Single moms be batshit crazy.

Yea, anytime I see a single mom, they usually come with so much emotional baggage that it is a huge turn-off. And that is the stuff they are willing to share before you actually get to know them.

I would probably stay away from single dads too (if I was actually into dudes) because kids are annoying disease vectors that I want nothing to do with.

I don't think 2 hours is enough at times. Especially since in a lot of games these days 2 hours could very well still be training type stuff.

I usually try to do 10-15 hours but I understand 10-15 hours is a lot of time to "waste" if you're not enjoying it.

Sure, I understand that you could still be in the tutorial part after 2 hours. But the game has to be worth-while even during that for me to want to play more then 2 hours. It really isn't hard to make the tutorials fun, but I think a lot of games don't know how to do that nowadays.

Back almost 40 years ago it kind of had a meaning. It was literally an RPG that was simplified for larger appeal (and made in Japan since there really weren't Western companies making console games at the time). Nowadays with the line between WRPGs and JRPGs being blurred to the point that the only difference is their country or origin, it doesn't really make sense to use those terms anymore. Most modern AAA "JRPGs" are basically open-world action RPGs, and most modern indie "WRPGs" are turn-based console-style RPGs.

According to AARP, I need to stop shoveling my driveway in 5 years and hire someone to do it:

https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2022/snow-shovel-heart-attack.html

Franklin advises anyone age 45 or older not to tackle shoveling. He says the recommendation stems from a landmark study that indicates about 85 percent of U.S. adults age 50-plus already have underlying coronary artery disease.

Ignoring the fact that my grandfather didn't stop until he was in his 90's, and my 69 year old father who had quadruple bypass last year still does it.

Indeed

I won't get into details, but I will say that:

1) It wasn't my choice
2) It wasn't "bad" terms, and I can re-apply after a certain amount of time.

That said, I probably won't bother going back. Not because I hated it or because everyone magically hated me because I was a mod. Mostly because (believe it or not), I didn't really do much as a mod. I basically did the bare minimum to remain "active" and considering I would rather lurk 95% of the time it doesn't really make sense to be a mod anymore. Either way, interesting 4 years and maybe I will do a AMA on reddit when this site finally dies and my non-disclosure agreement runs out.

Probably not though.

Most people do exclude the GBA because they are different consoles/hardware. They include the Gameboy color because, for all intents and purposes, the Gameboy color is just a regular Gameboy with the Super Gameboy enhancements built in. Sure, there are exclusive games for it, but the only difference is the games make use of the color pallet.

If you had a subscription to Nintendo Power back then, you could have rented one with three games for three days for a reasonable price (I think $29.99). That is where most of the ones on the market came from, because I doubt many people wanted to go out and buy one after renting it and having to deal with all the crap.

Virtual Boy is really the only bad console on that list. Since it is the only one that is actually bad for your health. I got headaches from playing it when I rented one from Blockbuster as a kid. The rest just have a lack of good games (although they all have at least one or two).

The Jaguar really only has a bad controller, and lack of 3rd party support because it is an Atari console that wasn't from the 70's.

CD-I really isn't a game console, it is just notable as one because of the Zelda and Mario games. I remember my 4th grade class having one and never knowing it could play games until it became a popular joke 15-20 years later.

Ouya I can't really comment on since I never played one, but from everything I heard it is basically just a Android device.

I know it doesn't fit the narrative that game prices have always been $60, and the recent price increase are due to corporate greed. But games prices have ALWAYS been whack. Adjusting for inflation, some of these games are over $100 in 2023. Game prices have DECREASED over the past 2 decades. That's simply a fact.

It is worth noting that most of the games that were over $40 were because of the price of cartridges and the special chips needed to play the games (such as extra memory for some NES games, FX chips for some SNES games, RAM chips for save games, etc.) The cost of games for the most part have increased with inflation, it is just that the cost of the medium they were available on got cheaper. That stopped happening now that everything is digital.

It is kind of like how comic books from the 30's till the early 60's were always 10 cents. Just that they kept reducing the amount of pages from 96, to 64, then eventually to 32 before they started increasing the price instead.

There is only one reason a single man goes to Thailand and it isn't for the food.

I would like to know why it chose GTA III over San Andreas.

I think they confused "best" with "revolutionary".

GTA III was revolutionary, but I doubt many people would consider that the "best" GTA game. Later games were better in just about every aspect.

Same with Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda.

I think the ttrpg is a whale-only market. The videogame and books are for the more casual people. Why pay $100 for almost a squad when you can get a quality videogame and a some books? Especially for a handful of minis you need to painstakingly paint and adjust, dumping more and more time into something that's kinda fun (compared to other wargames).
A lot of systems (I.E. ones not owned by GW or WotC) tend to just require a book. Some of them don't require anything at all and you can get the rules through a PDF. Battletech lets you play games with just little scraps of paper representing your army if you like. The miniatures are just for the people who want them and in no way are required to play the game. Shadowrun has one book for DMs and players, and even that is only "required" if you are playing past level 5.

I don't have any comments on Nuclear. I love the concept. It's safe. Some of these smaller reactors you wouldn't even know that they are there. The university I went to had one on campus and I'd guess that if you weren't in the couple of classes where it was relevant then you didn't know.

My city had a "secret" nuclear rector housing weapons-grade uranium for over 30 years, and most of the residents didn't know anything.

You have stores with 20? Most stores Ive seen have 4. Some of the bigger stores more. But I think 8 was the limit. Maybe 10. But never more than that
The newer wallmarts have 20, ten at the grocery side, ten at the department side. Then maybe like 10 regular lanes in-between, but I have only seen 2-3 of them actually manned.
