I love self check-out. Most stores around here only have one or two cashier lanes open so I will just go to self check-out since they usually have anywhere from 4-20 self check-out lanes.

At this point, if you called them they would probably tell you to keep it. All the paperwork and shipping is not worth getting back an item worth a couple hundred bucks at most, that they will have to turn around and sell for probably less then that.

Just put it on ebay and make some money off of it.

I honestly don't like a lot of things hot. In fact, I will eat a lot of my food cold or just slightly above room temperature. Most "hot" drinks I prefer to mix a couple of ice cubes into first before drinking them.

Conversely, I love drinks so cold that they hurt your chest when you drink them too fast.

From what I read in the lawsuit and the explanation the article linked to about PFA's, it isn't really the companies fault that PFA's exist in their orange juice. Seems like they are something that can be found in pretty much any plant and no one really knows where they come from. It is not like they are intentionally dumping them into it.

In school all my friends and I switched from Warhammer to Magic the Gathering because it was so expensive. And that was like 25 years ago before it got REALLY expensive.

No, I am actually the "baby" on my mother's side for my generation. Most of my second cousins (aunt's and uncle's grandkids) are around the same age as me. At this point, the only time I ever talk to anyone on that side of the family is when someone dies and they want me to go to the funeral.

With how budgeting works, I would rather we switched to monthly paychecks than weekly. But really, you shouldn't even care when you get payed and should pay more attention to how much money is in your bank account, what upcoming expenses you have, and then determining what you can do with it.

In theory if you don't get it off, your PTO should account for that and give you an extra personal holiday so you can take it off if you like. If you have it off the company is really treating you worse because it is forcing you to take that day off as opposed to choosing to or not. Like when I had it off (and Presidents Day as well), I only had two Personal Holidays for my PTO, instead of the four I have now.

That is unless you are part time, in which case you are probably getting screwed in other ways as well.

I think once they did away with the older, typing engine and made everything point-and-click like the Lucas Arts games, it made the games way more fun. I still like some of the typing ones and have nostalgia for several of them, but I would never recommend them to someone looking to try out action games for the first time. They are so obtuse and unforgiving you need to have a walkthough open in order to get anywhere.

I had it once when covid lockdowns first happened and everyone panic bought all the bacon and only beef bacon was left.

Best way I can describe it is "beef jerky cooked in a pan instead of dehydrated". Not fatty enough to be as flavorful as bacon and it cooks way slower, probably will never try it again. I think the problem is that pork fat renders way differently then beef fat, so you can't really do bacon with it in the way we think of bacon, so you basically are just making "juicy jerky".

My last car had a broken evap sensor. Took it to 3 different shops and none of them could figure out how to fix it. Ended up just resetting my sensors before every inspection, driving my car 30 miles so at least 3 of my sensors turned back on, getting it inspected, then usually having the sensor trigger the check engine light on my way home.

My current car I don't have anything on. Inflated my tires a couple weeks ago due to low tire pressure, but that was it.

Probably should have just rebranded it "Mountain Dew" something.

The real reason is probably she was tired of working under her father. Keep in mind she has worked for WWE for over 25 years (over 30 if you count her "modeling" career), her brother even left and did other stuff. With Vince still around, she is always going to be working in his shadow when, from all accounts, she is very well liked by most of the employees and everyone wants her to run the company over Vince.

If the Saudi's buy WWE, it is almost a certainty that Vince is still going to be running things.

NBC and Fox still seem like the top buyers, but given that Stephanie resigned yesterday as co-CEO, I wouldn't be the least surprised in Saudi buys them.

My opinion has always been to swallow your pride (for the most part) and prove you are useful enough that they give you a somewhat insignificant yet filling slice of the "money pie". You are going to end up a much happier person playing the game than trying to change the rules.

And if that fails, then cheat them out of every nickel and dime you possibly can!

Yeah, the component pricing shenanigans of the last couple years have thrown a wrench into such value calculations. I haven't kept on top of them enough to make that particular comparison very well.

Since BitCoin crashed the prices of graphics cards are back down at much more reasonable numbers. Well, for anything EXCEPT the 4000 series since NVidia somehow didn't get the memo...

