It definitely is easy to believe it's just another wire-fu movie, but the neat twists and turns of the story, and itself being a fictious version of real historical characters and events was cool.

According to Wikipedia, it is the 5th highest non-English film in North America. It was #4, but Godzilla Minus One surpassed it. Pretty damn impressive. Also, the film would likely never have come to NA if not for Quentin Tarantino getting involved in pushing it through.

RoS deserves more sympathy in that regard. It had to try and pick up the pieces, whereas what TLJ tried was a terrible idea to begin with.
This is true. It was obvious a mile away, but 3 different directors (2nded up being 2), wit no Kevin Feige type making sure there was cohesion or continuity between the films guaranteed a mess.

That said, RoS is still full of sins, the biggest being the Palpatine ass-pull. Just Saturday-morning cartoon levels of lazy and bad.

The point of this topic is, what is preferred. C "works", but it's actually a lesser system than F for weather temperatures is the point.

Mam, this looks like a mess.

The casting is wildly off. Blanchett is too old and doesn't have the energy to be Lilith (and the Siren tattoos are missing)

Kevin Hart, nuff said. It seems he's trying, but he's Kevin hart.

Jamie Lee is also way too old to be Tannis, even if she may have the kook factor.

Tiny's energy is way off and toned down. Plus she's supposed to be like, what, 13?

Why the fuck don't they just use Cl4ptr4p's actual VA? Bless Jack Black, but it's so jarring.

Kreig actually looks...fine, but my next problem is: why is he and Tiny even in this, but not Mordecai and Brick? Tiny ain't even an actual vault hunter, so I'm not sure why they dropped Mordy and Brick, especially due to the irony of they actually are still alive by the end of BL3.

This seems so bad. Not even giving it a chance.

I don't get this "precision" about weather issue at all.
It's more precise degree over degree, since there's less of a leap in 1F , compared to 1C. And humans are extremely sensitive to minute temperature variations (i.e., 72F definitely feels different than 73F), meaning F is a more accurate read out, since the variation between 1 degree in C is too large.

And yes, using decimals could solve this, but no one does, and it's clumbsy.

TC almost got it. Add Fahrenheit for weather temperatures being objectively better. The short scale ~0-100F, give or take, allows it to be more precise in a degree-to-degree basis. That, and a scale meant to measure water freezing and boiling is simply a poor way to measure weather temperatures humans care about - about 70% of the scale is enough to kill humans, and thus irrelevant. Fahrenheit ironically does the base 10 = easier to remember model of temperatures better than Cel for weather.

Texas has the worst voter suppression in the country.

Texas only allows ONE ballot dropbox per county, meaning Harris County, with 5 MILLION people, and greater in landmass than the state of Rhode Island, has the same number of ballot dropboxes as a county with fewer than 1,000 people.
You must be 65 or older to vote by mail in Texas.
Texas does not allow online voter registration, or same-day voter registration.
The government removed a popular on-campus polling location at TAMU.

"Just vote!" is an incredibly simplistic solution that does nothing to actually help. It's like telling a depressed person to "just be happy".
That, and Texas has had among the lowest voter turnout for at least 50 years, even before the suppression tactics.

Texans just don't vote.

it's pretty clearly just meant to be that BB's crew is here
Nah. The originally translation is slightly different, but it's basically Luffy saying, "Well, it's not 'he'". Nami is confused, says "then what?". Zoro then says "Them...probably."

Which is very strange and how it's framed in it's own right, and has long caused confusion and suspicion as to what that means.

Well, *SPOILERS IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT UP*
Later it is revealed that Blackbeard has an "odd/atypical body type", after it is revealed he can wield 2 DF powers at once, the only person who can do that. There's other subtle references and hints, like his Jolly Rodger with his 3 skulls, throughout that suggest there is something unique about Blackbeard. He's also trying to acquire more DF, so we know he can absorb at least 1 more. Does he have multiple personalities? A conjoined twin inside of him? What?

But this scene is definitely the first reference that something odd about Blackbeard is detectable by those who can perceive it. That's the leading interpretation, but debate does still rage about what exactly Luffy and Zoro mean. But accurate translations make it seem to not make sense for them to be talking about his crew.

Because it is. This money and gains are ethereal, just 1's and 0's, so geographically relocating shouldn't affect taxes like this.

You can say that's Washington's bad for adding said tax, but the point is this should be something entirely streamlined and controlled at a purely federal level. That, and he's not ACTUALLY moving to Florida, he's just establishing a brick and mortar there he can claim as a house. All the business and capital gains are still occurring from what happens in Washington.

The entire system is design like this, so that those who have money always keep it.
