I finally took the time to read through the topic after tracking it last year (wow!)
I've been enjoying reading your playthrough along with your thoughts/reactions.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)

The last mainline Mario Kart I played was Mario Kart Wii.
It felt good to play a Mario Kart game again. I had a lot of fun with it and it's probably a game I'll probably go back to from time to time.

Planet RIX-13 (Switch)

Game Description
---
"You are the pilot of a spacecraft that is looking for and exploring worlds that are potentially suitable for life. While scanning the next target, you lost control of your ship and had to make an emergency landing. It quickly becomes clear that you are not the first person on this planet
"You have to study the ruins of a long-dead civilization and the abandoned laboratories of researchers who have been on this planet before you. Avoid deadly dangers, study the local flora, fight with hallucinations, and find a way to eliminate the cause of the accident. Do your best to leave this planet and return home!"

Features:
- A mysterious planet full of secrets and traps
- Lots of different ways to die
- Two endings

What I thought: It was...so so. There are much better adventure games out there. This one wasn't terrible. Just nothing special about it. There actually aren't that many ways to die if you pay close attention and it has one particular way to die that's BS IMO and doesn't really give you any indication on how to avoid said death.

Also, two endings is false advertisement. It's more like "there are TWO different ways to beat the game but the ending is the same".

Nightshade (NES)

Played this via NES Switch.
I remember renting this game long ago as a kid. I never got that far in it.
Here I am several years later. A lot older and wiser to get a second crack at it.

Sutekh has taken over Metro City. His evil goons murdered the city's hero, Vortex. You are Mark Gray, who dons the guise of Nightshade to avenge your fallen idol.

It's an action/adventure with a point and click interface. The combat is a little jank but once you know how to deal with most of the fights they are all pretty easy.

This game has no save feature but it can be beaten in less than an hour once you know what to do. This game has a neat way of handling your "lives". When you lose your entire health meter, Sutekh puts you in a death trap. If you can survive the death trap, you successfully escape but you lose a bit of your Popularity when you do so. There are four different death traps. The fifth death trap cannot be escaped and it's game over.

Speaking of Popularity, you have a Popularity Gauge. When you do good deeds for the citizens of Metro City, your reputation goes up and you can get better cooperation from the public to learn more information.

Overall, I think this game is very under appreciated and it deserves a little more love.

Oniken (Switch)

This game is awesome. It's modeled after the 8-Bit games from the NES era. It was styled after the likes of Ninja Gaiden, Strider, Shatterhand, Kabuki Quantum Fighter, Vice: Project Doom with a touch of Contra.

You are Zaku (who looks to be inspired by Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star), a legendary mercenary ninja with an unknown past who joins up with a resistance to put a stop to the Oniken.

The game controls really good and the game does it's job well with it's overall presentation with some cool looking cutscenes that gives off the Ninja Gaiden vibes.

You run, jump, hack n' slash, toss grenades (very useful sub weapn!) climb bars/pipes, ride vehicles while shooting. You also have a mechanic where you can power up your sword for more damage/range and should you choose to, you can use a temporary berzerk state for temporary invincibility that also powers you up. You'll revert back to your normal sword if you decide to do it. It's usually worth to go in the berzerk state provide you don't get hit in the first place when you get the sword power up.

Game is a little on the short side and it can be challenging in some parts but very satisfying when you pass them. It has some nice unlockable extras after you beat the game. The game was so good I had an urge to play it again.

I recommend it!

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers (Switch)

Beat Arcade Mode with Evil Ryu.
So yeah...same ol' Super Turbo with simpler inputs (kids today won't know what a true Tiger Knee motion is like) along with the addition of Evil Ryu and Violent Ken added into the game. Both of those characters are nuts.

With Evil Ryu, Medium Hurricane Kick > Medium Hurricane Kick > Dragon Punch feels outright illegal.

