yeah I'm glad I grew up in the 90s. just wish I had money back then to buy the games I wanted.

Except most of those applies to the 80s as well. I personally find 1987-1995 to be the best stretch in gaming. Late 90s blow outside of JRPGs and 1st party Nintendo games.

It's close, but I'm going with the SNES. I prefer lengthy type games with save features, and the SNES was better with those, IMO.
When it comes down to games to beat in one sitting, the Genesis hands down. Sonic, Ristar, Golden Axe, Streets Of Rage 2, etc.

Oh, and the Genesis came out two years prior to the SNES in the states.
