It was rare but occasionally we would get new users coming here joining the community who weren't just troll alts, that's not going to happen any more.

I can't think of the last time this has happened in the last few years. It's all alts, man.

Without hornyposting, and with people on their best behavior, I've noticed that the topic and post quality in general have increased significantly compared to this time last week.

Game of Thrones: Oberyn getting his head crushed. That shit traumatized me badly for a few days. Not just because it was brutally violent (it was amazingly well-crafted as an effect) but because I thought I had been spoiled on the outcome years prior. I went into watching that fight knowing in my heart that Oberyn was going to win, because I knew Tyrion got out of prison. I just didn't know the full details of how, so I assumed Oberyn won the fight.

The feeling in my stomach when I watched him get his skull crushed in was...intense. Like something happening right before my eyes that I knew with such confidence should not have been happening. It was the most insane moment of the entire series for me. I don't think anything will ever replicate that feeling.

I for one am glad to see a crackdown on political topics. They never go well.

Political discussion online is basically the worst kind of discussion.

SA1 is still excellent. SA2 has a lot of frustrating stuff in it by comparison.

I'm amazed how many people can play both games and come away thinking 2 is better.

The only experience I have with a day 1 exclusive mission was one of the assassins creed games. There was a PS3 exclusive mission that was basically just busy work and had nothing to do with the main plot. It felt completely pointless. From then on, I understood how hollow and minimal all the bonuses, exclusives, DLCs, etc. would be going forward.

Ubisoft is so greedy.

Day 1 DLC is so detestable. Like, there's content ready to be in the game, but they want to charge you extra just because they can.

I think this mindset comes as a consequence of having a poor imagination.

At one point, next gen meant doing cool things with physics and destructible stuff. Then it snapped back to just being higher pixel counts and monetization schemes.

I mean, makes sense. People fake disabilities to get advantages in line, and that hurts other guests' experiences.

I imagine this is a situation regarding people who make videos or social media posts about faking it. Feels like a Tiktok trend waiting to happen.

Bruh why are all of your examples from the 90s and early 2000s? Several video game projects from the last few years (such as Sonic, Mario, and Arcane) have been really good.

It started strong, but has become increasingly hit or miss (emphasis on the miss) over the years.

First few seasons are 90% hit. Around season 5 or so, it's more like 60%, then by seasons 10+ it's like 35% hit.

They weren't banned outright, but you were only allowed to have them out during lunch or recess. If they were seen during class, they got taken away until the end of the day.

I've never encountered that feeling. I still enjoy pretty much everything I used to enjoy, and plenty of new things, too.

A few times, I have actually felt that way. League of Legends was a big one back in the day. I spent hundreds just because it felt worth it.