Reventure (Switch)

I have so much I want to say about this game that if I went into too much detail, it would be spoilers.
I love this game. Like...so very much. One of the best Metroidvanias I've played in a good long while.
You are a Hero that goes on an Adventure and...that's all I got to say about it.
Now you want to know why I love this game so much?

100 Endings.

This game has 100 Endings. Some of them are hilarious, ridiculous and a little bloody. Reminded me of all the many different ways you can die in a point and click game for example. This game also has a good sense of humor and it has many funny game references both old and new.

So as you continue to get Endings, the world slightly changes and opens (unlocks) up which will allow you to find more Endings.

You can even find little notes (which are in random locations) that leave you Hints on how to figure out how to obtain an Ending and the Hints are really well done (most of them anyway!). Another neat thing you unlock along the way (about 50 or so Endings) is a Map and Compass. The Compass allows you to select one of the Hints you obtained and with the Map it will show you an X marking the spot. Makes it a LITTLE easier but not by a lot if you can't figure out hint! There's also a lot of very funny character skins you can also unlock.

There's also post game content and it's very much well worth doing IMO!

I whole heartily recommend this game.

GOG, glad you liked Seven Sirens! It may be my second favorite in the series. My biggest complaint was that it was way too easy (in a series that is already relatively easy)

Not sure where I would rank it. Probably somewhere in the middle. I do look forward to whatever free content that will eventually be added to Seven Sirens to make me come back for more.

Furwind (Switch)

Darhn, an evil being that was imprisoned long ago has been released from captivity and it's up to Furwind, a cute furry fox that must stop it.

Game has nice pixel graphics and the music is nice. Game plays well enough.
There are 7 different types of levels you go through in 3 worlds.

One you go around and fight 2 mid bosses to collect medallions to exit the level.

Another one is similar to what I mentioned above except you have to collect fireflies in the dark caves while you fight 2 mid bosses and collect 2 medallions again to exit the level. These are the worst levels cause if you run out of fireflies you die instantly. You have to make sure you constantly have fireflies on you at all times. Luckily you can always get them from their nests.

Third level is a chase sequence that once completed, you earn a new power. Powers you collect are an air dash that also damages enemies, healing and fireballs. There aren't too many opportunities to use them aside from maybe the healing. You have to be creative with the other two.

4th level is a vertical temple you climb up to and you mid bosses are literally Simon, the electronic board game. You repeat the colors while dodging fireballs.

5th and 6th levels are purely optional and just for completionist sake(you find Challenges from the other levels and they are unlocked on the map). One is you find an red orb, destroy it and reach the exit. The other is an enemy rush where you have to destroy them all to free your fox friends.

Last type of level is the obligatory Boss levels. Most of them are easy.

Only thing I really disliked about this game aside from the cave levels is you get a stamina meter for your tail whip attack and pound the ground move.

You can also use the Gems you collect to upgrade your Health, Stamina and other moves.

It was an ok game.

It was good and fun. Story was good, dialogue was funny, standard Shantae stuff you would come to expect from the series.

Not my fave in the series (Pirate's Curse is probably my fave) but it was good.

Revenge of the Bird King (Switch)

I got this game long ago for $0.01
1 cent.
It's a very weird and strange game. It's apparently the third game in the Gun World series.
You play as an eagle who can plant guns and grows them. Yes. Gun Plants. You can also set them up as turrets as well. It also has climbable surfaces with a climb button and even a slide that reminded me of Mega Man. You can also do a jumping somersault that launches you pretty far after a slide, which the game doesn't tell you about.
The story was nonsensical.
I liked some of the gameplay except a few of the levels have really bad design.
It has an overworld very reminiscent of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link which I really liked. It even has the shadowy enemies you can run into to initiate the action sequence. You can also level up and but new guns/items from a vending machine when you clear more areas.

The bosses were also really pathetically easy and it was a little on the short side.

Reknum (Switch)

I wanted to like this game. I really did. It has nice art but behind that art lies a mess of a game.

