Too broad a subject. 7/10. Some of it is absolutely atrocious, and unfortunately that's what you tend to hear the most, but the music I grew up with in my home was excellent, so I can only dock so many points just because of the crap they play on the radio.

Thanks to my parents, when someone says "Christmas music," I don't think of Jingle Bell Rock and such... I think of stuff like this:

So for me, the good outweighs the bad, provided you know what's out there.

Mixed feelings about this particular instance. It's not nearly as straight-forward as the last article I read on the subject of trans students involved the staff of the school forcing a bathroom stall door open, presumably so they could ogle at the kid's genitals. :-/
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/transgender-teen-posts-video-of-school-staff-opening-bathroom-stall-on-her/
And those staff members are probably going to justify it by claiming that they're worried the student would ogle other students, apparently not recognizing the irony.

Principal Jonathan Hochman said that Vlaming told him that he "liked" and "missed" the FEMALE VERSION of the student.

Wat.

Dragon Warrior/Quest had 4 main-line games on the NES, not 3... FF should be on this list instead.

Anyway, Castlevania. I'm also fond of Wizards & Warriors, though that series doesn't seem to be as well-known, and I believe there were only 3 Dragon Slayer games on the NES/Famicom (Faxanadu, Legacy of the Wizard, Romancia). However, I'm only familiar with LotW, which is a great little adventure game.

Ah, if you want to grind for limits, use the fury status via hypers to speed up the process.

Maxing an All materia and selling it will set you up for most of the game in terms of finances.

You can just stack passive counter materia on characters to make them counter over and over and over again.

Oh, one thing you can do is run from battles a whole bunch in order to make it so one of the enemy skill spells will hit your character with just the right amount to set their HP to 7777.

No. I fell asleep in math class in junior high once. My teacher had one of the most monotonous, soothing voices I've ever heard, and I already knew the stuff he was covering so I couldn't focus and I fell asleep.

But never at work. I'm always too busy; I usually skip breaks and such, too, because there's a lot to do. It's against policy to do that, but you get in trouble for not getting things done on time and that's worse, so... *shrug* I can't deny that there were times I badly wanted to, though. There was about a 2 or 3 week period of time where we were severely short-staffed and the machinery that kept us going broke. We had to wait for a replacement piece to arrive... it was a nightmare working double shifts with no days off (eight hours on, two off, three more on) with that stupid broken piece of crap forcing us to do everything by hand. Ugh.

Thank goodness. Once he's sworn in the media will let it go.

That... sorta depends. There's a slow push to impeach Trump atm (they wanna try and flip the Senate first). If they're able to get him on very specific grounds, it can actually take out his whole cabinet with him, believe it or not. However, in that incredibly unlikely scenario, I'm not sure what happens to his judicial appointments, if anything. I'd have to do some research. There will be backlash against Kavanaugh in the event that it does (which it won't, let's be honest. That would be... well, it would be interesting if nothing else, but from what little information I have they're going about it completely the wrong way, the idiots). It is a funny hypothetical to toss about, though.

I am curious to see what will happen under the president that will come after Trump. He may end up getting some sort of pardon like the CIA got from Obama or something if anything substantially criminal from recent years does come to light. His pay for play with the Saudis may cause problems if nothing else.

Amount of women raped (attempted and completed) according to most women and losers trying to win arguments? Over 50%. Reality? Around 18%.

What's funny is that I also gave a statistic for the # of women raped on average. 1/5-1/4, depending upon the source. That's 20-25%. *GASP* I was 2-7% off from you! What a hideous SJW loser I am!

What's funnier is that I actually live in a region of the USA that DOES have a noticeably above average rate of rape on account of it being both a rural region (we've got two cults in the area that protect a lot of the local pedophiles; they're big on white supremacy too)... and a college town. :-/

But I have no doubt that it totally happened to your sister and that you totally used a shovel to save her.

What, you'd rather I shot them? Well, I didn't manage to hit any of them. I was a kid swinging a huge-ass shovel around; I didn't wanna go after them without something to hit them with, but beyond scaring the shit out of them it wasn't very effective.

You really compared the amount of human (oops, I meant clump of cells) beings murdered as opposed to the amount of children "gunned down en masse." En masse? Are you insane?

