Just buy some fingerless gloves. Thin mittens or slim riding gloves can also work as long as the fabric does not interfere with your touch on buttons/keys.

It's not a new thing with people who play online games for hours. Some players wear gloves to avoid pressure sores from resting on keyboards too.

One of the smartest health investments long term is routine exercise, which could include weight training and other fitness regimens.

When people are young and in their prime, the aesthetic bonuses to being physically fit seem to be the primary reason to keep it up. However, that changes at different stages of life. And one of the primary reasons to bother with fitness training after 60 is to greatly improve your odds of maintaining your physical independence for the rest of your life. At that age, looking fit is small potatoes. Feeling fit and still being able to function with minimal assistance becomes the true reward. It's a large part of why physical therapy is a booming practice in the medical industry.

Anyone taking that shortsighted comic as gospel will likely spend the last 20 years of their life obese, diabetic, lethargic, incontinent, miserable, and highly dependent. In reality, quite a few senior citizens who took a wiser path and valued fitness DON'T end up heavily disabled and majorly dependent until they're practically near death. Dipsticks who are allergic to exercising do 20-30 years before their time...

The OP comic also overlooks a very simple fact: people with fitness routines can still squeeze in time for intellectual interests. Some intellectuals have big muscles. They just put in more work into life than that comic creator.

First homosexual experience?
That happened when I was a teen in high school gym class.

One of my classmates was trying everything she could to flirt and get my attention without saying it. Meanwhile I had my eyes locked on our 34 year old male gym teacher and his jacked glutes shifting in his basketball trunks. After a certain point I kind of phased out whatever he was saying to the class unless he said my name. Then I just nodded like a thirsty dog watching a bouncing ball.

Is this all related to racism against Asians on the rise because of coronavirus? Seems like all my Asian friends are reporting more and more racist abuse being hurled their way, it's depressing as fuck.
Violent racism towards Asian Americans is not new and the perpetrators are certainly not conveniently packaged in one or two standardized demographics (ie: race, political party, etc), much to the dismay of certain inflammatory media outlets.

For example: the 84 year old Thai man recently assaulted and killed in San Francisco was victimized by a black assailant. And that particular scenario is common enough to be a trope.

That's not to say black people are inherently violent. Many of them have been victims of racial violence too and that's historically been a serious issue for years. My point is domestic violence cases of "minority race vs minority race" have been an in issue in the US for decades. And if you pay close enough attention you might notice that cases with Asian victims are some of the least covered...

I'm actually shocked that one was.

ClockworkHare
01/16/21 10:26:22 PM

Dating apps have become a standard for hook up opportunities. If that's what you're interested in, it's actually DUMB NOT to use them. It's the difference between riding a bike across country or just driving your car...

For folks looking for long term commitments, however, one rule has not really changed pre and post advent of dating apps: the best catches rarely ever need that kind of assistance to find relationships to begin with and they get scooped up FAST without it, because their attractive characteristics are noticeable.

If someone's awesome company on dates, has an attractive magnetic personality, and looking to settle down, they generally do not need apps to reel in partners. The partners have already been coming to them.

"But but but I'M awesome, fierce and independent, Clockwork. Nobody looking for commitment is lining up to date me! "

Then maybe you're ignoring one or more 5 common problems:
  • you're looking in the wrong places (seeking commitment in places where hooking up is more catered to is like looking for a romantic dinner in a landfill).
  • you're not as awesome as you think and you might be overestimating what you "bring to the table" compared to what you expect from partners.
  • you're not making the conditions to approach you as easy and reasonable as you believe (you might be underestimating how much effort it takes to date you without asking yourself if you're justifiably worth the trouble compared to the competition).
  • you claim you're ready for a commitment; but your actions, history, and priorities are flat out saying otherwise (red flags galore).
  • you're not taking the possibility of a commitment seriously, it's just on your wish list (therefore you're more likely to overlook a real catch and let the good ones get away).

Self reflection and practical maintenance can improve your odds in finding a committed partner.
Telling yourself you're already perfect and people better accept that does not...

When you're an employed able-bodied adult you can amass quite a bit of savings AND maintain disposable income when you don't have the immense money-sink that is raising kids.

Am I missing some cultural related hurdles involved in this scenario? Because where I'm from single people who got it together are rarely broke. It's not an uncommon sentiment among gay men.

What's on TV is not at all representative of the majority, as it's often packaged and marketed to pander to curious hetero audiences anyway (regardless of who the hosts are). Calling each other "girl" rarely sparks hate between gay men, but it would be wildly ingenuous to presume most of us are fans of it...

For many of us it's often more like putting up with the habit because we have that one outspokenly campy friend who lacks social filters and basically breaks down if we dare ask them to apply one.

Do gay people hate straight people?
Like as a whole?

No...
The haters are basically fringe at most.
Ballpark figure, I would wager most gay people do not hate straight folks as a collective group.

Many of us have had awful experiences involving straight individuals (including family members), but implying that most of us hate the straight majority over that would be a gross overgeneralization. And some us pulled through instances of bigotry because of supportive straight friends and family. We have straight people in our lives that we love.

If you're a straight person who feels victimized because you think all gay folk automatically hate you, you're actual problem likely is:
-you've crossed paths with enough of the fringe assholes who stand out preaching their hate for you as a heterosexual that you've developed confirmation bias
-you don't realize that most homosexual people can easily pass for straight in appearance and you're overlooking a bunch of us who don't have an issue with you at all
-you put way too much stock in the myth of "gaydar". Especially as a straight person...

The majority of us don't hate you for being straight. We're actually glad you're cranking out most of the babies and not us. Relax, get some sleep.