You play as Cheri, who is tasked with stopping the Sorceress that has cursed the 5 crystals and has enclosed the whole kingdom of Reknum to absorb their vitality and become immortal. Cheri then gets the sacred Claymore and will use it to break the Crystals to defeat the Sorceress and restore peace to the kingdom.

This game doesn't tell you about the mechanics at all whatsoever, like jumping off the wall. Spike and fire hazards are awful and you get sent back immediately to the beginning of the level.

I found out near the end of the game that you can actually aim your bow and arrow in any direction with the analog stick and not with the D-Pad. Like, what?

Boss battles are a combination between very easy and annoying. Annoying cause if they shoot a projectile at you, you instantly die. Thankfully it starts you at the boss fight again and not at the beginning of a level. All the boss fights are also the same except with a different sprite.

By the way, after you beat the dragon boss there's a really awful part where you jump on the spring and try to jump up the wall there's a little niche you have to go to that just feels impossible to reach in order to go to the next level. That part is awful and was harder than the boss itself.

There's a weird level progression where you have to go find some bombs, blow them up and you take a different path only to end up doing the level again in order to proceed further. Huh.

There's this weird upgrade passive skill system that where if you collect enough gold from chests, you get increased Speed, Jump and EX Jump (which is an abysmal double jump). But guess what? None of that matters if:

1 You die.
2 . When you reach the next area or boss, you lose your gold anyway.
So it ends up being pointless in the end.

The game crashed on me twice. Once when I died to a boss and another time when I lost my life bar by normal means from enemies. Great! Luckily the game autosaved.

Last level is where it gets really good (bad). You get to go through the previous levels again that you went through that just pads the game except they sorta changed the levels up to make it seem different. They did the same thing with their other game, V.O.I.D.

The ending hints at a sequel, which is apparently still getting worked on. I think I'll pass.

Downtown Nekketsu Story (Famicom/Switch)
Double Dragon (NES/Switch)
Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun (Famicom/Switch)
Renegade (NES/Switch)
Double Dragon II: The Revenge (NES/Switch)
Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone (NES/Switch)
Downtown Special Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama! (Famicom/Switch)

^ I played these via the Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle

Double Dragon 2 > Double Dragon 1 > Double Dragon 3
DD3 isn't all that bad except when the final boss can potentially soft lock you. Ranzou also sucks and is a disgrace to all playable video game ninjas. He's only good for making some difficult jumps in Egypt. If he is your last character left, you're better off using his only decent move: Neutral Jump Kick.

DD1: Screw the wall and Machine Gun Willy.

DD2: Great beat em' up at it's finest.
All the platforming segments in the DD Trilogy are...eh, but they were put there for variety's sake to switch things up and some of them aren't all that bad.

It was neat to play Downtown Nekketsu Story, the Japanese version of River City Ransom with an English translation. I had to get used to some of the item names from the shops I wasn't familiar with but I put two and two together from my River City Ransom experience.

Renegade/Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun. The grandfather of all beat em' ups. It was cool to play the Japanese version and to see an actual ending compared to the American version.

Downtown Special Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama! was very fun to play. It was basically another faster paced version of River City Ransom. Completed this with a friend via online play.

Haunted Halloween 86 (Switch)

I played this near the end of October and I liked it. A fun beat em' up platformer where you can learn moves between levels and it was Halloween themed. Game was made on an actual NES by the devs and it did have that feeling of playing an NES game.

10 Second Run RETURNS (Switch)

This game was very fun and addicting. You have to run and jump (sometimes wall jump) to the exit before 10 seconds are up. I beat all 100 levels and got every star. I highly recommend it!

Debtor (Switch)

You play as some mafia guy who wakes up from an ambulance ride and is going through some dungeons to collect your debt. You move blocks, headbutt blocks and use bombs on enemies/blocks. Short but fun. Good music.

