ex: Dead Cells and Vampire Survivors. Loved them both, and respected their constant free updates. Never touched the DLCs, but still bought them just to toss the devs an extra few bucks.

I got the indie platformer Horace for around $3 on sale, having never heard of it. It's a masterpiece, I would have been willing to pay $60 for it without hesitation if I knew how good it was going in, let alone the normal price which is I think $15. Tried to spread the word about it since I did think the developer deserved more attention and sales, have convinced a decent amount of friends to play it.

The dev poured his heart and soul into this game and had been updating it for several years after release - only a small fraction of it being DLC. I've spent hundreds of hours playing this game, it's ridiculously good.

Hollow Knight and Elden Ring. Basically a game has to give me so much quality playtime for the price I paid that I feel like the devs got ripped off.

Sometimes I feel a little bad buying a cheap steam key then playing the game for over 100 hours. But not bad enough to ever pay full price or lol tip.

Everyone involved with making that game has more income than me. Anything extra would just give the executives bigger bonuses. $50 is the most I'll pay for any game on any platform.

Well, I do pay for DLC and sometimes get disappointed if a game I like doesn't get DLC. I've bought games on multiple systems too, but that's because of rereleases or convenience or something.

Paying just because the game is good? Never crossed my mind, and will continue to not cross my mind.

That's what dlc/season pass is for isn't it? When I like the game enough I buy more of it. And if I really love the game I buy cosmetics like in AC Odyssey and SFV.

I downloaded Doki Doki Literature Club Plus for free, and loved it so much I wanted to play with mods. However, the mods are generally only compatible with the vanilla version of DDLC, which can be downloaded for free from the official website. I voluntarily paid $20 for it.

But yeah, that Blizzard guy is completely delusional and hopefully the gaming industry/audience doesn't fall for his scam.

I've definitely done this for Okami and Hades by purchasing them for more than one platform. Pity Clover didn't get to benefit from all the love its game garnered over the years.

I felt this way about DRG so I bought both supporter packs & almost all the cosmetics DLCs (at a huge discount of course :p)

It's a rare event, but for instance Days Gone was a game I picked up at half price discount.....because I had not much faith in it frankly....
