It is the first thing I expected when I tried out the game last night because Sword/Shield really needed it and I believe this game could have made a statement with even somewhat decent VAs. GameFreak has all the budget in the world to not be this cheap yet here we are again. Graphics look worse than BotW (a game that came out 5 years ago) but otherwise the game feels fun to play at least. I'm not making judgment on the game yet. A game more than anything needs to have that hook factor for me, whether it be gameplay or story so graphics and no VAs can be forgiven if the game itself is competent enough to be compared with some of the amazing games that have come out in the genre over the last few years. <cite>Axl_Rose_85 posted [p:962353413] in Pokemon Le... Wind Waker I can't necessarily disagree with, but cel-shading is a completely different style and doesn't really feel like a fair comparison. Metroid Prime 2 I honestly can't remember, but looking it up on Youtube the outside areas look pretty bad even upscaled, so I probably disagree on that, too, at a glance. It's not like it's actually affecting my enjoyment, it just frustrates me when people go full on "this is fine", because it's never going to get any better if you don't care that it looks bad. If they aren't willing to pull out the stops for a full upheavel of the franchise, when will they? I'll give you that Wind Waker is a cheap shot since it's full objectivity. Casual don't have many other games to draw comparisons to, so they don't care as much when Pokemon is below the industry standard. Calling it BotW lite is really giving it too much credit. I think the fact that they chose to release two games within a span of less than 6 months made them half-ass some of the aspects in this game. They could have fully committed their resources to this one game and it could have been something truly special. But why do that when they can make more money with a half-assed remake and a non fully committed "next big title".