Corridor Z (Switch)

This was a fun take on an autorunner and was pretty addicting for awhile. Got it for a penny. You play as either a jock, cheerleader and a jarhead and you keep running towards the screen (think Crash Bandicoot boulder scene) while knocking things over to slow the zombie hordes down while shooting at them. I unlocked all the cutscenes, two other characters, journal diaries, audio logs, clues, maxed out the weapons and unlocked all the costumes.

Funny Bunny Adventures (Switch)

Got this game for free. You go around planting carrots and picking them up while avoiding a witch and a hunter with a net. It was ok.

Pizza Bar Tycoon (Switch)

Got this for free. I guess this was my first Diner Dash like game. You make pizzas and serve them to customers. It was fun and addicting.

Super Mario All Stars - Super Mario Bros. 3 (SNES)

Played this with a friend online via Switch. My friend was Mario and I was Luigi. We went through all the worlds, no warps and beat all the levels. I ended up beating Bowser with the Hammer Bros. Suit for the first time!

Mana Spark Forgotten Crypts (Switch)

I liked the update for this game. They added a whole new area, new items, new skill upgrades for your characters, new enemies, new final boss and a new character. Galiana and her dog Bisca are a very welcome addition. She uses a boomerang and when it hits the enemy the dog follows up with an attack. I also like her skill upgrade: You can revive bats/spiders that you killed and they join your side at the cost of some life. The new boss was also a lot more challenging than the previous final boss.

Food Truck Tycoon (Switch)

Just like Pizza Bar Tycoon but with a lot of new mechanics.

Dead Dungeon (Switch)

Fun Super Meatboy-lite like game. Good music (done by HateBit who also did the music for Debtor as well) and I had fun with it.

Altered Beast (Switch)

Played this via co-op on Switch with the Sega Genesis Classics. Sadly me and my friend suffered with a one button delay with lag. We can play all of our other games just fine with a great connection on our other Switch gams except for Sega Genesis Classics (and NES Switch for whatever reason)

Perseverance (Switch)

I never felt so mad after finishing this visual novel. They advertised this game as you playing as two characters (WRONG, you only play with one) and you can shape the way your character can be with the choices you make (just different dialogue). The game ended abruptly after an hour and it left me wanting more when the story started to get remotely interesting near the end. Then I saw the dreaded "To Be Continued" at the end. It's been 2 years and I don't think they'll be making that sequel anytime soon...I deleted it afterward. Good thing I got it for cheap ($0.49)

Burger Chef Tycoon (Switch)

More of the same but I liked it. I think it's the most challenging one I've played so far from these games and by challenging, going for all the three star rankings.

Food Truck Tycoon - Asian Cuisine (Switch)

Again, more of the same. The music is surprisingly catchy.

Mutant Mudds Deluxe (Switch)

Played via Mutant Mudds Collection. I really liked this one. You play as Max and have to stop the Mutant Mudds from invasion. Fun action/platformer. I liked the whole jumping in and out from the background/foreground (Just like in Xeodrifter!)

Mutant Mudds Super Challenge (Switch)

Played via Mutant Mudds Collection. A sequel to the first game and I think it's the better game (though the first one is still good!). I liked that they added boss battles in this one.

S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team (NES)

Played via NES Switch. This game flew under my radar and I'm glad I finally got to spend time to play it. Pretty neat shoot em' up with the ability to position your orbs in different shooting positions.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch)

This is my first Animal Crossing game I ever owned. I remember going to a friend's to check out Animal Crossing on GameCube to play NES games on it. Good times.
I was surprised this game even had a story portion in it.

It's such a chill game. I've been playing it ever since I got it for my birthday back in May. It's one of my go-to games and I will continue to play it throughout the year!

Omen Exitio: Plague (Switch)

A Choose Your Own Adventure created by H.P. Lovecraft
It was really neat.
I like how you can gain experience points depending on your actions of your choices and you can use experience points to allocate them to your attributes: Fighting, Observation, Medicine, Agility, Speechcraft.
Seems like I got a bad ending. I might go back to it at some point for a better ending.