I think you've been watching a bit too much Ray Comfort propaganda, for one thing, but beyond that, are you seriously suggesting that we don't have a gun murder epidemic in the USA that disproportionately targets children, lol? You do realize that we've had almost as many mass shootings this year as we have had DAYS in the year?
But hey, if dem fertilized eggs really are that much more important to you, by all means. You obviously don't know much about pregnancy if you're saying stuff like this, lol.

Hell, if we want to go into children having their lives ruined, let's talk about the amount of children raped or sexually assaulted by teachers every year!

Fixed. But if it comforts you to think only women are rapists, be my guest. I was under the impression that you didn't care much about rape victims... but I guess you only don't care about them if they're impregnated from it, lol. Then they take second place to their rape egg, yes?

And the other points you're trying to make are idiotic at best. Pro-lifer does not mean that you have an ABSOLUTE right to live, but that you have an inherent right at life as long as you don't stampede on that right of others (aka: an actual murderer). Can you fucking imagine if a pro-life absolutism would be established? That no matter how many people you kill, that you would never be killed yourself?

Says Mr Spermicide. Aw, we all draw lines where it's convenient for us, don't we? It's not every day that someone's a hypocrite on both ends; you kill sperm almost every day, sneer at women dying because they have pregnancy-related complications (but hey, at least the baby liv-oh wait no it was already dead inside her and they just refused to take it out lol) and revel in the deaths of criminals, but you'll be damned if you let dem blastocysts go without a fight!

Besides, as we all know, the biggest factor in determining what makes an actual criminal is to be raised by a single mother.

Aw, but I thought you didn't want those single women to have abortions? Hmm.
Oh, and you're wrong. It's poverty. That the two go hand in hand says more about the foul state of our economics than anything else.

See that all over the place in the town I live in. Fun. I don't go outside anymore, and neither does my sister, who was raped when she was in pre-school. Couple years after that, a gang of boys once surrounded her and tried to tear her clothes off. They didn't realize I was watching from the window of our apartment overlooking the park they were in. I don't think they liked it when I came at them with a shovel, but hey...

Oh, I think I forgot one or two... yes. According to the WHO, "about 830 women die from pregnancy- or childbirth-related complications around the world every day." Abortion is far safer than pregnancy.

Also, depending upon the source you check, you will generally find a number between 1/5 or 1/6 as the ratio of pregnancies that end in miscarriage (this has held true in my own family where 2 members who had five pregnancies each suffered one miscarriage). Have fun clogging our legal system when you turn all women who miscarry into suspected criminals. Yet cutting access to women's health/health care in general can only result in the # of miscarriages going up. Very pro-life.

Oh, and let's not forget exemplary pro-lifers like Idaho's lieutenant governor candidate Bob Nonini, who wants the death penalty for women who have abortions. Ahahahahaha..... not so funny when you remember that we've already found women who miscarried "guilty" of the "crime" of abortion in more than one state in recent years.

Orcs were invented by Tolkien though

No.

Orc = goblin. Something that Peter Jackson apparently missed when he included a line in his movies about cross-breeding orcs with "goblin-men." Pft. I think the word is Germanic in its origins but I'd have to double-check; it's been a while since I read up on Tolkien's work. It should be noted that Tolkien's depiction of orcs differs quite a bit from what we typically see today. They aren't really similar to, say, Warcraft orcs.

Tolkien invented hobbits while he was in the trenches in WW1. One could also make the argument that he invented Balrogs, but Tolkien's balrogs are heavily tied to his setting (corrupted Maia- Gandalf, Saruman, and Sauron are all Maia as well- basically fallen angels), and other depictions of balrogs since Tolkien just seem to be... a class of fire-related demons, so they take the name and the fire and leave everything else.

Pretty much everything he wrote was rooted in something already established in myth/fantasy, not that that's a bad thing.

Cruddy_horse posted...
Because it's a race all to easy to shove in. I wish more fantasy works would incorporate a mostly original racial roster but that's probably more effort than most creators are willing to put in.

It's usually either the traditional fantasy races, the "humans crossed with animal X" race, and/or the "mascot" race, heh.
