Most of the news media has a liberal bias.

Yeah, that's why MSNBC (the place people point to when talking about liberal bias) fired Ed Schultz when he covered Bernie Sanders. Oh, wait...

*Shrug* Party loyalty and neutrality bias =/= liberal bias. The Dems haven't been liberal since the New Democrat movement; Obama/Pelosi/Wasserman/Perez era resulted in the Dems losing over 1000 seats due to their centrism alienating the FDR-esque party base.

Also, for all the "google is left-wing" crap that get thrown around, I have to wonder why Fox News shows up as the top search result when I type in "news" (after google news, of course). >_>

Speaking as someone whose grandfather was forced into the fascist Italian army during WW2...

Hit them. As hard as you can. You treat adult bullies just like you treat schoolyard ones. None of this "violence only begets moar violence waaaah" bull. If someone thinks that they can stomp all over you without a fight, they'll do it.

When I was younger, I lived next to an elementary school yard. I looked out the window one day and saw a group of boys had surrounded and were molesting a little girl. So I grabbed the nearest heavy blunt object (a shovel) and I charged them and told them I was going to bash their f***ing skulls in (I wasn't bluffing either). And guess what? The little b****es ran like a bunch of cockroaches and I never saw those boys try and hurt a girl like that again.

If someone thinks that they should be able to violate other people's rights and autonomy with impunity, they have, in my eyes, immediately suspended their own. You try and assault a child? I'll chase you down with a shovel. You try and take away the civil rights of millions of people? I'll do a lot worse to you than punch you, given the opportunity.

No, but something I rarely see talked about whenever this subject pops up is the fact that we are reliant upon the existence of a resource we can't feasibly renew: topsoil. Agriculture is the back-bone of civilization and it is dependent upon topsoil and water sources which we aren't taking proper care of. Get too short on either of those and you'll end up with a great deal of international damage. Perhaps I am a bit more aware of this because I live in the Palouse?

Hmm, you know, I don't think I've ever seen any topics whining about how putting skinny models on magazine covers promotes anorexia/bulimia. Wonder why.

That's a very simplistic- not to mention inaccurate- view of Venezuela's political history.

Anyway, I don't think that there are a whole lot of people who do. Communism is one of those political ideologies that sounds really good to some people on paper but doesn't really function in practice because it fails to take human nature into account, lol. "If only everyone was a perfect angel and did everything X way, everything would be great!" Yeah, okay. Pft.

It's not uncommon for people to commit suicide shortly after coming out if there's a severe negative reaction to it, as they've just made themselves very vulnerable and been burned for it; it's not exactly something you can take back once it's done, which means you just have to live with whatever it is people think. The odds skyrocket if it comes from relatives, though. It doesn't help that a lot of people (especially younger kids) are not aware that support systems exist for people in their situation; a teenager may be aware that some sort of LGBT group exists to help them if things are bad, but a kid in elementary school? Unlikely.

In a way, it's sort of living like with a disease in that if people stigmatize you for it, there's not really anything you can do about it. That's a rough thing to come to terms with, especially for a kid. If the school faculty was aware that the kid had come out, they should have monitored the situation more carefully to ensure that the child wasn't being treated badly during a vulnerable period. It's a terrible situation all-around, and this is probably something that schools need to find a way of addressing more consistently.

I've experienced both ends of that; in elementary school, the faculty did nothing for any sort of bullying as they saw it as a legal liability+I lived in a small town where parents were friends with the teachers (or the teachers were the parents in some instances) so kids got away with a lot. When I moved to a different town, I noticed that the faculty in the other schools I went to were very attentive to kids who they knew were going through rough times (sometimes they were almost intrusively attentive, lol), and it really does make a difference; a lot of people from my elementary school are dead or drug addicted now, while the people who I graduated high school with, including some that were very troubled, seem to be doing pretty well.

Depends on how warm/cold it is. I tend to not wear sleep pants unless it's really cold because the fabric can twist a bit and that's uncomfortable, so I usually kick them off before lying down. If it's hot, I'll wear a tank top. I prefer to wear long-sleeve nighties if the temperature allows for it.

Good. Douchebag was trying to grab her. Maybe he won't do it to other girls after this. He's lucky it wasn't me; I'd have gotten of my bike and tried to pull him out of the car to beat his ass. You try to touch me or someone else while I'm around like that and you'd better pray there's not a shovel in the immediate vicinity because I will bash your head in; I have actually had to chase a group of men off of a girl in a playground using this exact method. Multiple girls in my family and my circle of friends have been raped, usually when they were children. Molesters of any kind deserve anything that comes to them.