Johnny Turbo's Arcade: Fighter's History (Switch)

So right off the bat, the first glaring gripe I had with purchasing this game was that there was no way to configure your controls whatsoever and I almost had buyer's regret. Luckily you can remap the controls on the Switch via the System Settings.

I was very familiar playing this game on the SNES and finally got to see what the Arcade version was all about.
It felt about the same. I think I prefer the SNES version by a small margin.

Aldred Knight (Switch)

You are Aldred Knight, a courageous knight of the brotherhood who has to stop Lord Grugor who is threatening the kingdoms.
You go through 3 worlds with levels from point a to b. There are also evil insignias to destroy but it's only for completionists and has no other purpose.

You can use a sword and eventually get an axe to destroy rocks, a bow & arrow where you can also use arrows as platforms. You also get fire, ice and lightning magic. You can also use a gold armor that gives you temporary invincibility.

There are a few boss fights that were kinda creative. Some of the music is also nice. Sadly there's a bug that freezes the game if you try to open a treasure chest in World 3-3.

Blazing Chrome (Switch)

This was a hell of a good Contra inspired game. Felt more along the lines of Contra: Hard Corps
It was so good. I'd rank it pretty highly if it were part of the Contra series.

Bare Knuckle III (Mega Drive)

I played this via Sega Genesis Classics on Switch. Switched the region from US to Japan. This version is a lot better the US version by far. The difficulty is a little easier for one. The story is a little different and experiencing the first stage mid boss, Ash was...really something.

Donkey Kong Country (SNES)

Played this via SNES Switch and played Contest mode against a friend. I won as the Yellow Team and got 101% and beat him by two worlds. He kept getting bodied by Mine Cart Carnage and he finally made it to Gorilla Glacier.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 (Switch)

This game was pretty good and difficult. I beat all 4 chapters and got 5 endings.
The music was sadly disappointing to me except for one track.
Hachi is also a good boy.

You know what was one of the most talked about levels of Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose that some people enjoyed and was also their favorite part of the game?

Stage 4: Acme Looniversity Football

Scoring a touchdown to end the level felt really original! It was a tough level at first but when you eventually get it down it was really fun, especially if you know when to catch the ball from the Pass.

-During a screen transition, water under ceilings reveals its top layer.
-Improved stability of boss weapon drops.
-Flame Man's sprite for standing and first frame of shooting has some missing pixels for his hand.
-Changing the direction of a conveyor belt in-editor has a slight delay before the other conveyor pieces are affected. This can have weird side effects.
-The hashtag sign in a Wily Challenge game over message is incorrect.
-Destroying a Dust Block or Pole Egg below water, with a solid, non-tile object below it, will cause the water to stop flowing through this object.
-If Bass fires his buster during Treble Boost, his back flames don't animate.
-Spring Man can be magnetized before his fight starts.
-Jewel Satellite projectiles which are outright destroyed do not have explosion effects to show that.
-Jewel Satellite does not apply the right speed to a reflected hammer by Hammer Joe when reflected up close.
-Concrete Shot does not turn into a block when touching a jump through platform.
-Water sometimes doesn't tile correctly when a section becomes used or unused, or when its connection type is changed.
-Boss doors connecting vertical sections will stay locked if you fight another boss earlier on in the stage and have a boss suppressor on the screen where the vertical section goes to.
-Clicking OK on certain message boxes in the editor will immediately place your selected asset.
-Wood Man's falling leaves do not get removed when he is defeated.
-Metal Man will still take extra damage from Metal Blade if it is selected as a weakness, but that weakness is disabled.
-Ring Man will not throw his 2nd ring while jumping when using time slow.
-Ring Man gets stuck on springs not being able to do anything.
-Mega Man using the Jet Adapter gets stuck flying up when hit by Concrete Man's Concrete Shot.
-Mid-Bosses use wrong explosion effect when killed by Hornet Chaser.
-Water columns mysteriously breaks when Dust Blocks are destroyed with an Astro Button under them.
-Fighting Hard Man or Grenade Man at the very top of the level can crash the game.
-Blocky will phase into ground when they walk into a formed concrete block.
-Wily Challenge should now be less likely to hang upon a failed connection.
-Hammer Joe's projectile's animation is not affected by Flash Stopper or Time Slow.
-Rush Coil and Treble can get stuck in ceilings under specific circumstances.
-During Astro Man's intro, if you scroll him off-screen by falling down far enough, the game may softlock.

