I may give it a shot down the road because it's still one of my favorites
Keep in mind I've only ever watched a couple episodes of the anime so I only roughly remember the characters and their personalities (also always remember that my taste in things, especially television are heavily vibes based).

That being said, I've watched the first 3 episodes (and will watch the other two tomorrow) and am enjoying it for what it is. The main cast (more specifically Yuusuke + Kuwabara) are carrying the show for me. Also I don't think the show is following the anime at all, which you might not like.

That was also my opinion until one episode (roughly halfway through in the second season, I believe, but it's been many years) that's pretty much all Mugi, after which Mugi was best girl.

It is indeed a pretty well-balanced cast, though, with the show's enjoyability hinging more on the chemistry between them than relying entirely on one or two strong personalities to carry it.
Are you talking about the episode where Mugi wants Ritsu to slap her Ritsu tries to get Mugi to do a bunch of ridiculous stuff to get Mio to try and slap her but fails miserably every time even when she tries to steal the strawberry off of Mio's slice of cake leading to the ending where Ritsu is so embarrassed by Mugi's compliment she ends up slapping her off camera?

Yes, that was a great episode.

I can see why people don't like Konoha, I just don't take characters "seriously" like that. I'm along for the ride, and find it completely reasonable for Konoha to be mixed about wanting to change the timeline (while accidentally changing the timeline). Not all characters are perfect. She finally does make a decision in the latest episode.

I'm specifically not spoiling the latest episode because by the looks of it you haven't seen it yet (which is reasonable as it came out like 2 hours ago).

16bit Sensation continues to be anime of the season and it's not even close. Konoha is just such an absurd character and her desire to make a "modern" eroge in 1999 is so much fun. The fact that this is all anime original (the manga is radically different) is all the more better.

You're more or less thinking in the right direction. There's reason enough why I choose not to spend money, and if I really wanted to push foor something, I'd have no issues getting it. However for petty things like entertainment, I just don't see the value in spending money right now and that's the path I've been down for the past few years now. This is something of my own choosing.

I just simplify it as "I have no money", because that's the easiest way of explaining it to myself and people who ask.

"I don't have money I feel comfortable spending" is probably the best way to explain it.

Runescape just isn't cutting it for me right now and the past year and a half grind has burned me out. Generally I have a philosophy where I can tolerate a game as long as either I can tolerate its developers or its community. If I have issues with both of them, I can't play that game any longer.

My way of discovering games is to... look at /vg/. It is an "accurate" measure of the most active 200 or so games at any given time, and after reviewing what games are active (by filtering out the ones I'm not interested in) I resulted in... 0 games I want to play.

This is a semi-rare occurrence, but it's only gotten worse over the past few years with how many mobile games there are and how utterly uninterested I am in them.

So thread I guess.

What baffles me is their justification for not having one. Maybe they've changed their philosophy since I heard them say this a few years ago, but they insisted that Diablo 3's shortcomings were because trade was too easy and that over-centralized the game around trading.
No this is just how Chris thinks. Chris believes the game should have friction and many things the players like are usually antagonistic to his design vision. Playing trade and paying attention to streamers really shows a lot of interesting facets to the game's itemization, namely around TFT's existence and harvest gambling and a funny recent example of the latter:

I've been liking it considerably more than the last time I played, actually, which was like early 2018ish (mid-Abyss League). There are significantly more options available for endgame content now than just "do the same few maps indefinitely," with the Atlas passive tree being a really cool way of manipulating the extra content that does show up in maps according to what I enjoy most or am trying to farm. It's added a lot of variety and lots of different avenues for progression, which has been fun.
Yea you missed a LOT of good leauges in that time. Your perspective makes a lot more sense. There was a really rough patch the last couple of years between expedition and Sanctum where GGG just was not giving a crap and was openly hostile towards players with some of the worst game design decisions imaginable. For me Ruthless + ExileCon was a "last nail in the coffin for me" along with nerfs to some of my favorite builds like Ward Loop (I was one of the first people to ever experiment with the build) and mechanics (I was making around 10 div/hr doing Flawless Chayulas solo in Sanctum). GGG then going out and making two leagues that I thought were awful in comparison and then focusing on Ruthless (and lying to the community) really rubbed me the wrong way.

adjl posted...
I've been playing SSF this league
I played exclusively SSF between Incursion and Expedition and I missed out on so much. Game got so much better (for me) once I returned to trade and could make the builds I wanted to make. There was a period where I was basically being pidgeonholed into playing builds I didn't like because they were easy to gear, and this was a point in the game where I went and got 36/40 in a league like Heist SSF.

I think that's pretty much a comprehensive list, though, and even then, Skies of Arcadia and Paper Mario are the only "traditional" JRPG's on there, and SoA was a remake. FE is strategy, BK, PSO3, and Lost Kingdoms were card battlers (weirdly ahead of the current popularity of deckbuilding RPGs, now that I think about it >.>), Lost Kingdoms and Tales are action JRPG's, and Crystal Chronicles just made pretty much everyone ask "why is this called Final Fantasy?". For people that wanted "more games like Final Fantasy," there wasn't a whole lot, whereas the PS2 had a metric ton of them (including FF itself).
The irony is that the PS2 had Symphonia (you had to import it) and the better collection of Tales games. The Gamecube just had Symphonia, which did get people into the series but I know that there were plenty of people in the community at the time that imported Destiny 2, Rebirth and Destiny Remake because they got into Tales through Abyss and Symphonia and to a lesser extent the fan translations of Phantasia and Narakiri Dungeon 3 (how I got into Tales).

It's also pretty crazy that Tales has been pretty dead relative since Xilia and I don't remember Arise being all that well received (I didn't even buy Arise after how much I disliked Berseria)
