Topicare casuals making gaming better?
ClockworkHare

As far as guy gamers (and some women) being butthurt about not finding enough real women in online games, yes.

Women are more likely to be casual players by a wide margin. So when you say "this game needs less casuals", pushing for the devs to make that happen will inadvertently also shoo away a large portion the female playerbase.

No online game developer should ever cater 99.9% to casuals, though.
It's a recipe for chasing away the real moneymakers in the game: the "whales".
Success is usually dependent on a balance between longtime vets and incoming casuals. Have to please both.

I actually feel bad for this trend because I've known women named Karen who were nothing like the stereotype. Some of them were better women than most...

And some minority women, including black women, are also named Karen.
Don't be shocked to hear some of them are now getting undeserved trolling just for having the name.

Have you gotten a haircut since the 'rona shut downs and stuff kicked off?
Yes.

Apparently plenty of men still consider me attractive because I lift, keep good hygiene, treat my partners with respect, and ain't broke. Once I found out most men I date don't care if I have a buzzcut and still want my ass for a bunch of other reasons, I just clip it myself. 3-way mirrors, baby.

TopicI don't get why Women get mad that Men don't want to date Single Mothers
ClockworkHare

There's plenty of men willing to date single mothers.

The only reason this is considered an "issue" is because most of those men are not the types those women are hoping for.

My general response to this issue has been:
------
In the west, men do not have the right to dictate what a woman's preferences are in the men she dates. She has the liberty to accept and decline whoever she wants. It's unjust and oppressive to try to regulate that choice for her. It's wrong to shame her for it. And only she gets to decide what makes a man attractive to her and what doesn't.

That door swings both ways.

In the same vein, women do not get to dictate who men accept or decline either. If a large portion of the male populous has determined dating a single mother has more cons to it than pros...boohoo, boo boo. It's their choice, their rules just the same.

Wealthy successful men typically don't settle down with single moms. They don't have to.
That means a hopeful mom's standards need to take that into account.

What do you think of Germaine Greer, one of the most important living feminists?
She's had quite a bit to say on today's movements, much of which was ironically disapproving. So much that some far leftist critics called for disavowing her from the feminist movement (as if they had that authority)...

I mean when one of the most well-known figureheads of a movement comes back into mainstream and asks "woah wtf happened", that's usually not a good sign.

In all honesty, I wonder exactly who is calling for hyper-masculine female characters. Women don't tend to identify with them

A lot of straight women actually HATE female characters that are written "too much like flawless stoic macho men". It's seen as pandering towards them with an illusion of empowerment while also diminishing a female character's potential for "feminine power" that is usually unique to women in general. At least that's how they felt about it...

My coworker says she's can't stand perfect fictional superwomen inflated with godlike swiss army knife powers (like the male counterparts) because 99% of the women she's ever known are nothing like that and usually don't want to be. She says a well-written woman can be powerful, resourceful, AND relatable in her own natural ways without all that unnecessary "highly unattractive" fluff.

And she didn't mean unattractive to men. She meant it was a straight up turn off to most women too....

Some "activists" either can't do the honest math or intentionally try to avoid it to the point of declaring economic results are sexism lmao.

Even women were shaking their heads at such a ridiculous appeal.
Not because it was impossible, but that it was laughably unnecessary...

When an appeal to resolve gender discrimination involves invoking a double standard in the other direction as the "solution", it's a scam.
The team making the appeal knew what they were really attempting to pull and so did the authorities. Which, in this case, is why it did not pass.

Sometimes people discover their inherent homosexuality by experimenting with heterosexuality first.

It's actually not a rare occurrence for gay people to go through such a phase, occasionally resulting in a pregnancy before coming to terms with their actual orientation (in short, one of the ways gay people can still wind up with offspring). It's how some gay fathers end up getting an ex girlfriend or even a wife pregnant. He was convinced he was "supposed to be straight" at the time and awkwardly followed the typical steps of heterosexuality until it was clear it wasn't working anymore...

That's social conditioning for you.

Similar stories occur within the lesbian community as well.

No. They attempt to hook me up long term with one of their gay guy friends while applying their heteronormative fantasy expectations to it all and then do a shocked Pikachu face when it doesn't pan out well.

Sometimes my straight friends have a little difficulty understanding there's significant "cultural differences" between their dating priorities and what most gay men typically want.

Despite pro-marriage strides last decade, the grand majority of us male gays are definitely NOT planning for a future wedding...we don't really need one.

It's poor performance so far is par for the course when it comes to DC comic films. They're the definition of "hit or miss".
Sometimes they churn out a box office explosion that turns into a phenom, sometimes they pop out a dud that barely even gets off the ground...

This flick would unfortunately be an example of the latter.

As a long-time fan of Harley Quinn as a character, I would recommend to other fans who lost faith in the live action dud to try checking out the Netflix animated series which seems to be getting a better response overall. Probably because it's comedic and has much better writing. Harley's still stunning and brave in it without drowning the audience in cringe. It's basically just crazy random good fun, which in my opinion is where Harley shines best.

I see your point, but it's not all rainbows in that department for us gay guys either. We can still get hit by drama mixing work with pleasure.

Bad blood can still happen between former fuck buddies who go to the same workplace. And a lot of gay men can be as passive aggressively ruthless about "ousting" an ex as some manipulative women are. Fuck, sometimes they give each other pointers...

It's why not a lot of us gay men are actually interested in dating or even hooking up with catty queens (the gay men who are the worst about stirring up drama). There's dozens of terms for them now, but they all have the same toxic dysfunctions. I swear it's like some of them WISH they were "sassy" women on reality TV so they could get away with pulling the same trashy shit. They WANT to emulate that garbage...as men. Which is gross. And you'll notice a bunch of those types are always bitching about nobody wanting a relationship with them because they're supposedly "too fem".

It's like no...only SOME men are turned off by that. What chases away the rest of men is that these guys are too bitchy, snarky, and needlessly backstabbing like wannabe TV stars. Nobody wants to date that long term. Fuck and chuck at best. But that's also not a good idea with coworkers like that. Their type can't handle getting broken up with gracefully (too much fragile ego) and they go full on assault mode until you're pushed out of a job...

One of the funniest ironies to come from the bitter insistence that James Bond was merely a decades-old male power fantasy is that it's typically from critics who overlooked the amount of "fangirls" who also enjoyed the franchise over the years, as well as some of the actors who took up the mantle of Mr. Bond.

A similar phenomena has also appeared within female fandoms of certain fictional series with male protagonists including comics. There are literally women who have fetishes for fantasizing about Superman, Batman, Spider-man, etc. Just look at the fanfics.

Like I'm not shaming anyone for that; people are into what they like. I'm just saying I for one am not surprised there's some women who were prefer Bond stay a seductive "alpha male" cliche. It's an attractive archtype for both storytelling and fantasy.
