Theres no difference, given the context of the topic. Being against having a first female protagonist in GTA means youre against having a female protagonist in GTA. Being against having a first female protagonist in any series means youre against having a female protagonist in that series. Thats my point. Sequels get made a lot more than original, new series do, so in practice, if youre against adding a female protagonist to any series that doesnt have one, youre effectively against female protagonists in general moreso than not.

Im not saying every female protagonist is a first female protagonist, Im saying every first female protagonist is a female protagonist, so if youre against a first for a series, you might as well just say you dont want a female protagonist in that series. Its not the first part that truly bothers you, its the female part.

I don't think I've seen anybody say there should be no criticism, either. There's been a lot of criticism, just with the general final thought of "But I'm still having a lot of fun."

I agree it doesn't look great and should absolutely look better, I just see people break out the "PS2/Cube/N64/PS1/whatever games look better!" about Switch games all the time and it's just such a silly argument that I instantly dismiss it.

I definitely disagree with Prime 1, Sunshine, and Twilight Princess. Wind Waker I can't necessarily disagree with, but cel-shading is a completely different style and doesn't really feel like a fair comparison. Metroid Prime 2 I honestly can't remember, but looking it up on Youtube the outside areas look pretty bad even upscaled, so I probably disagree on that, too, at a glance.

The only one I'd give you at all is Wind Waker, but if you're really into the style, that's probably true of most Switch games.

It's not hyperbole at all, plenty of GC games look better than this run through an emulator. I guess if you don't count that and are comparing to raw 480 then sure.

For what its worth, they do use the word units in that specific context, since theyre pretty much using it to brag about Warzone causing more people to buy Modern Warfare.

As for Cold War, all I see is indication that it sold less than Modern Warfare, not necessarily significantly less, since it still topped charts for a good while. Vanguard was the one that saw a substantial drop in sales.

Actually, after some quick Googling, Forbes and other sites reported awhile ago that Activision themselves claimed Modern Warfare was the best selling game in the series. Exact numbers werent given, but it was said in an earnings call.

fighting is pretty hard given the spread of different series these days. guilty gear feels like it's more or less in the middle of all of them now, between all the anime and non-anime fighters, so i guess guilty gear strive's the current answer? sf2 for more retro fighters but it's not what comes to mind to me when i think of fighting games nowadays and i don't think the answer is necessarily any newer sf either

I feel like for something to be definitive, it has to be pretty widely played in relation to the genre, and Guilty Gear certainly (and sadly) is not that.

Nowadays, fighting games mostly come down to 2D vs. 3D. 3D is pretty easily Tekken, 2D is a bit trickier, now. It was Street Fighter for sure, but lately a very good argument could be made for Mortal Kombat.

Edit: Based on the wording of the topic post, when people just hear fighting games, the average person is probably saying Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat far before anything else. The reason I wouldnt say Smash Bros is because I dont think the average person instantly considers Smash specifically as a fighting game. When asked what genre it is, sure, more people probably say fighting than not, but I dont think the reverse is quite as strong. People just kinda think of Smash as its own thing.

I think it mainly stands out to me because I like to play stuff like Call of Duty and sports games, which are games you don't really finish, so I can't delete them unless I'm absolutely certain I'm done with them. Those fill the thing up fast, which lead me to just having both Xbox and PS5 and splitting them between the two.

I agree it's reasonable-ish currently for the price, but how long that lasts will be interesting to see, since we're certainly not going down in game sizes.

This is a silly argument because it assumes nobody ever goes back to a game once they've beaten it, or that nobody plays games that you don't actually "beat" and just play whenever. The size of games is getting bigger all the time, so it's becoming more and more of a problem.

Feral cats live 1/3 as long, and being feral is not the same as being an outdoor cat. Trying to equate the two is like comparing homeless people to hikers. The reason your house pet cat shouldn't go outside is a combination of the dangers to it and the dangers it poses (including breeding feral cats), but it's not going to face nearly as many dangers as an ownerless, homeless cat.

EDIT: I think what you don't seem to realize is you keep expressing your stance on issues in ways that are getting awfully close to that racist/bigoted line, so that even if you actually aren't that way, when it keeps happening (like this topic and in the politics topics like you alluded to), it kinda starts to look that way and people start to question you.
