I still haven't gotten caught up on Wano despite being near the end. I watch the dub, and the new ones aren't on the Funimation app yet (despite being on Crunchyroll).

Just give it a couple arcs, trust me. He seems really cool at first, but he gets really shitty for a long time

It's tragic. Oda never seems to get over this old fashioned Japanese comedy idea that a pervert is hilarious and peeping on women is comedy gold. Even now he's still doing it.

downloaded the movies and i guess that would be my next step in this universe.

So I'm a little bit into Punk Hazard and a Luffy mentioned that both Sanji and Zoro can use Haki now, but I don't remember that being established before. I know Sanji can use Moonwalk but I don't remember either of them using Haki.

Was I just drunk during the last arc?

I forget which one that was, but I will admit some of the perv jokes do work so Sanji as a ladies man is still fine, there's just a line that I feel we don't agree on.

That's one of the weird ones although her response is pretty good iirc. Oda still thinks perving on ladies is somehow leading to a punch line instead of a restraining order.

Yeah, the being a pervert is funny gags are definitely the worst thing about this show, by far. Rest of the show is damn near perfect, but those certain moments can get kinda rough at times.

Also idk why but I really liked that little moment where Pedro lit Sanjis cigarette and they had a quick smoke break together.

It particularly hurts since Sanji was my favorite Straw Hat after the Baratie arc, but Oda has so meticulously assassinated his character over the years. He wasn't insufferable in earlier arcs like Alabasta or Skypiea and Whole Cake show he can still be good if he's written for character and not just that one damn gag... But then he slips back into a lot of stupid shit in Wano.

Probably gonna be pretty busy this week, but Im still slowly inching through Whole Cake.

All good; I think Im pretty immune to One Piece spoilers at this point. Still wanna go in as blind as possible, but Ive had so many little things here and there spoiled that it just kinda is what it is.

Not much longer at post 484. Anyway, One Piece is an awesome series. Crazy how well Oda has planned everything out, which becomes more apparent the longer you read it.

I've recently gotten way into One Piece, myself, but I'm kind of picking it up late in the run and letting flashbacks and theory videos from YouTube fill me in on the details as I go.

It's really good shit that I'm glad I picked back up after years of letting it slide on by.

I'm not the biggest fan of Whole Cake Island on the whole but it has great moments.

Whole cake does have good moments, worst part is big mom imo. Even in her backstory she's the least interesting one.

Ive really enjoyed Whole Cake so far honestly. Depending on how it ends, it might be my favorite arc after Impel down/Marineford. Its the most batshit setting yet, gave some badass moments to almost everyone involved, especially Brook who I feel like hasnt gotten to do a ton in the past so thats been nice. I like that Big Mom and her gang have honestly kind of by far been Luffy and cos biggest threat yet. Theyve taken Ls before, but since the beginning of the arc with Luffy eating a poison fish by accident every thing keeps going terribly wrong for them. Of course I want them to ultimately succeed, but its kind of nice to see Luffy have to really work for their success here.

Also this is the first time since like, fucking Skypeia that Sanjis even kind of likeable. I know it wont last forever, but its a nice glimpse of what could have been if his yucky tropes were toned down a good bit in the rest of the series.

Also Im loving the Katakuri fight, his fucking donut break was legit hilarious.

I haven't thought much on the "best" arc, the one I like the most is still jaya/skypeia. It was the first true mystery/adventure and was the start of some long standing plot, specifically poneglyphs and finding roger's message.

Best though... I think water 7, Nico Robin's origins and culminating with the "take me to sea" scene was peak of the show imo.

i like Big Mom but halfway through Whole Cake Island, she gets annoying when she doesnt stfu about her "WEDINGU CAKIIIII!!!!" over and over.

she's legit scary af tho. >_>

Sanji hasn't even done anything recently cause he hasn't been around, but it felt fitting.

Pretty deep into Impel Down; Luffy is fighting Magellen right now, who is a fucking wild adversary.

Impel Down has been pretty wild but great in general. Loving how many Albasta antagonists are making a resurgence this arc. Love Mr 2., glad they're back and playing an important part. Mr 3. and Buggy's loose alliance has been pretty entertaining as well.

Impel Down just as a place is frankly one of my favorite settings yet honestly. A badass prison break in, and the prison is specifically designed to be loosely themed on layers of hell? That's fucking dope.

I know shit's gonna keep getting crazy, so let's fucking go.

Luffy vs Katakuri is a pretty top tier fight. Katakuri fucking stabbing himself to keep the fight fair cause he was enjoying the challenge so much? Thats fucking metal bro, good on you Katakuri

I might check out the colorized manga after I catch up too. Curious to see whats different, and it sounds like the pacing is way smoother in the manga so hopefully wont take me as long as the show has.

Think Im gonna start watching the movies pretty soon too, since I think all of them except the newest one is ok to watch after Whole Cake

I have to remind myself how it good it was at times because the first thing that comes to mind is Big Mom chasing cake...which went on for nearly 50 episodes/chapters.

Just a heads up. You are almost done with Whole Cake right? The overall world-spanning plot ramps up quickly near the end of Onigashima so if you really want to go blind, you might want to stop posting there. At least until you manages to catch up with the latest episode.
