I had a friend who didn't smoke but would carry around a pack so that when someone would ask to bum one he'd have one and could get a conversation going. It worked very well!

The final Ted/Alexis break up scene really fucked me up. It's partly me projecting my own circumstances onto theirs (I've been in/am in a very similar dilemma), but it's also such a powerful moment that's both sad and uplifting. This is a scene I will have to skip on most my repeat viewings because I know it will leave me in a funk for days.

I don't like using spoiler tags so I preemptively put the tag in the title so we can discuss freely. I will refrain from spoilers in my OP, but they're fair game after that!

I just finished it the other day and I've been ruminating on it quite a bit. It's a very wholesome show that models healthy relationships and break-ups while still being very funny and entertaining. It's rare to find a show founded on such positivity, and even more so one that's able to elicit a lot of emotion from the viewer.

Anyone else here seen it? If not, I definitely recommend it!

Get into hard drugs. You will meet a lot of people. Some may eventually become friends.

Alternatively, find a group meet-up or convention for an activity or thing you enjoy. There's always opportunities to socialize at events.

You would think that people with mental health problems would at least be a bit for compassionate towards people with mental health problems.

Generalizations can only get you so far. I've met plenty of compassionate people who have gone through or are going through mental health struggles. I've met plenty of assholes who have gone through or are going through mental health struggles. For many it's hard to have compassion or consideration when their own struggles are taking front and focus. It's why you can't rely on Internet randos when you need a professional.

Based on what you've written, your refusal to seek some sort of therapeutic help will only hinder you in the end. Trust me, I get it. I was resistant to getting mental health treatment for the longest time. I figured I could just power through and it'd get easier in time. But it only gets easier if you have the right tool set and support network. Therapy is one of the first steps to creating that.

It might be worth looking into a remote service (BetterHelp, LemonAid, Cerebral), because you can choose to do it through mostly textual means which I imagine will be a good transition for you since you say you're comfortable here and PotD is a textual medium. They work with your schedule and are mostly affordable, even without insurance.

I really wouldn't recommend coming to PotD for serious help. Sure, there's a handful of nice people here, but overall this place is toxic and not conducive to positive growth.

Ape Escape was one of my first loves on the original PlayStation. I absolutely adored that game. Played and completed the sequels as well, but I personally felt tonally they went in a more cartoony direction. The first game was this great balance of comedy, surrealism, and seriousness. The later two games dropped most the "serious" aspects, which still fits in with a game about netting mischievous monkeys, but it didn't hit me in quite the same way. Regardless, I always hope they'll make a new Ape Escape game. The series is very unique, as you said, and there's a lot of potential for it to grow.

Im going to mail these findings to Bethany McParland, a girl I sat next to in algebra 12 years ago who decided we should be "just friends". Nice to know I've been proven right, yet again.

Yeah! As kriem's link says they're fermented. I've only ever had it in this specific dish, I believe. But I have had this kind of salad at a few different Burmese/South East Asian restaurants. Burma Love definitely has one of the best ones I've tried. I've seen prepacked versions of this salad at Whole Foods in the Bay Area when I worked there too, so that might be worth looking into if you're curious to try it out and can't find any local Burmese restaurants. They weren't as good as what I've gotten from restaurants, but they were still passable.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty incredible storytelling. The gameplay got a bit stale, but it wasn't a long game and the story more than engages enough. I primarily play for story anyway. Next to the movie Clean, Shaven it's also one of the most well-done portrayals of a schizophrenia I've seen in any media. They did a great job. Those constant whispers are hella creepy.

My only disappointment is I haven't had an Xbox since the original and the sequel is going to be exclusive to it.

I used to live on a farm in South with a big family. We'd have a small breakfast that the lady of the house made, usually biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs, fruit, etc. and pack a light lunch of fresh bread and cheese for while we worked the fields. After working the fields all day we'd come back to a communal feast of Southern comfort food that the women of the house prepared. One of my favorites was the Grandma's fried chicken. I ate like this every day for over six years and I'm built like an ox.
