Ive done NNN a couple of times, and the feeling is always the same:

-The first week is easy.

-The second week and through a large chunk of the third week it goes from frustration to hard.

-By the fourth week you find some weird level of zen where it becomes easy again.

I don't think it's very specific to any Souls game, however Souls fans in general definitely seem incensed when you tell them you gave it a shot and didn't enjoy it.

I've never had a Zelda fan seem offended that I haven't played any since Majora's Mask, nor RE fans for having not played the newest ones/the earliest ones (I've played 4 & 5)

Theres a big difference between being a fan to being a fanboy, but if you say that you liked RE 5 or 6, it can get ugly.
