It's kinda sad if you think about it. He comes off as being a little broken.

Its hard to know without getting him to say it, but a lot of times hes portrayed as being immensely disappointed that he didnt get to be first. While Id just be ecstatic about walking on the Moon in general, I can definitely understand why hed still be sore on not being first.

Watched a documentary about the Apollo program awhile ago and iirc, that sounds about right. I think it was Buzz Aldrin who they said always had this intenseness about him. I guess he went off the deep end at some point.

These are separate issues. The first doesnt even happen to any signifcant degre, and the other two aren't valid arguments against raising the minwage.

Wow, how did that go?

Pretty good. Most were pretty chill dudes. Aldrin was bizarre and offputting in person and I didnt get to spend much time chatting with Armstrong.

But I did have a lovely conversation with Al Bean a few months before he passed and given he and the rest of Apollo 12 are my favorite astronauts I was extremely happy to have been able to meet him as an adult when I actually cared.

Its a shame I lost all the pictures though. Fucking Verizon.

But on the flipaide, partly through my dads influence I think rather than sheer luck, I did meet 11 of the 12 who walked on the Moon. So that's nice.

I think the real problem isnt so much the idea of the scene but more that its just another part of the movie that suffered because of the overly forced shared universe coupled with jumping the gun.

BVS should have been the culmination of several movies developing these characters, and all the Doomsday, Justice League, and WW stuff should have been left out.

Thats what really made the scene suffer. It should have been the climax but it ended up only serving as a means to get them buddy buddy going into the two final battles.

This is why Ive said before that if Snyder could have just made his solo Supes movies wed probably have a solid trilogy that could then be used to spring into the DCEU.

But WB wanted that MCU money with none of the build up. So we got what we got.

Most people in warmer climates consider the presence of snow to be a dividing line between "cold" and "holy fuck its cold".

10 is cold, but if it isnt snowing its likely that by noon itll be in the 30s or higher.

Meanwhile here in Florida, as soon as it drops below 73 or so its cold. And you can tell who isnt from Florida because theyll be happy that the temperature dropped.

This is an obvious bait topic, but I will say that its important to learn that what one may hate about a general group of people often isnt their skin color.

When I was a wee lad growing up in a moderately racist house, what I found I didnt like had more to do with what I saw as being trashy behavior and not anything to do with skin color.

And then when I got older, I also recognized that oftentimes "trashy" behavior is just a consequence of being poor.
