This whole we aren't used to colder temperature is a cop out and sugar high...Dallas is zone 8a which means it's average minimum temperature is 10-15 degrees....BUT BUT WE DONT GET SNOW, BUT ITS STILL 30 degrees so it's still cold!!! If you are north of I10 excluding the west, you get cold winters plain and simple.

The worst in Eastern North Carolina is like the high 20s at night and mid 30s during the day.

I can deal with that as long as it's stable.

I just hate the wind chill.

Seems like no matter how much you wear the cold wind will cut through it.

Even have military grad thermals and a huge ass $150+ coat my job gave me.

The states on the Gulf Coast often have feels like below freezing while still hovering above the freezing point. They might be able to handle the cold weather, but the utilities and the city dont prepare for actual freezing weather.

The Gove has already called a state of emergency, the military is geared up to help, I'm on a two hour delay for work tomorrow.

Most people in warmer climates consider the presence of snow to be a dividing line between "cold" and "holy fuck its cold".

10 is cold, but if it isnt snowing its likely that by noon itll be in the 30s or higher.

Meanwhile here in Florida, as soon as it drops below 73 or so its cold. And you can tell who isnt from Florida because theyll be happy that the temperature dropped.

Agreed. People don't believe me when I say I've been colder in Dallas and Houston than I have been in Denver for example.
30 is dallas is way different and worse than 30 in Denver for me.

It really doesn't get cold in most of Florida tbh. In the rest of the south, sure. It doesn't get cold in the southern half of arizona much either. Pretty much anywhere else in the US though gets cold.