2017 isn't that long ago, you might be able to get away with just a GPU upgrade or maybe adding some more memory.

I like making my own soda syrup, but the "carbonated water" part is a pain. Soda streams are not any cheaper then just buying soda from the store (and not really any more "environmentally responsible"), and natural carbonation is really difficult (and leaves dead yeast in your soda which can be a very odd flavor). I haven't tried just buying carbonated water and adding the syrup to it, but that also kind of defeats the purpose.

Did a day camp for one week as a kid. Hated it, never asked my parents to let me go again.

It was essentially just a cheep day care. Lots of kids who's parents where just looking for a place to dump them for the day.

I have done a ton of long drives. Most of my vacations are that since I hate flying. Longest is probably Bar Harbor Maine to my home in Rochester New York. That is about 11 hours, but I did take a lunch break in-between.

I have done 6 hours before without stopping, but that was in my younger years, doubt I could do that now. Last trip the longest I lasted was about 4.

A couple games, my company's IM app, and YouTube music.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I like to sit down and focus on one game, sometimes I like to have 3 or 4 going at the same time and switch when I get bored.

You are also assuming that most Zoomers actually HAVE a main email address. In my experience, they don't. They create one to sign up to social media, then never use it and communicate strictly through social media. Even though I am almost 40, I can tell you the only thing I use my e-mail for is when some site tells me they need an email and when communicating with my 96 year old grandpa. Even my dad doesn't use e-mail except for his business.

It is convinient that store bought noodles last for a couple years on the shelf (Technically they last forever, but they do get stale after a while). That means I can keep several boxes in the pantry and just pull one out whenever I want. Plus, since I stopped having eggs for breakfast it means I don't need to keep eggs in the house.

I am less scared of dying and more scared about the process leading up to it. It is very rare that you have an instant "painless" death. It is usually a long process where you gradually lose your facilities and are in extreme pain up until the point where every ounce of energy you have is devoted to try and hang on to your life long enough for your loved ones to say their final goodbyes. By that point, death is the reward, not what you fear.

As Said before I do think they should be free. Preferably to everyone but at a minimal to anyone receiving government assistance.

I know it depends on state, but in NY if you want a non-driver ID, it is free if you are on government assistance, and I think only $10 if you aren't. Looking at Texas (A state I imagine is pushing voter ID), it is $16 every 6 years ($21 every year if you are a sex offender).

I think it happens automatically when you enroll in the draft. The only reason you need to register to vote is if you want to vote between the ages of 16-18, or if you didn't enroll in the draft.

That is what happened with me anyways.

That is fundamentally the difference between your country and ours. That isn't a "given" in the US.

The exception is if you are doing something that requires a license (driving, flying, boating, buying a controlled substance, etc.), then you need to be able to prove, when asked, you are who you say you are. Otherwise, you don't need to provide such identification.

Going to vote? Just provide your name at the polling place you are registered and they will look you up.
Getting arrested? Just provide your name and the police will look you up.
Getting medical attention? Just provide a name and healthcare provider and they will look you up.

That is why providing ID for something is considered such an egregious act in our country. There isn't a history of it being a requirement.

I have been hearing about a lot of players getting injured this year due to some huge hits. There was the Jets QB who just about got folded in half and had some broken ribs, and the Dolphins QB who has had like 3 concussions this season alone.

I can see them implementing some new rules next season, but I am not sure what they could do.

My dad has had one twice, and he has told me that the "prep" the night before is the worst part. Prepare to spend all night on the toilet and if you are lucky get like 2-3 hours of sleep. The actual proceedure is pretty easy, they just knock you out, do their thing, then you wake up and you go home.

I am not going to blame the developers when they say "This is what we think you will need to play our game" and you try to play it with something that isn't supported. I will gladly say a game is shit if you are playing on something at or above what the developer thinks you need and the game still plays like crap.

It would be like someone complaining that Netflix doesn't stream properly in IE6.

It is funny because I hang out with friends all the time, but we always do it over Google Hangouts because it is easier that way. That said, I still go out of the house probably 2-3 times a week, and I take a 3 mile walk every day to stay somewhat active.
