Evolved rodent: Furret >> Raticate > Linoone
Basic bird: Starly > Pidgey > Hoothoot
Middle bird: Pidgeotto > Fletchinder > Corvisquire
Fully evolved bird: Corviknight > Staraptor > Talonflame
Larval bug: Caterpie > Venipede > Sewaddle
Middle bug: Swadloon > Charjabug > Whirlipede
Fully evolved 3-stage bug: Scolipede > Butterfree > Beedrill

The Venipede line each placed in the top 3 on their day, gen 5 is on a roll! But we won't be seeing any reps from gen 5 today or tomorrow, despite its status as a pro-bug gen.

Time for the rest of the early bugs! These are bug types catchable early in their debut game at a single digit level. It's not a clear cut archetype like the others so far, but these 9 all fit this trend and it felt wrong not to include the two-stage bugs at some point.

Remember we're only considering the first stages today, their evolutions will be tomorrow. Unfortunately the list expands from 9 to 11 tomorrow so we'll have to combine a couple or leave one off. My current plan is to combine Mothim and Wormadam into one option but I'm open to alternative suggestions.

Cutiefly absolutely is the winner here

Sizzlipede > Spinarak > Cutiefly > Surskit > the rest

Spinarak > Ledyba > Combee > Sizzlipede >Surskit > Cutiefly > Kricketot > Nincada > Burmy

I kinda think it makes more sense to combine Ninjask and Shedinja than Wormadam and Mothim... though on the other hand I expect Wormadam would get ~0 votes so maybe your plan is better

My original description of this group included the requirement that they can all be caught before entering the game's first gym (which excluded Paras), but I wasn't 100% sure on a couple of them so I left that part out of the final post. And Paras is a ways down the pokedex too, but yeah maybe I should've included it... My bad.

Yeah my thinking was more based on my assumption that Burmy's evos won't be very popular, whereas Ninjask and Shedinja both have their separate gimmicks and appeals. Though I'm fine going with that too if the majority wants it!

I'll vote for Wormadam and Mothim being combined (and Ninjask and Shedinja separate).

Ledyba the easy choice here

Spinarak was my first shiny, so it's my favorite.

Combee, I love how happy it looks. Cutiefly and Surskit as runner-ups. Though I'm positive Combee would be the most delicious to eat.

As for Ledyba, I had this TCG card that always made me wonder why they gotta make it look so tragic :(

also extra shoutout to the pokemon ethereal gates (fangame) bee it is a very good bee (and also so are the forest cocoons in it. their evos suck tho)

I will not vote for Mothim/Wormadam if they are combined.

Mothim is in my top 50 pokes and Wormadam is like in my bottom 200.

We can also do a write-in topic for tomorrow.

Hey, I like Wormadam. She was very useful in Pokemon mystery dungeon (the pink one at least)

combee is the only one i can be bothered to care about

I might put 'Mothim or Wormadam' in the option and ask to specify below. Honestly looking at Burmy on 0 today I doubt there will be much of anything for Wormadam but it feels wrong to remove it entirely. I'll try to avoid >10 options in future though.
