5 Blast Gauges and may armatize freely with his seraphim and Kefka during the course of the battle, but armatization cannot be used to revive anyone. He does not have access to Siegfried.

Lailah, Mikleo, Edna and Dezel are accompanying Sorey into battle. They are as they appear in Tales of Zestiria, with an endgame skill build. They will enter battle with 5 Blast Gauges, and will be permanently invisible and inaudible to Shulk, Sonic, Potemkin, Akuma and The Prince. Only one Seraph may be on the battlefield at a time, with Lailah beginning on the battlefield, and the others dwelling inside him. He may swap between them as seen in the game, and inactive seraphim will heal gradually over time, including from death, but they are considered defeated once Sorey is killed.

Golbez is as he appears in Final Fantasy IV. He has access to all of his spells and techniques from both FFIV and The After Years, including Barrier Shift. He may not use binding cold or summon the Shadow Dragon.

The Shadow Dragon is as seen in Final Fantasy IV. It may use its Black Fang attack to instantly kill any paralyzed or any similarly helpless foes. It may not use Black Fang otherwise.

Location of the fight: Prison Terrace - The terrace of Prison Island as seen during the first visit to Prison Island. Access to the rest of Eryth Sea is not allowed, and Zanza/NPCs are not present. The interior of Prison Island cannot be accessed, though the immediate surrounding skies are accessible. Attackers will start at the bottom of the terrace, with defenders starting at the top of the steps.. Which side will win?

Sonic is as he appears in the Sonic series and Smash 4 (minus game mechanics), in his base form at his canon levels. He does not have any emeralds, Chaos Control, or weird things like that.

Potemkin is as he appears in Guilty Gear Xrd, with access to all of his moves except gameplay mechanics (invincibility frames, etc). His instant kill won't necessarily kill everything in one shot.

Akuma is as he appears in the Street Fighter and Vs. series, with all of his moves, although he must charge supers before he can use them.

The Prince is as he appears in the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time series, with his time powers specifically from Warrior Within. He may transform into his Dark Prince alter ego at will. He additionally has his Djinn powers save for Power of Time and Memory.

pretty much. It redirects as if Fox was picking targets so 'enemy' because 'his enemy' I think, even though it requires the original user to be there for the purposes of actually resolving. And yeah, I feel like it counts as single target. One merc is targeted even if multiples are affected. It's wacky but makes sense.

Shirou's the first to speak up about the fate of the unconscious Kei.

Heh. Right on the money as always, Ellie. Shirou's just curious about what it takes for one of the ORTs to die, which is a waste - Ren knows, he killed (well, 'killed' Spinne). Ren rebuts him, because performing experiments on Kei to determine what it takes to kill her feels sick and twisted. It's wrong to kill an unconscious enemy who can't defend herself.

Call it naïve, but killing someone wounded and defenseless was too low for me. And seeing how I couldn't bring myself to do that, I had only one option available. After all, there was still much we didn't know.

"Let's capture her and keep her prisoner. There's stuff I'd like to ask her."

Both members of the Dynamic Duo exchange knowing looks.

"You're starting to grow attached to her 'cause she saved your ass back there?"

Ren denies it, but they fluster him real good. Toooootally not my waifu (candidate), guys! Totally! Shirou then goes for the kill.

"Well, people like Twitsumi are more of your specialty, yeah?"

Yep, we're on that route- I mean yeah Ren's a purehearted waifu kinda guy- I mean shaddap Shirou

Anyway, Shirou decides to let it go, just this once. Ellie goes to work on Kei, and just then, the lights go out once more. It's impossible to treat Kei like this. Time to head somewhere with more light where Ellie can work on her, like a VIP room.

The flash of lightning burned into my eyes, blinding me.

The scope of Cain's raging lightning strike dwarfed all others that came before — even I would have been torn to shreds, had I taken a direct hit from it.

I knew that. All too well. Yet in spite of that, I couldn't bring myself to move an inch. Rather than being frozen by the sheer magnitude of that unparalleled destructive power, it was more like I was cursed by this freak's existence itself. I'd be seeing pearly gates in my near future if this kept up...

"...!"

For some reason, Sakurai cut in between us. That was what saved me. The floor shook with a tremendous sound, splitting apart along with the walls while I found myself blown back a dozen or so meters. As the echoes of destruction continued to roar, I saw something fall to my feet...it was Sakurai. Needless to say, she was all battered and wounded from Cain's attack.

Kei survives, but only just, by blocking the blow. Dumbfounded, Ren does the only thing he can: ask why. Why did she save him...? It only makes sense when he turns it around. What if she was trying to save Cain instead? And suddenly...yes, it clicks. But there's no time to ponder things before a massive ache in his neck distracts him. The third Swastika has been opened. Lisa speaks up to soothe him.

"Rest easy, we're leaving for the night. And I know I have no right to be asking this of you, Fujii, but...take care of Leon. She's difficult to deal with, but deep down, she isn't a bad girl..."

Lisa leaves, just like that, leaving Kei in Ren's care. With the opening of the Swastika, her job is done. She has no reason to remain here. Ren screams, calling out to her, but his weakened body can't chase after her. Her last words linger behind, hauntingly.

"I hope you live...don't die..."

The curtain of Cain's mask spreads to envelop the entire Pit. Then, he, Lisa, and all the lingering bodies are gone.

"She devoured them...man, she sure knows how to enter and exit with style, huh?"

It's Shirou. The sunsabitch survived, as did Ellie, of course. Ren immediately launches into a bitchfest because he nearly died due to Shirou's whole plan. They shut him down easily, of course. Ren then tries to guilt trip himself about all the people who died, but they see right through it and shut THAT down as well.

"Anyway, it's at times like this where you should think positive by focusing on defeating the bad guys, right? Which leads to a problem..."

And boy what a problem it is.

"What do we do about her?"
