Oh, wow, I guess I might be the only one who actually liked this trailer and is kind of looking forward to it?

I mean, I didn't like the idea of bringing this back when I first heard it because I dislike reboots and nostalgia grabs, but I kind of like the meta humor about doing a story that's actually about that sort of thing. The animation and the voices are weird and not great, but I like the Roger Rabbit thing they're doing with all the cameos, and I do like the people working on it (I really enjoyed Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping!), so I'm... kind of optimistic about it? It could still be pretty bad, but I'm definitely willing to give it a chance since it seems like it could turn out really fun.

Fallen Kingdom was probably one of the worst films I have seen in my life. I can't feel anything for this besides seething rage.

Most games involve you searching for something, so it doesn't specify anything about what it is.

Exploration action is more acceptable, but search action is straight up garbage terminology because it's too nebulous.

You could say that about a ton of video game genre names

Adventure
Simulation
Strategy

All of those refer to a specific style of game, and yet the terms can be used to broadly describe tons of games outside their recognizable descriptions. Even something like "Roleplaying Game" and "Fighting Game" can be unspecific descriptions, but if you bring them up in gaming discussions people will understand the type of game you're referring to. It's not the description itself that matters, just only that people understand what the description refers to, which only takes convention to make happen.

Punish Action game

Probably Overwatch. Put in several hours week, every week, over the past handful of years.

I want to say a Mario Kart and Smash Bros. game has also been up there, but don't have the numbers for sure.

For concrete numbers I know I've put over 1100 hours into Monster Hunter World. That's counting both on PS4 and PC though.

Yeah. Literally made by the same people who did RCT3 (I know RCT3 wasn't as good as the original games, but it's clear they made big strides and improvements going into PC).

I can't imagine playing it on a console though. Even for PS5...

There's a chance I may have not played a single hour of Playstation in the past year.

Is there any connectivity between the titles? Like save file bonuses that are carried over from game to game?

Because I have 1 and 2 on Steam, but hell yeah I'll grab the third on Epic to save money.

Hmm, not as lengthy as previous seasons.

They also have a ton of other projects going on. Two new non-South Park movies they're working on, a new video game, a restaurant, and I think they're still trying to do something with Sassy Justice. They have two more Paramount+ South Park movies to do this year, and they'll probably consider that the same as the regular episode production.

Maribel in Dragon Quest VII. She's terrible, but her party talk is pretty funny.

This Diddy Kong Racing race is pretty great. The racers are so close. Right now two of them synced up perfectly.

Both things can still be true.

I'm not saying it's a plot hole, it's just kind of dumb how they shied away from the more unrealistic aspects of the Marvel universe early even when it was clearly over the top.

...and then it might be an actual plot hole, because the stuff the Asgardians do was later called magic anyway.

It was kind of silly though how they tried to hold onto the MCU being "realistic" though. Remember how throughout Thor they tried really hard to instill the idea that the Asgardians weren't "magic", they were simply using technology so advanced that it just looked like magic? Only later when they became more comfortable with the universe were they like "Oh, yeah, magic totally exists lmao"

I was thinking lately how little I buy games that I'm not sure I'll like at full price. It'll either be from a franchise I already know I love, or I'll get it when it's on sale. I wanted to think back about the times I bought something new at full price and it worked out great and hear similar stories.

The following should be true about the game to count:

1. You had never played anything in the series before (possibly also discounting games that are spinoffs or clearly "spiritually" part of a certain franchise).
2. You bought it near the release at or close to full price. (I was going to exclude super cheap indie games, but I wouldn't know where the line should stop when it comes to price level. But obviously the more money you were willing to put down the more faith you had to have in it.)
3. You really enjoyed it.

One thing that stands out to me in the relative terms of "willingness to buy on release without playing anything else in the series" to the level of how much I loved it was Persona 5. I was always interested in the series, and I figured I would like it, but I had never had the chance to play any of Persona games beforehand. And sometimes RPGs that everybody likes can be hit or miss with me. But for some reason because I had extra cash and it was right around my birthday I decided to just buy it the day it came out. Ended up being one of my favorite games ever. That worked out really well.

Honestly, I don't think this Peter was really good at being Spider-Man from what we've seen of him. Like, he did some good, but he's also kind of such a huge fuck up that I think it's totally plausible for a bunch of crime rings to run around him without him having even a clue they existed.

Something similar happened to me a few months ago. There was a series of massive explosions that occurred on the route I take home every night. The first one happened right as I was walking past, but luckily I was on the opposite side of the street at the time. But I usually take either side depending on what the lights on the first intersection I hit are. That night, for no real reason, I decided to skip the intersection and jaywalk to cut across instead to save time. If I hadn't done that I would have been walking right next to explosion when it happened. It's crazy to think how little decisions like that can matter so much.

There's a ton of great games on there, but I'd honestly recommend Spider-Man. Not because it's the "best" game, but because it's a great game to start with that you can pick up and enjoy immediately.

Persona 5 and Monster Hunter World are INCREDIBLE games that absolutely should be worth playing, but they both have pretty slow beginnings (Monster Hunter also has a pretty rough learning curve if you've never played the series before), and are kind of massive undertakings to finish. They're great games, but I'm not sure if I'd start with them.

I thought that too, but also figured if they really wanted to write him out of the MCU they would have made it so that he would end up trapped in Tom Hardy's world somehow so that Sony would have Spider-Man in their cinematic universe.

To be fair, only like 2-3 are actually useful. I think I beat the game only using the one that lets you double jump and quick charge.

That made it even worse for me, because I actually tried to invest in the system and to go through all that work just to get stuff that was completely useless was almost insulting. And the only ones that were truly worth using were the ones the game gave absolutely no hints existed.

When I saw the topic title I thought it was specifically talking about Mega Man Zero 4.

That game had some of the worst crafting I'd ever seen. It didn't help that parts could only be dropped by specific enemies (this is a Mega Man game; there are enemies that like only show up three times in one screen in a single stage in the entire game!) and that they were all named weirdly confusing bullcrap like "EleDeserter" and "C-Hopper" so even if you did look up a guide for a recipe list you would have no clue what gave out parts you needed and where to find them.

Oh my god this is manic. There's "Valentine's Day Sherlock Holmes", a "Christmas Moriarty" AND a "Santa Moriarty", a "Summer Da Vinci" and a "School Pocahontas". This is too much.
