I do really think the first game could use a remake. It has a lot of potential story-wise and basically started the entire franchise (which went on to become one of my favorites) but the first game was bogged down by excessively repetitive mission structure

I don't agree with worrying about the pacing for S2. I don't know a lot about Runaways plotlines, but I'd imagine S2 will finish the Jonah threat. S1 was essentially just real-long buildup of who are the characters.

Yeah, but we basically knew who the characters were in the first couple of episodes

The vast majority of the season was trying to find a way to stop the parents

but in the finale, there's no payoff in that regard. The big fight that the end of E9 suggested just immediately ended at the beginning of E10 (what the fuck was that, by the way, what a shitty cliffhanger after how much was built up to that) and then the parents just decided that they were gonna be good now

I got so hyped up at the end of episode 9 for shit to finally happen

and then shit doesn't happen

Now I'm worried S2's going to have even worse pacing, as they try to avoid any sort of actual resolution

also, not a fan of how much they tried to bring up sympathy for the parents (aside from Jonah obviously) in the back half of the season. It's like they want the viewers to just forget they all participated in murdering 15 kids.

also also that dinosaur didn't do a single thing all season. What's the point of having a DINOSAUR on your show if it's entire role is to just hide and wait?

also also also all the kids are super dumb

I thought the show had flaws but I was still digging it most of the way through

I accidentally saw that in the comic apparently Alex was a mole and turns against the team, but in this, I guess Frank's essentially taking his role? That's... underwhelming.

For LIS though, I think all of the previous episodes had better endings than the final one did.

I don't think it's really fair to compare the episode endings with the final one

the other 4 episodes just had to end on cliffhangers while the final episode had to try to resolve the entire game

Reinhardt used to be awesome for it, because his shield could block turrets and he could charge away after

I can't imagine these characters as anything but a unit. Their character arcs are so intertwined with each other that talking about one without the other is pointless.

Kind of have to disagree with this. I mean yeah, their character arcs are intertwined, but I do think they (Ellie especially) are more than just their relationship with each other.

One of the strongest developed character arcs for Ellie came in Left Behind, when Joel wasn't even in the picture yet

I'm a huge fan of PTA, and this one was by far the worst I've seen of his. Every time I read glowing praise of the film I honestly wonder if I even watched the same movie.

And it's not like aggressively bad or anything like that. It's just... it's a 130 minute movie that could've (and probably should've) been a short film.