I too, still like Super Mario Kart. It was such simple times! You didn't get screwed too much by Item RNG and doing the short cuts were very satisfying. Also, I really liked the Battle Mode.

Spirit of Justice was great. I too, hope we will get another Ace Attorney game one day.
Nahyuta had his moments and I liked his role in the story, I agree he is a low tier prosecutor. Too bad, Prosecutor Sad Monk!

Twilight Princess was alright. It started off slow but it really picked up when you stick with it.
I thought they kinda dropped the ball with Zant near the end.
Ganondorf was ok...but I can't take his final battle seriously when you can fool him with the fishing rod.
His death was also pretty cool.

Sonic 2 is good all around. Yeah, a save feature would of been alright but it's fine.
Dunno why but I wasn't too high on Oil Ocean Zone.
I liked Metropolis Zone's music but the entire zone can die in a fire with the enemy placements.
I feel the same with all the other Zones mentioned.
Yes, the last 2 bosses were pretty intimidating with no rings but not so bad when you get the patterns down!
Yes, last boss with Knuckles was a pain and took longer. Still liked the novelty of going through with Knuckles and finding shortcuts!

The World Ends With You so good. It was neat how it pretty much too full advantage of the DS with the buttons, touchscreen and even the mic for certain Pins. The OST is ace.

MGS2 is good stuff. I really liked the gameplay. Big improvement from the first game. First Person View button was a good addition.

Mega Man 9 is definitely a top tier Mega Man game.

Maximum Carnage is awesome. There were also a surprising amount of secrets for a beat em' up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdYqeXCv2tc
Over the years I learned that one of the boss themes is an exact rip of Black Sabbath's "The Mob Rules"
Too good.
I finally got to read the Maximum Carnage story arc a few years ago and it was awesome how the cutscenes in the game were pages from the actual comic. That was neat.

X2 is my fave of the SNES X trilogy and probably my fave one in the whole series. I liked it so much. I liked how there were a few different ways to obtain a few of the heart tanks. One time I did a No Heart Tank/Sub Tank/Heart Tank playthrough. Violen and Sigma were not fun during that playthrough, heh.
Cool underrated moment: Destroying Wire Sponge with a Sonic Slicer and he gets cut in half samurai style.

Mega Man 2 really stepped it up compared to part 1. Very prime example on how to make a good sequel to improve upon the first game in every way.

The only point I would dock off of it is the Boobeam Trap (4th WIly Fortress Boss). Awful boss for first time players.
Aside from that, solid game all around.

Shout out to the Air Shooter. It can one shot the mechs the Sniper Joes ride in!

I like that the Japanese title to the game alludes to Dr. Wily's "alien form". Rockman 2: Dr. Wily no Nazo (The Mystery of Dr. Wily/The Secret of Dr. Wily)

Yes. Mega Man's Class Mode route in Smash Ultimate was too good!

No Mercy the best!

I remember being extremely lucky to have one of the few carts that didn't have that nasty self erase glitch which caused all your memory to get deleted for whatever reason. They eventually re-release a version of the game where it no longer deletes your save spontaneously but I heard they removed the blood (but they still left in the animation where a wrestler bleeds, weird!)

