I may have asked before, but have you ever just slept at work. I usually try not to, but I have a good number of times. Normally on the weekend, which is not my normal work schedule... sometimes. Sometimes, I sleep during the week, though. On base, it was weekend duty. It was much more relaxed, and we were waiting on another shop for like a couple hours or so. I just took a nap. Even at my other job, we had nothing to do for a while. I just took a quick nap. It's nice to do sometimes. What about PotD, though? Do you guys or have you ever slept at work?

During my working career there've been occasions where I've nodded off for seconds at a time.

No. I fell asleep in math class in junior high once. My teacher had one of the most monotonous, soothing voices I've ever heard, and I already knew the stuff he was covering so I couldn't focus and I fell asleep.

But never at work. I'm always too busy; I usually skip breaks and such, too, because there's a lot to do. It's against policy to do that, but you get in trouble for not getting things done on time and that's worse, so... *shrug* I can't deny that there were times I badly wanted to, though. There was about a 2 or 3 week period of time where we were severely short-staffed and the machinery that kept us going broke. We had to wait for a replacement piece to arrive... it was a nightmare working double shifts with no days off (eight hours on, two off, three more on) with that stupid broken piece of crap forcing us to do everything by hand. Ugh.

Only right before I realized I was too sick to work and our nurse wouldn't let me drive home because I was so ill. I ended up going to the hospital.

I am fortunate enough to be able to nap in my chair without consequence... a light nap though if needed.

Back when I had 3 jobs I used to sleep at my overnight security gig. Some days I literally worked 24 hours straight.

It was a really cool job, too. I would spend some nights jogging around campus, played a ton of civ 5, I taught one friend how to park there and brought girls on occasion.

The only reason I quit is because I got my current job which pays almost twice what I made there.

When in college and I hadn't slept for 2 or 3 days, sure.

Yeah, although it was because I was sick and took some medicine a few hours before coming in. In high school, I can count the number of days I didn't fall asleep on one finger.

Back when i was working 2 jobs, i used to fall asleep at work all the time. I had to be at job #1 at 4:50am but didnt get off job #2 until 10pm

It'd be hard to sleep standing up.

Yup, when I worked in a factory I could move around my breaks.
So guess who had an hour long break and used it to nap in my car!

Yes a few times, usually in meetings at my last job.

If I am doing something that has a lot of downtime I tend to just visit random sites.
