series so good after getting caught up i'm reading the colored manga. bringing back good memories (from a year ago). story is so good.

I might check out the colorized manga after I catch up too. Curious to see whats different, and it sounds like the pacing is way smoother in the manga so hopefully wont take me as long as the show has.

Think Im gonna start watching the movies pretty soon too, since I think all of them except the newest one is ok to watch after Whole Cake

Luffy vs Katakuri is a pretty top tier fight. Katakuri fucking stabbing himself to keep the fight fair cause he was enjoying the challenge so much? Thats fucking metal bro, good on you Katakuri

I think I've only got like, 10 more eps left in Whole Cake, almost there!

Ive really enjoyed Whole Cake so far honestly. Depending on how it ends, it might be my favorite arc after Impel down/Marineford. Its the most batshit setting yet, gave some badass moments to almost everyone involved, especially Brook who I feel like hasnt gotten to do a ton in the past so thats been nice. I like that Big Mom and her gang have honestly kind of by far been Luffy and cos biggest threat yet. Theyve taken Ls before, but since the beginning of the arc with Luffy eating a poison fish by accident every thing keeps going terribly wrong for them. Of course I want them to ultimately succeed, but its kind of nice to see Luffy have to really work for their success here.

Also this is the first time since like, fucking Skypeia that Sanjis even kind of likeable. I know it wont last forever, but its a nice glimpse of what could have been if his yucky tropes were toned down a good bit in the rest of the series.

Also Im loving the Katakuri fight, his fucking donut break was legit hilarious.

All good; I think Im pretty immune to One Piece spoilers at this point. Still wanna go in as blind as possible, but Ive had so many little things here and there spoiled that it just kinda is what it is.

Yeah, the being a pervert is funny gags are definitely the worst thing about this show, by far. Rest of the show is damn near perfect, but those certain moments can get kinda rough at times.

Whole Cake's great, but it's definitely taking its time.

I dont mind it too much though, this arc has been pretty bat shit crazy. Given everybody involved some really cool moments. Especially Brook, he's really been a highlight of this arc, glad to see him finally get some super badass moments.

Sanji's also the best he's ever been, but that's a pretty low bar tbh. Still, excluding his past as a character, he's actually been pretty cool this arc. >_>

Luffy jumping out of the cake with an army of feral hims was also probably a top-tier in the whole series moment.

Brook's great in this arc. Glad he's finally gotten some cool moments to shine, I feel like he hasn't gotten as many awesome moments as the rest of the crew. I do like Brook a lot though.

I just started the movies because I'm jonesing for the dub to get caught up.

I started with Strong World, and liked it. I watched Z yesterday, and liked it too, but it reminded me of this topic because Sanji is the most problematic as he could possibly be...

Maybe I'll wait to watch it till Whole Cake is done then. Sanji's actually been pretty decent in this arc, I'll need a reminder of how much I hate him afterwards lol.

So I could probably watch all of them up to at least Gold where I'm at though then, right?

And Stampede after I finish Whole Cake?

I want to watch the movies, but idk when in like, the timeline each of them is. Do I need to worry about show spoilers when watching them?

Ive heard a lot of people say One Pace is the way to go.

The pacing def isnt great, but I just skip through the obvious recaps and shit when they start to get out of hand.

Fishman Island was the only one that super felt like a slog to get through for me. Still the worst arc in the series so far IMO

Hes still my least favorite Straw Hat tho.

Oh damn, the Pudding reveal surprised me more than I would have thought. This arc is fucking brutal for the Straw Hats, I dont think theyve ever taken this many consistent Ls back to back before.

Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation just dropped on Netflix, and I highly recommend you watch it.

It's an adaptation of a one shot manga that Oda did in 1994.

Bump, really enjoying Whole Cake so far. I know the plan rarely works out for the crew, but you really feel it in this one. Everything keeps going wrong, Big Mom is always 3 steps ahead of them. Its a pretty brutal arc so far, and Im loving it.

Also, Big Mom eating all these sentient candies and sweets is low key horrifying.

Yo, Whole Cake is wild so far. Luffy almost legit dying cause he ate fish skin, Sanji being in an assassin family, Big Mom going rampage in her own city and killing her own son, god damn.

Side note, it's kinda interesting how comfortable the group is now about splitting up when needed. Early on I feel they didn't do it as much, but after the time skip, they're all confident that they'll always meet back up.

I've tried reading One Piece twice but couldn't get into it. I think it was the lack of color.

If you can't get into the manga maybe try the anime. Definitely lots of color lol; I remember the art style of the manga not really working for me either when I tried reading it as a kid, but I've had no issues watching the show for whatever reason.

Would probably recommend using One Pace tho. I've been watching it as is, but mainly because I've been watching on my PS5.

Done with Zou. Ended up liking it a good bit. Short and sweet, yet had a good amount of lore dropped on us.

Sad to see Kinemon and Law stepping back from the crew for a bit, but they had a really good run with the strawhats. Wasnt sure how I felt about Kinemon initially back in Punk Hazard, but I ended up really liking his presence.