I also wrote a Super Heavyweight FAQ for the game! It was my first guide and it shows with the grammar and typos. lol...
I was so happy to contribute something to such a great game!

Shadow of the Colossus, Majora's Mask and Mega Man 10 so good.

My personal favorite of the Colossi is Number 12. Pelagia. I really liked it's design.

Majora's Mask felt a little confusing at first, but once you really get how the game works like how it saves and the whole going back in time thing, it's brilliant and it all comes together.

Bass is fun! He has a dash which also makes him jump far, rapid fire shots where he can have up to 4 bullets on screen at once (and can shoot off Sniper Joes shields off!), can also shoot vertically and diagonally. Treble Boost also makes passing most obstacles too easy. To balance things out, he can't move while shooting and his shots are weak (which all adds up considering he can rapid shot!).

The weapons were about 50/50 in Mega Man 10 compared to Mega Man 9. Mega Man 9 did such a good job in using weapons outside of the boss weaknesses where in Mega Man 10 not so much but they still had their uses!

Thunder Wool sucks.
Commando Bomb had it's use like the Crash Bomb from Mega Man 2 but to do the major damage with the explosion was tricky to do.
Solar Blaze was ok-ish. It's good on enemies that use shields.
Rebound Striker is a potentially fun weapon when you just want to hit something and do trick shots while it bounces around the surface.
Using Chill Spike on the trucks in Nitro Man's stage to freeze one while the other truck crashes into the frozen truck is so fun and satisfying!
Water Shield is no Jewel Satellite (Best Shield Weapon in the series!) from Mega Man 9 but it's a decent shield weapon!
Wheel Cutter is so good as a utility than a weapon. Using it against a wall is faster than climbing up ladders!
Triple Blade was the go to weapon if you want to straight up do damage. Good all around weapon.

Nitro Man was my fave overall design from Mega Man 10. He was the first one I choose to fight and I liked that his stage theme was used for the game's trailer! Loved his overall design and his entrance. Fun fight and using Chill Spike the right way against him was creative!

Oh man, I remember that one, too, now that you mention it. Jak II had some rough missions that were made rougher because of how the checkpoints worked.

also it was an honor to get bodied by your Alex in Third Strike Online several years ago

Good times!

Good write ups for Tales of the Abyss and Kingdom Hearts.

I also liked using Colossus and Nightcrawler in X-Men.

I liked using Marge in The Simpsons. She was the Donatello of that game. Did you know there was a Commodore 64 /DOS ports for The Simpsons Arcade Game? Kinda neat.

It's too bad The Simpsons and X-Men were taken off the digital market due to licensing. I'm glad I still have them installed on my PS3.

Yeah, Simpsons games on home consoles were all over the place. Bart's Nightmare is actually a little underrated! Some of the themed levels aren't too bad. The Temple of Maggie levels were definitely the worst.

WCW/NWO Revenge was a HUGE improvement over WCW/NWO World Tour. World Tour was good but Revenge was made even better. It has a kick ass intro and the wrestlers themselves were more detailed, right down to the movement of most of the signature moves! One new addition I didn't like on some of the wrestlers is some of them had these weird combo attacks you can do out of a strong grapple with Any/No Direction with the B button. They would go into a combo which can easily be blocked but it was all whatever! The AKI Engine was so good. Some of the best wrestling controls ever.

Jak II was ok except for the checkpoint system was awful. I remember that one mission with the sewer and it was bad if you died there cause it was pretty much back to the beginning.

I don't remember too much from Ratchet & Clank Going Commando but I enjoyed all the same. The PS2 trilogy for R&C were all solid.

Spot on with Streets of Rage 2. Dreamer is probably my absolute fave track in the game among the many great tracks that game has.
Don't sleep on Max! His mobility can easily be solved with his slide attack (forward, forward, B) and he has the most damaging move in the game if you can pull it off: the atomic drop (get behind an enemy, jump and press B)

You know what they say.
Third Strike is what counts!
