This. Is why we need safeguards like age limits, because the voters can be wrong. They often are, in fact.

Once a representative becomes ingrained in a populace, it becomes the automatic reaction to just keep voting for them. And her district is safely Democratic, meaning the alternative is a Republican. Which also mean no one ever primaries her. Ergo, politicians in office forever.

It's less that the people want that, more that the system supports it and forces it to happen.

https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2023/09/gop-congressman-calls-for-execution-of-sodomy-promoting-us-army-general/

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) called for the execution of General Mark Milley, the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in a homophobic tirade this weekend.
In his newsletter this weekend published to his Congressional website Gosar accused Milley of being a homosexual-promoting-BLM-activist who delayed the militarys response to the January 6 riot. An election denier, Gosar has in the past claimed that he started the revolution, referring to the insurrection.

In his newsletter over the weekend, though, Gosar criticized Milley for not doing more to stop the insurrection, referring to Capitol Police Chief Stephen Suns testimony in committee last week that the January 6 insurrection was an intelligence failure and that several agencies didnt react to it quickly enough.
But the blame was squarely on Milley in Gosars newsletter. But even after approval was given, General Milley, the homosexual-promoting-BLM-activist Chairman of the military joint chiefs, delayed.

He said that deviant Milley worked with then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), conspiring to hurt President Trump, and treasonously working behind Trumps back.
In a better society, quislings like the strange sodomy-promoting General Milley would be hung, Gosar wrote. He had one boss: President Trump, and instead he was secretly meeting with Pelosi and coordinating with her to hurt Trump. That is, when he wasnt also secretly coordinating and sharing intelligence with the Chinese military.

Remember when the GOP supported the military? Me neither.

You started off by scoffing at my (factual) claim that Nintendo is a very rich and lucrative company. Using what what one company paid to buy another isn't a counter-argument to this, and isn't even a good benchmark, since overpaying vs. actual worth always happens in company purchases. That won't load for me, but I see the sentence how they are down this year from last, 3.25B vs 3.9B. That's not atypical, considering the Switch is at the end of it's life span. Normal revenue deviation that doesn't counter the fact that they are very rich.

This is true. A studio like Retro probably would never get off the ground without a big one like Nintendo bankrolling them. That makes sense for smaller acquisitions, but it becomes concerning when big publishers buy other big ones.

lol no. Nintendo is worth just shy of $100B. MS bought Activision Blizzard for $69B, all cash (nice). Market cap isn't the same as actual worth, and Japan doesn't use the rampant market speculation that America does to value index a company. It's the 3rd largest company in Japan.

People also seem to forget that it owns 1/3 of Pokemon, the most valuable IP in the world.

ER>DS3=DS1>DS2. Never played the others.

Kinda what reincarnator said in terms of why. All have a plus and a minus virtually opposite to each other in the DS line.

I feel like ER was the final polished form, but man, too many of you are too forgiving on how much is bad with these games. Like, ER doesn't have basic shit that other video games from 25 years ago did. No minimap, bad general map, horrid targetting) I thought games collectively figured this out when LoZ: OoT showed the world how it's done...why does ER have me target a crow from 1000 miles away vs. the 20 foot boss in front of me?), a plethora of weapons and the styles to try but not the material or grind to do it...and so on. The "zomg so hard!" sheen has worn off when you realize it's just enemies having broken mechanics like no counter openings and endless combos, and rolling behind them was abandoned but replaced with no good substitute. The great lore and atmosphere can't mask the fundamental mechanical flaws for these games anymore for me.

Wut. Nintendo makes money hand over fist, always has. Out of the gate, too, unlike MS and Sony, which normally take years for them to turn profits on their newest consoles. Nintendo is an extremely rich and lucrative company.

Anyways, this won't happen, and good, as it would be disastrous for video games as we know it. Mergers and acquistions are rarely good for video games as a whole anyways.

Except yeah? This isn't up for debate and is universally known. I've had to do 5 save roll backs alone, 2 because my dialog interactions vanished with an NPC and my character sat there staring at the screen for nearly 5 minutes. And I onlying just got to Act 2. This is nevermind the staggering amount of performance glitches - for a game with stunning facial animations, the immersion sure does suffer when eyeballs suddenly pop through eyelids.

There's confirmed game-locking bugs and Act 3 is bloated mess that make all PCs chug and struggle. I'm dreading hitting it after running in my buddy party in Act 3.

If you've somehow played BG3 and managed to avoid these issues, then congrats, you are divinely favored. But it's a well known issue with the game that needs to be addressed, bless Larian for trying. I suggest you head over to the BG3 Board for some of the more "amusing" anecdotes.

Yes and no. There's a lot good, like the story, character emoting, lore, depth, etc.

There's a lot to dislike, like a ton of bugs and glitches, a confusing and ill-explained combat system...actually, virtually everything in the game has little to no explanation, and the game throws a LOT at you. It has a lot of clutter and clumbsy design choices as well.

It's definitely being over-reviewed for being something different and reviving a long-dormant franchise, but it's fun all the same.

Eh, I was hedging my bets, since there's no agreed start place where "gaming PCs" fall into line. For example, you could get ones for $600 that technically will run games, but might struggle, whereas a PS5 wouldn't. All depends and all relative, but the point indeed stand that these consoles are getting carried away with this nonsense.

Plus, they aren't adding any new services or anything. It's just more expensive just cause.
