... I think it's fair to say that he is one of those people who shaped popular culture. Not just anime/manga or video game culture, but pop culture in general.

Almost ALL creative people who are making things now are influence by the works of Toriyama, just as much as they are influenced by a Steven Spielberg, Shigeru Miyamoto, or Michael Jackson.

He will be missed, but his influence will stay with us forever.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided - I had such a fun time with the game despite how it fundamentally is like... half a game. It is hugely flawed in that way but I still really enjoy it.

Alpha Protocol - Ohhh man, this game is so much fun despite how jank and honestly terrible most of the combat is.

I was hoping that Cyberpunk would be an elevation of the concepts of HR, but I was a bit disappointed on that front.

From what I understand, it is tantamount to attacking a holy site. It is like a war crime.

I never read the source material so just from watching it I think it does a good job. It seemed to go by too quickly and could have spent more time on the Water of Life stuff and whatnot, but it felt good.

Oh fuck, now I have to go into work in this. I love being a supervisor.

And if they are talking about in Chapter 1, narratively it would make sense that Shinra would paint safe areas to climb with some big bright color as they were trying to navigate up the mountain to put the reactor there. *shrug*

Gonna be an inside kind of day.

I kinda thought the point of Dune and especially Paul's story is that on a universal/galactic scale, it is impossible to be a ruler and be a fair and just ruler to everyone. Too many people, too many ideologies, too many opposing forces to try to placate. When you can see into the future you are already bound by fate.

So the Bene Jesserit both kinda... created the mythology of the Haderich but also kinda fucked themselves over? Are they responsible for CREATING the Haderich itself with their own myths and whatnot, or did they see that this figure was supposed to come due to the Spice and they were just trying to ensure they could control their own "God" when they arrived?

Did they assure their own failure? Let's say they didn't try to shape things and just let everything transpire as their visions showed them, would Paul ever have ascended to become the Haderich? Cause it's definitely NOT supposed to be him and instead be his sister.
